  1. I didn't know there was a 1/8000 cruiser mode; cool! Let me know if you can't find the scans, I'll see what I can do. Those mods DID make it look ten times better. - MT
  2. People would REALLY love to see the 1/5000 kits re-released because they were the best injection kit interpretations of the SDF-1. The 1/8000 Storm Attacker unfortunately is the only one in current production. I don't believe there was ever an injection molded kit of the SDF-1 in cruiser mode. Do check ebay every now and then. I've actually found the 1/5000 on there for reasonable prices (all things considered). I think someone here a couple years ago actually converted one, try a search. - MT
  3. Hey Neptune. Right now it DOES have the obligatory missiles and gunpod. I'm contemplating the armor (and would like it myself), but it will need new legs to be made. What do you guys all think? - MT
  4. As long as Valkyrie still wants to cast them, it's up to him. The fighter is basically done, I'm just working on a very special stand to stick it on. More to come later... - MT
  5. You just need a picture of Kakizake getting blown up in the lower right hand corner That looks great! - MT
  6. Thanks for sharing the video! My son and I thought it was great! - MT
  7. I think you're problem with the paint was that it's gloss. I've had gloss take a week to fully cure. Flat on the other hand fully cures within hours. The colors are limited (like for flat colors) but Krylon's paints are great. If you want a gloss finish, then you can always apply a gloss coat later. The key to making the decals come out good is having a gloss coat on before/after putting them on. That and the Micro Sol will make them nearly like they were painted on. If you want a flat finish, that comes after the gloss. Hopefully that all makes sense. - MT
  8. Looks great! I think the only thing the cockpit is missing is a flux capacitor - MT
  9. That looks great! I was wondering when you were going to get back to this. I don't think the mustard is too far off. It will be great to see this thing all lit up! - MT
  10. He he, the clip was pretty cool, but yes, does not have "THE" look of the original. The SD clip was funny. They must have started using paintballs after Max and Millia got married - MT
  11. Lookin' good! I like the scheme and offset stripes. - MT
  12. Thanks guys! Contact Valkyrie (also posted in this thread) to see if he still has some. This started out as just a project to make me copies, so I don't know if he has any left. - MT
  13. Thanks a lot Jipe, I appreciate it! Here's my son's assembled (he wanted it in Itano Circus mode) - MT
  14. Well, I finally got one built and painted up! Thanks again Valkyrie for casting these for me! Here's the finished product. Please bear with my horrible painting, especially for something this small! I had to keep repainting after touching painted parts since there's no good place to hold or clamp this thing. The next build will be with missile hatches open ready to take out, well, whatever is only 1.5" high I hope you guys like it! The problem with having to use a magnifying lense is it shows EVERY FLAW and texture. - MT
  15. Awesome looking Mike! Can't wait to see the whole thing together! - MT
  16. Now I have a place to install those overtechnology turbines I've got laying around This would be PRIME to do a detailed buildup - or lose your sanity over - MT
  17. Ouch! My eyes are already starting to hurt just thinking about painting this! Still waiting on it to be relaesed too. - MT
  18. The planes and raider look great guys! - MT
  19. For duplicates, I double them up in one box. In fact, sometimes I forget what's in what box. IF the boxart is worthy, I keep it. Otherwise it goes when the model is built. - MT
  20. The F-35 has an integrated 25mm vulcan cannon except the "B" model which has that massive fan in the same location. You think they'll put a pistol grip handle on the pod? - MT
  21. I've never had any problems with HLJ other than the high cost of shipping from Japan and I DON'T own stock in them . Some things are out of their control. One day something is "green" and the next it is "skull and crossbones" no longer available. I've found it's due to the manufacturer. No complaints otherwise. - MT
  22. Looking good Herve! - MT
  23. That's too bad its that far off. You can google "Preiser 1:100 figures" and find a few places that sell them. They're accurate and well detailed. There's also the Gundam ones too in 1:100, but of course they look "Gundamish" - MT
  24. Well, it's not bad considering it was the world's first jet fighter designed for use as carrier-based night fighter. You gotta start somewhere. They did missile tests with them. You can add some sparrows to it - MT
