Lt. Zombie, Nazi zombies - the worst kind! Looking good Edstuff and Arbit! Your dioramas are coming along great NZEOD! Electric Indigo, is that the old AMT kit? it's about time to make an R/C ship to run down on the lake. About 12 years ago I made a hybrid drive like this Voith Linear Drive and put it on a small destroyer model (a few years before theirs). Mine had a built in ball nozzle to direct the water flow. The point was to protect the prop, protect the wildlife and keep from getting snagged in the weeds while still having reverse. Plus regular water jet propulsion has no reverse without a bucket which would add weight. So I'm converting an old Tamiya 1/72nd PT-15 model (Trumpeter PT-815) to a fast missile boat and adding two of these drives for the best of both worlds. So far I only got to the stator jigs and stator construction. It's made entirely of .014" brass sheet and tube and about an inch in diameter. The fun part was machining the water foil and camber into the blades. - MT

That looks great!!! Also congratulations on being one of the few people here to start something that big and actually finish it! - MT

The airfield is looking good NZEOD! - MT

This guy has TONS of builds in his site: http://heliblog.moller-ilsoe.dk/#category11 On the right are his builds. He documented everything really well with photos and good descriptions. He's using brushless motors which is the way I'm going to go. He has the Tamiya battleships with 4 brushless motors! On the PT-15 he used Arduino in conjunction with his controllers. I'll have to figure that one out. My ship will have to be LIGHT - I'm going for speed! Three props, three motors on the Tamiya PT-15. I just happened to decide on the battery he's going with too so it looks like it will work. Since it's going to be a few days, have a Merry Christmas and Happy Hoilidays guys! - Phill

Making some of the lesser known vehicles from SDFM

I haven't seen one yet. Best bet is just to do a search on their site. By series name and scale both will gather lots of hits. - MT -
I'm seriously thinking about Arduino boards now. I'll have to look more, but I saw a guy using it to control motors in an R/C boat. Three motors, two small, one big and the big motor was the only one with revere. I'm trying to build a scale R/C boat on Christmas break so I have something to tale to the lake. - MT

Lots of cool stuff guys! I'm looking forward to Christmas break to build something! - MT

Thanks! Those fibers will be worth it when your done. Your little model will weigh like 5 pounds I'm actually experimented with doing "the sparkly bit." I bought a Christmas ornament a couple years ago, swapped the clear LEDs with yellow, candle effects ones and seeing how that goes. The tough part, how / where to put the fiber. The cannon is clear, so I thought of gluing it outside, but then that will leave marks or can be seen. The next one was to drill holes and place them, but the same thing. All glues eventually yellow the clear plastic. So I'm stuck thinking about it in my spare-spare time (which there isn't much of). - MT

Your setup looks great Arbit! I'm considering messing with Arduino. It's just time I'm lacking. - MT

Che sembra IMPRESSIONANTE Andrea! (That looks AWESOME Andrea)! I like your pilot too! He looks like a buddy I had in Brindisi! - MT -
That looks cool NZEOD! I can tell your priorities - paint the model THEN the wall. I think you're right on - MT

Thanks for the micro LED link. That's not a bad price and pre-wired too! - MT

It can crush Coke cans! Looks cool, especially with lighting! - MT

Sorry NZEOD! I feel your pain (the pain you can't feel anyhow ). From the first photo to the second photo... My two year old somehow got up on my shelves and just LOVED what was in the box - no matter how many time she got chewed out! Never did get it totally restored. Had rubber tires too. - MT

It looks stubbly cool! - MT

We need a Zentraedi to step on the spam bot! This is another thread they hit. - MT -
NZEOD, I actually built up the original VF-4 in vinyl. The trick is to heat up pieces in hot water (don't boil 'em) and then get them to line up and fit better. Then just superglue and fill a little if needed. Nope, you can't sand it. I had to shave it with an XActo where the parts just didn't fit right. Still looked cool though! - MT

It's looking good! - MT

I think the dual hooks in the picture (go anime magic!) would work. The arms would get ripped off with hooks on them Two hooks is a lot of extra weight though in reality. But there is no center line. Plus you get an extra chance! Looking at our aircraft every week; I think it might be possible. - MT

Wow! I missed a whole thread of stuff doing schoolwork! Those stands came out great NZEOD! With all that green in your life, you need a computer to dub background graphics into it like a movie set - MT
