On the shelf, the destroids will just sit in there. On the water the decks will probably be cleared to make the hanger decks lighter. It gets windy here and I'll have to do some tests first (I'm afraid a good wind might capsize it - can you say "list". But it will probably run "clean." A few people have said I'm nuts. But you know, nothing ventured nothing gained. This will be my "display case."

Thanks Tinderfitles! No preasure, right! It's just the fate of the earth and so on and so on . Valkyriepm, I'd love to get some stuff photoetched. I just didn't want to pay that dear for it. How much did it cost you if you don't mind me asking? UPDATE 12 JUNE 07 I got most of the bow skeleton done. I found a great place for gearboxes and small motors. I'm going to need them for the elevators, cranes and other effects. I'm almost thinking of adding a sound module to it, similar to the 1/350th Yamato http://www.hlj.com/product/ban946749 . The screw up with the frame I talked about earlier works to my advantage and came out perfect anyhow - Thank God! I printed my plans in full scale and printed them out on standard paper. My printer squints the artwork so everything was a little off from page to page. [attachmentid=42930] The plans for an idea of the profile. [attachmentid=42931] Plans with skeleton beside it. [attachmentid=42932] A 3/4 view. [attachmentid=42933] Overall so far. I'm surfin' for supplies now! - MT

I would do you wrong if I didn't seend you the whole page: Build Ups Page Go down about midway and look for the VF-GBP armor with missiles flying out thumbnail. Check out the other buildups there for ideas too. The cool part, the Macross stuff there is 1/200th scale. Well done for the size. - MT -
It looks good so far. What materials are you using (beside wood)? - MT

That looks great man. I think you just came up with the solution Australia has whith what to replace some of it's aircraft with! - MT

Big F, for two cents more I would have made the Daedalus 1/144. These things and so many standard kits are 1/144. It drives me nutz!!! I could have gotten armor and tons of contemporary aircraft in 1/144th too! I'm gonna stop banging my head against the wall the wall now and get back to building! - MT -
Can't wait to see how it comes out in 7+ days. - MT

I can get a loan for that low! Ah, I mean lookin' good so far. I hate fillin' sink holes. Keep the updates comin.' - MT

HWR, looks like you found a suitable girlfriend for the monster . The kit looks good too, and huge! Cowie, tell the bean counter your diorama looks great. I didn't know the difference. - MT

Jardann, Greyryder knows someone who would like your setup . You're right though. Pilot lights don't go good with paint, unless it's all water based. Thanks Chas for the link! I never thought of the whole gravity issue. Smaller velocity equals a quieter booth. I could leave it on for gluing too! Brain cells are becoming a commodity. - MT -
Weasel-rific man. Hasegawa should still make the weapons in 1/48th. I'm guessing it's not a "canon" design? - MT

Looks great man! Hopefully you got a shelf where they and the monster can go together. - MT

Thanks for the encouragement. We can have a pitty party together! I just had to redraw my plans last night. I measured the Monster model assembled and found out the example I was using was two inches off. That four inches off for two monsters. Then the ramps positioned in one photo gave no room for the Daedalus attack mode. That means all the frame work will not work as I wanted to. Time for some adjustments. By the way, what's up with the Promethius? - MT

Yeah, I gave up the dream of being a pyro technician when you don't see many of them visiting your school when your a kid . I never heard of renting a brake before. I'll try that some day probably. That would have saved me using the hinged bit of my workbench! Of course with aluminum it was no big deal. If I owned the house I have now, I would actually build a proper exit for the exhaust. That way I could still use the window for air. A/C in houses is not common place around here. About two weeks of extreme heat (90/100) and then back to good ole Atlantic storms coming through. The other option is just do what I did, disconnect the dryer, connect your hose to it, and set the booth up ON IT! The take it down on laundry days. Just don't tell your better half. "Honey what's that smell?" Uh, new fabric softener honey ! - MT -
Thanks guys! I'm working out the anime magic problem now of how to do the Daedlus Attack mode and making the mecha fit in there. The problem is one drawing shows the internal ramps in the way of the mecha when the hatch and ramp open up. I think I can find a middle ground though. Another drawing doesn't show the ramps at all in that area!?? I want some blueprints man! I'm spending a lot of time just staring at drawings figuring out where to put stuff. - MT

Jardann, how immature man! I used black powder ! I'm surprised I didn't blow somone/thing up! Pfunk, that's what I'm hoping to do when I settle down, someday. A proper shop and spraybooth. When I spray the Daedalus I'm half thinking about taking it to an auto paint shop to be done . I just can't get a booth that big! - MT -

Oh yeah, that's where it was, thanks. I wouldn't mind getting one either. I haven't found any anywhere just doing a cursory search. - MT -
You just can't win sometimes with the whole yellowing part. I whish UV would bleach it out instead! - MT

I'm thinkin', yes to all the above. No thrusters on the Monster other than those four 40cm babies. - MT

Ultimately I have seen people just take a ventilation blower and run a length of 4" hose out the window. I got some heavy gauge cardboard and some computer fans (the motors are brushless so there's no source of ignition). The trick is getting enough air movement and at the same time using a motor that is brushless or drives the fan off of a belt drive. You don't want to be happily spraying away and then have your stuff blow up in your face. That would take the fun out of it . - MT -
Good detail work. I always thought that was an unusual design. - MT

I haven't heard of this stuff, but I want to know something about it too. I can see myself using it on white areas. I know white ABS usually yellows, even if they do add preventatives. Chemicals seem to break down, but not the sun. - MT

Looking great! If only I had the room and budget... - MT
