Also the legs aren't flush on the sides like they are on the 30 which accounts for a little gappiness, especially when you look at the legs' ourterpanels and how they line up with the wings. I guess it was way easier on the 30 cuz the legs had much simpler (and straight) geometry

Wow that NY price was nice, but I already snagged one from HLJ so I didn't really care to check other sites lol
  3. Part of me is like " ooooh, I really want to get these!" But then the other part of me says "pay 20 bucks more and get a Naked Hi-metal" I also still have the entire Series 1 and 2 of the 1/144 chara works valks O_o
  4. I picked up the models because the V1's were god awful. I then picked up the Renewals later on because had the aesthetics of the models with the locking and playability of toys. Doing a side by side the renwals have like 90% or more of the same paneling detail as the models so if you really wanted to you could really make a renewal look pretty nice. The fighter and gerwalk modes blow the model out of the water in terms of looks and stability. The Battroid is prolly a close tie. You also don't need adapter pieces for gunpods (cept on the RVF-25) or separate hands to facilitate a perfect transformation either. You get what you pay for considering retail renewal is over 3x the price of the models.
  5. REALLY? Paint guns? Bruh......... F that. If It was a figure set or something it'd be a totally different story
  6. Pretty much the only way to get an Armored VF-25 at a reasonable price is to buy the 1/72 model or settle for the craptastic V1. The V2 Armored parts will only continue to become more and more expensive unless Bandai for some reason does a release either as a bundle or something. (maybe an Itasha) However, with Macross Delta stuff coming out soon I doubt we'll see a revisit to the Macross F DX line for quite some time. YF-25 is just like all the other VF-25s and has no holes. However, it does have hardpoint markers so you know where to glue the missiles. I literally just clipped off the connectors from the missile pylons, sanded them flush, used a pin vise to drills holes in both the wings and pylons, and then pinned and super glued them on.

Yeah the Brexit hammered Asian Exchange rates. Will need to wait a few for the markets to stabilize again.
  8. Just wait for somebody on MW to offload their sets. I just sold an Ozzy armored set for 265 shipped in a heartbeat :0
  9. I Just canceled by VF-31J PO. There's no stock pilot fig and I'm planning on making a non-hayate valk :0 Will just have to settle for the VF-31S and then maybe an A or so down the line.
  10. Anyone check out the new-ish Page Bandai put up for this 1/72 line? http://bandai-hobby.net/site/character_macrossd/scalemodel.html Some nice pics and even a nice PDF download Here's some quick snaps of the brochure It's looking to be some great insight to how everything moves around on the VF-31, though we already had a good idea from the YF-30. Also, a pic of the straight from box build without paint. Looks like a lot of decaling / stickering / painting, but we expected that. . *EDIT* SPRUE PICS from This Blog

I'll just grab one from CDJ or AE. Also need to make more DYRL pilots since the TV ones are microscopic
  12. OOOOOH Pretty BOXES (courtesy of Tag hobby)
  13. Pretty sure they'll release standalone supers. Sure it'll be a pain to unassemble to install the suler specific parts but whatev
  14. The problem is everyone that wanted one already had one from 2012. Rereleasing the exact same toy without any sort of change is kinda meh
  15. Anyone who has bought aftermarket pits for modern aircraft models are pretty used to the price. Some aftermarket pits cost more than the kit itself lol.
  16. BoxARt via Taghobby The Battroid is looking pretty legit Landing gear is comically bad but what'd you expect it's Bandai Only concern is the Rotation joint for the gerwalk A-stance is the same as the DX VF-19; right behind the intake instead which is kinda awkward to pose. On a side note, It's nice to know this guy will have tabs for a solid fighter mode, you can see the tab in the gerwalk pic near the back of the wings.
  17. It never had elbow swivels so it's a custom job for sure.
  18. Hello old yamato buying habits. We missed u. (ie wait for big hlj sale)
  19. She's some creepy moe character made up to promote the plakit hobby in general, cuz apparently creepy moe anime girls make anything marketable *cough*kancole*cough* notice she's carrying Nippers. her name is Nipa - Ko, which basically means Nipper Kid....... http://www.28ko.jp/

I am not concerned at all about securing a preorder. Will just hit anime export since a lot less people like paying upfront
  21. Seeing then stickers for this clear set leads me to believe the bandai kit will need much painting to look the same as the show. Dont expect crazy multi color injection like on some gundam kits
  22. Not unexpected. Wave macross kits have pretty crazy prices, prolly cuz they arent selling as much volume a, say, their Ma.k line

Let's just hope all the 31's are matte like the last two new chassis that were released (vf-19/yf-30)
