  1. Favorites: 1. DX VF-171EX Luca - EWACS Nightmare valk? What more is there to say? 2. DX VF-171EX Maruyama / Alto - Solid Valk that is beautiful in all 3 modes. I love how the VF-171 is old-school without all the wings sticking out in the back crap 3. DX VF-171 CF (even with the crappy shoulders). Nothing beats Cannon fodders even if their toy representations feature ultra-realistic shattering. I own Freaking 12 of these things and If they made a Macross Delta CF-171 dear god save me Least favorites: 1. Yamato VF-1 V1 Series. I only bought them because they were the only game in town. Super Meh, even though I bought one on super duper sale from Jerry at VF1x.com waaaay back in the day 2. Yamato YF-21 / VF-22. Getting the legs back into fighter mode and god forbid rolling the valk backwards when its landing gear is out 3. Yamato V2 YF-19. Exploding dorsal hinge and biceps I am sure if I had owned a Bandai V1 VF-25 it'd make the worst list as well. Conclusion: Duy has irrational love of VF-171's
  2. holy crap I never noticed that O_O that's crazy attention to detail in the original. Maybe they didn't want to make two sets of animations for both sides in the remake
  3. I just finished unlocking everything in Wonder Boy 3: Dragon's Trap. It was totally worth the 20 bucks and it ran beautifully on the switch in both mobile and docked modes. But then again it's an entirely 2D game hehe. After playing wonderboy all the other remakes I've seen feel so... meh in comparison lol

Distance is meaningless when your package arrival speed is determined by the whims of your postal services; especially if you opted for el-cheapo shipping that doesn't have a guaranteed shipping speed/time Case and point... my Side Labor Ingram Unit 2 shipped end of March, arrived in New York on 4/1 and has been sitting there for 25 days. Just knowing your new toy is sitting less than a mile away from where you work and is stuck there because post office people and customs really take their time is frustrating to say the least

I transformed my 31F to battroid and proceeded to be repulsed at the head. I then realize I didn't notice how ugly it was because I never saw it in the show outside of like the first episode. 31F will stay in Fighter mode. I hope they release Death Scissors smoke trails for the 31F since that's all ever saw it do in the show

I didn't like mini Milia. Had to use inspiration from how she looks in Macross Delta Scramble with her red DYRL pilot suit

I had them ship via EMS. NY CUstoms is wildly inconsistent. I have a side-labor ingram 2 that only took 2 days to get from HK to US, but has been in customs for 32 days lmao

canopy is molded in blue and it's retarded. I Just borrowed the clear canopies from one of my 1A's that's in battroid.

My bank sux ass.... sooo.. i just pre-fund my paypal account a few days before payment date and I've never had a problem since. Just need to make sure not to get tempted and use those sitting paypal funds on an impulse buy, that's all......yeah.......
  13. I don't think I like the moe-Eve.........but I'm biased towards Mikimoto's green/purple-haired Minmay clone ;p

WOW..... how could they miss something like that O_O
  15. Yeah, it's a bigger size difference than I thought. Even though I have a crapload of CM's I'll prolly collect this line. If you want a bunch of CM's stuff like Econo Ingrams, Brokens and even a Peacekeeper for super cheap lemme know lol. Today I nabbed some flory's model wash and did a 5-minute black-line job on the main sections. Might consider doing the small rivets on the shoulders and knees later on. The stand adapter was a great idea for this figure... BUUUUUT..... the stand connects to the back instead of the butt so it really limits what kind of poses you can do with the stand Looks great when you do get a decent pose though
  16. Man... seeing this thread pop up again makes me miss the Fat Valks of the 90's. Now they're all thin and lanky and have ginormous wings sticking out back
  17. not an awful price for Unit 1. The question is... does whoever buy it have the mental fortitude to search for Unit 2? O_o
  18. Comparison pic vs Revoltech, CM's, 1/35 MG and 1/24 Yammy Revoltech is smaller than I remembered. Figure stands between revoltech and CM's for scale. Side Labor fits in a weird spot. It's 2x the price of the revoltech and 1/2 the price of the Brave Gohkin. Comparing the heads of the Side Labor to the Brave Gohkin I feel the rounded curves of the Gohkin look better, but that's just my opinion VS
  19. It only took 40 days, but my Ingram finally came in via SAL (USPS ISC NY is THE WORST...literally took 2 days from JPN to USA, then 38 days from NYC to where I live in NJ...3 miles away) The side labors are tiny as I expected since the Robot Damashii stuff is around the same size. It's about the same size as the revoltechs and it pretty much 100% plastic except for the metal rods in the joints and the screws. Articulation is very impressive, beating just about everything else out there including the revoltechs. All the joints are pretty solid and not floppy. Head articulation is the only gripe; the way the way the joint is set up dramatically limits horizontal movement. Other downsides are that it feels very light and fragile and that small pieces like the antennae, shield and ankle guards pop off like crazy. The size makes this figure even easier than the CM's for displaying in small spaces. The premium price though makes me wish it was a little bigger and had better head articulation. Overall I'd rank these as: BEST - CM's Brave Gohkin 2nd - Side Labor 3rd - CM's non Brave Gohkin They are 1000x better than CM's non gohkin, but not as good bang per buck as the CM's Gohkin stuff. Will have comparison pics tomorrow when I'm home from work -Duy
  20. the releases are even split to reduce wallet shock thank god
  21. God I need to resist the urge to add more to the model backlog

    Bandai DX VF-31

Not even. I had a YF-29 take a tumble (dam wive's cats) and I ended up with a broken fin so I sanded and polished it right off. I actually kinda like the new look lol. Might do the same to my VF-31F

    Bandai DX VF-31

man.. the more I look at the VF-31F and that weird antennae the more I wanna remove it. When mine arrives at the end of the month I'm totally going to see if I can remove it without doing too much damage
  24. When weapons are scarce you need to get creative with how you kill stuff. Throw bombs at everything or if there's metal objects like crates, use magnesis and slam the metal objects into bad guys for free easy kills. You can even wait until night time and sneak up on bokoblins when they sleep. Grab their wapons so that when they wake up they are unarmed and super easy to kill. Try to never fight more than one bad guy at a time. If there's more than one keep running away so that some of them give up and peel off.
