Um.... I know... the 1/72 Bandai VF-1. The VF-25 isn't bad at all, just the decals suck -
Bandai 1/72 fully transform able VF-1 plastic kit for Macross 30th Ann

The whole joy of Bandai Gunpla was that you could put less than 8 hours into a model kit and end up with something that was by no means a WM-cheng-build but good enough to diplay on the desk and enjoy looking at. Just look at the VF-25's.... The 1/72 armored Alto builds up in less than 8 hours and retails for 8000-ish while the DX will run you 22000 retail. In real-world prices the model is more like 6000-ish while the DX + parts prolly be in the 30000 range. The Models offer people a chance to have a nice display piece (albeit with some elbow grease) without having to pony up big bucks for Yammies or Bandai DX Chougokins. *yeah I know ozzie's helmet is wrong The VF-1 falls pretty short of even the mark the now 6-year-old 25's set for Bandai Macross :0 Considering the plethora of alternatives available on the subject (even the Yammy kit can be found for pretty close in price and is actually more accurate) and the numerous flaws I uncovered on my Bandai VF-1 During Building , I honestly couldn't recommend this kit to ANYONE who is expecting the casual gunpla experience. This thing will raise your blood pressure and after you build it and even look at the legs wrong, they will hemmorage various pieces like it's going out of style. So Bandai kit in the closet out of view, hellow Hi-metal vf-1s, 1/48 yammies in the display cabinet -
Wow, ocean day. Why cant we westerners get vague national holidags like that :0

I guess I must be lucky. Haven't had a Macross F valk crumble on me yet O_o. ON the other hand, I will have my first broken valk in a week or two. Just purchased this broken Renewal Ozzi for under 100 and will try my hand at restoring the wing. I already checked my current VF-25's and the piece is going to be thick enough to be pinned so a repair wont' be too hard

Well, one of my HLJ vf-25F's just went to "being packed" so I guess we're ok.

The Japanese modelers are hating this according to the reviews on amazon japan (currently only at two stars) http://www.amazon.co.jp/product-reviews/B00C0NS0KW/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1 The funniest review I've seen is the first 1 star which states: こんなひどいものなら、出さないで欲しかった。 時間の無駄、です。 Translation: Because it's so bad I wish it never came out. A Waste of time. -
WOW. a yammy..er...arcadia box worthy of displaying

Finally somebody makes a macross stand that holds stuff O_o I wonder if the mount / pivot point is really that big or it's just the angle

Just bendy ones ALso, did anyone notice their reissue had a really oily gun? I had to wipe if off with some rubbing alcohol.

To Think I was going to use the beautiful Advanced Valkyrie Cartograph decals from the hase clear editions on one of these.....woulda been a total waste -
After being on the fence on this one for a while I'm gonna pass. I already got the 1/48 skull squadron with fastpacks and those imho are such an impressive display I could care less about the 1/60 V2/3's. (though I did get a 30th 1J anniversary just to support arcadia)

Preordered 3 ends up being like 640 bucks after EMS.... thank God I work a side job just to finance Macross
-
I'm only irked that this Isamu color doesn't have Isamu in his Mac + flight suit.... it's just a recolored VF-25 / YF-29 figure :0
-
Honestly pretty happy with the Bandai's as it is. Will buy a few hases though just because they'll be dirt cheap.
-
Screw it. Gonna get three. I love being early thirties single
-
at this point I could care less what the cost is. I'm going to get one O_o

Thank god I had fun-money set aside for this sucker since May. NO budget drama on 08/10 when HLJ charges me.
