  1. and that is why I've never bought a v2 kit. I prefer DYRL grey and the DYRL 1A head and pilot.
  2. Finished some basic panel lining. The black paint, unlike previous DXes, is very sensitive to rubbing alcohol. THe silver is the same as the one used on the 171 so it'll rub off easy with rubbing alcohol. be careful when doing washes and wiping off the excess. On a side note, my 171 CF looks so naked without underwing stores like they had in like every scene in Macross F.. September cannot come sooner. Also.. the flaps on the wings have grey 171's....not no-steps. It just looks stupid to have 171 in those areas O_o
  3. Not without harpoints on the 25's. Hljand amiami units came in today. No duds yet, but got 4 more in the pipe from NY. Crossing my fingers 0_o
  4. Woo hoo, just found out I'm working night shift on sunday / monday / tuesday. Perfect for grabbing a preorder on my tablet PC
  5. wow that sucks macrossjunkie. BTW, that's a great picture showing how the boob plates are thinner than the 171exes. You had to have the boob plates folded out on the 171ex before you put the nose in otherwise they'd block the rails and cause mass headaches lol.
  6. while some of the parts have changed the majority of the 27 seems to be the same with just a lil extra tampo. Will be a must-buy since they fixed the hips yaaay ALso pretty glad it's going to have a clear green canopy. I prefer that look over the stock.
  7. my 5 from NY are still in prep. I ordered these on the 2nd opening of the window the day after preorder start :0 Seriously why do I even bother paying for EMS when they take a week to ship anyways?
  8. It's the Hasegawa 1/72 with special markings by Tenjin. Hyper Hobby needs to do more research as they speculate in the article about if it transforms, etc. The Dengeki clearly says Hasegawa kit in cooperation with Arcadia.
  9. THe pins were hit and miss on all my 3 171 exes. The pins on the armor pack wings were a little better though. In the end, I just ended up supergluing the pins in after I got the armor pack wings installed which is why they are 100% flush now in fighter mode. 99% sure I'll do the same to my CF's in october after the armor packs are released.
  10. USPS / EMS has always been fine for me, but we have a 24/7 doorman for our condo so I guess that changes things
  11. got ship notice from HLJ and amiami, but the ones from NY are still prep in progress. OH well my 6 Cannon Fodders will take a while
  12. Basically he mention the pin feels tighter and that he didn't even have to worry about pin popping out during photography. As for the chest plate, basically they changed the internal frame so that it's easier to get the nose back in flush in fighter / gerwalk mode even if you forget to fold the front plate in. (Common problem when trying to go from Battroid -> gerwalk on the VF171ex) I'm glad Bandai is making fixes to these things
  13. Wow, the VF-25 / YF-29 shoulders are so easy to put back in place for fighter mode. Index finger below, behind the bar for leverage while the thumb presses the shoulder into place. It works on all 3 VF-25 releases... (1/72 Model, v1, v2)
  14. As much as I love Yamatos and their valks, they obviously weren't running a sound business because they are, you know, closed. Bandai should appeal to the Export market? Yeah? the same one that kept Yamato alive right? Bandai's conservative approach , while frustrating for overseas collectors, is understandable.
  15. So the ARmored packs are the same color as the VF-171EXes..... gonna need to resolve that with my airbrush. I don't see the rocket pods that normally go on stations 2 and 5. It better come with those for those of us who are just going to have naked CF"s with missiles like they're seen in most of the TV show. *Edit, scratch that, just read the contents list. The Rocket pods are listed in entry 7 right under the nukes.
  16. HLJ only allows one per customer anyways so there was no point in ordering another from them, only for it to be cancelled (I got one earlier this month when the RVF and CF's reopened)
  17. THe 1/250 valks are going to be wayy too big for the quarter. Also, I don't think there will be a renewal of the quarter. It was not popular and has been sitting on shelves for what? 4 years now? For a Bandai Chogokin that's an eternity
  18. NY sources these things from other stores most the time. The worker just forgot to take the tag off lol.
  19. Kurisama's Varja Control missiles came in from Shapeways. Fit was almost perfect, just removed the little round pegs in the middle since bandai's hardpoints don't need them and they were slightly too wide in diameter. Now that I know shapeways is so nice I'm going to buy some underwing 1/60 hps and some high manuever missiles. Just wish Kurisama would also make the other Mac F missiles with yammy HPs so that I could start arming my VF-25's
  20. a lot of things don't look right on that print out. The backpack looks way too far back. The nose looks funny and the proportions in fighter mode feel... off. I dunno. Maybe we'll see something different in the test shot.
  21. I think I'm gonna have to polish off those no steps on the wing undersides.
  22. Saw a YF-19 from a private collector on Amazon for 205.99 shipped. Took one look at the pics he sent me and snapped it up instantly Never thought my 1/60 YF-21 would have its archrival in the display case
  23. Easiest way to make the head movable is to just pin it with a pin-vise and paperclip. The paperclip will give it enough stability to stay on so you can turn it
  24. They haven't changed at all. The supers are an absolute mess. The regulars take a little TLC to get them to not have such huge gaps in fighter. However, the tornado and Armored releases are top-notch complete with locking mechanisms for a tight fighter mode. Still, if you can get the bare valks for cheap I'd say get them. Even without painting and a little panel-lining they can go a long way.
