  1. I've never seen it oscillate in any media. Just tell everyone that it's phased array with forward and backward planars and you're good to go Rotating would be cool though. If you're short on space, look up Gizmoszone in my signature. They will have something small enough. - MT
  2. Thanks IXTL! The details do look great on those kits. - MT
  3. Welcome Norman! 1.6 meters is large! Maybe a smaller scale printout first to test theory and fit. It may save you a lot of money planning the stages before you realize something is not strong enough or you don't like the detail. Just some ideas. - MT
  4. Welcome back and it looks like with a vengeance! Looking good! - MT
  5. I believe people either don't think about the realism in colors or don't know about the missiles are missiles. Then there's the fact that masking and then painting them is a pain! - MT
  6. That's a cool build! Is it transformable, or parts swapping? - MT
  7. I saw the build up, but the finished model came out awesome!!! The sync on the lights is great including lighting the monster barrels! Too cool! - MT
  8. It's coming along great Jefuemon! - MT
  9. That's great lookin' so far! - MT
  10. Cool! I like the action shot. - MT
  11. Cool idea! As long as you're airbrushing, and airbrushing water based paints, you should be fine with VOC's. Don't expect to use a rattle can - TOO MUCH volume coming out. Just tell the inspectors or land lord that you're using water based paints and others will be sprayed outside. In fact, you can spray outside and bring stuff inside to the boot to de-gass. Tell them it's more of keeping particles contained from the airbrush and helping the paint cure in a clean environment. - MT
  12. The mounts look great! This is coming along REALLY great! - MT
  13. Hi Major Focker, sorry, this was a sculpted creation, not a virtual one. There are soem virtual models that can be converted if you have 3D software. Hey GMK, as stated above, hopefully within the next couple of months. - MT
  14. This kit should also be coming available in a couple of months. Like the Monster, I still don't have a complete one myself! - MT
  15. Hey everyone, we're trying to get this back on track! Yeti is back at casting and I'm sending him the master back to make more molds and increase casting times. On a side note, I haven't made up any decals for this because of the lack of white printing capability. About half are white! I have a friend with a solvent based printer that can do white, but he JUST got it and is learning how to use it. So decals may come later on. I mastered the kit and still do not have a complete one myself! So I'm in the same boat as those interested in wanting one. I'll post updates as they become available! - MT
  16. The Monster should be about two months IF all goes well! I'll be contacting those interested in the original thread when ready. - MT
  17. That's looking great! Shoot Jefuemon a private message. Find his avatar in a post somewhere, click on it, then in his personal information in the upper right hand corner is a button that says "send a message." I'm sure he'll help out. Sketchley may even be able to lend a hand (not throwin' anyone under the bus). - MT
  18. Several of us scratch building have run into this problem also known as "anime magic." Stuff looks good in the book or in the anime, but the two don't work out right, not even in multi-viewed drawings side by side! I've attached one sample that I use to scale with (higher res available). The B/W drawing is official and the other is a fan compilation. As drawn in B/W, stuff works out - I've built several items in 1/350th using this scale to include a Spartan, a VF-1J GBP / fighter, Regult and a Monster. The real answer was mentioned earlier, the Zentraedi vary in size. Officially, soldiers are 10M tall. One word of caution, the anime messes stuff up BAD and is inconsistent. Look at MANY screenshots for anything you want to reference including color because there will be inconsistencies. The newer CGI stuff may not be as bad, but the older hand drawn art is notorious for inconsistencies, some were on purpose as jokes by bored artists. According to the B/W drawing, Kamujin and the Monster are pretty close to scale in that screenshot. EXO and I have scaled them about the same too. Hope this helps! - MT
  19. Sometimes bigger is BETTER! - MT
  20. Straight brushed on its glossy. Thinned will make it semi-gloss or flat depending on the ratio. - MT
  21. If you guys need specific close ups of one you can't find online, we have one at the museum - just PM me. It's outdoors (with good paint) so the intakes and exhaust are sealed to keep out birds n stuff. - MT
  22. I think this is going to come out great! I gotta find some brass tubing like that myself - just not for $100 a kilo! - MT
  23. Like Kicker's signature says, "That amount of Macross items concentrated in such a small area will likely cause an unwanted space fold to occur." You're adding to the phenomena even more now. I'm glad to see she's in a good home now!!! I'll have to show my family the video so they can see where their "other" family member went. - MT
  24. No photos, but it depends upon application tool and how thin you use it. I used it on canopies thinned and applied with a brush; it looked great (sorry, no surviving examples). I've also seen people airbrush it on too. The same goes for the other clear colors. I've also seen people add it to Finish and dip their canopies in it. Just do a search here for it, it's somewhere. Multiple coats (after curing) with an airbrush and you can get it DARK! Hope that helps! - MT
  25. She's looking better everyday! More plastic than paper it seems. Great all the same! - MT
