It's granted it's usually always cheaper to get the real exchange rate and import from Japan. However, in the US at least the other 1/100's are retailing in the $50-60 range at most online shops and the real kicker from P-bandai is the shipping cost that's always 10 bucks when almost all other online stores have free shipping incentives for orders over a threshold. If gamlin at least comes with waterslide decals off the bat like many 1/100 P-bandai gundam kits I won't feel as bad.
-
Considering Gamlin was P-bandai and was the first mold of the VF-22 I'm just going to assume M&M's also gonna be P-Bandai
-
lol I just got the same copy paste. I think maybe Bandai will realize they dun goofed And as for timelines as long as I get my replacement parts I'm fine. At least I don't habe to go through a 3rd party to get in touch with Bandai like we have to for SDFM and DYRL stuff
-
That sounds like a lot of fun /s I'm still kinda miffed Bandai didn't add Detents like Yamato did over 20 years ago
-
I guess this isn't super popular as it can still be bought from places like HLJ https://www.hlj.com/hi-metal-r-vf-19-kai-fire-valkyrie-banc660855

2nd copy arrived from USA Gundam Store. Straight headlaser and no broken canopy which was a relief.
-
After transforming it to battroid is there something I missed because the ankles don't lock in at all and can still rotate freely. Though they're rachet joints I don't think I can trust them to keep the figure standing long term. Maybe I should just keep it on the stand permanently? O_o On a side note I reached out to Kappa Hobby and they directed me to https://www.bandai.com/returns-replacements so I made the request for a replacement canopy and headlaser. *Link is only good for USA YF-21's that have the Bamco warning label like below
-
Yeah the fins are solid unlike the full set, though I don't understand why they were ever changed in the first place I preferred the color matched base from the vf-19 advanced. I just picked up a copy for battroid. was kinda surprised they included yang but didn't also give us the part to fill in the backseat 😕
-
The battroid canopy uses the same brittle plastic but I decided to sacrifice it and started removing the paint. comes off super ez with IPA imagine paying 300 bucks to avoid masking a canopy only to do it anyways cuz Bandai 🤡🤡🤡

@$$#$@?$!#?$?@ I iust realized my yf-21 is missing a chunk out of the fighter canopy It's clearly missing the other side that should also have a tab
-
Sadly I had planned for this. Imagine having to do work on a 300 dollar toy if there was a hasegawa 1/48 yf-21 fighter I would rather have gotten that Removed Antenna Did several passes of heat gun followed by quickly clamping with a non-textured plastic clamp It's not 100% but at least it passes the shelf-check and stress mark is gone (but the stress mark to my heart will never fade)

The instructions were pretty clear but the head is on pretty tight. The other issue is the antennae interferes with getting the valk on the fighter stand unless you angle it just right so it's easy to get pressure on it from either you or the stand if it's not in the right place :0 Bandai shuolda just made it a solid ABS peg unglued so it could turn freely
-
I also broke mine when I was turning the head. Luckily some drilling with a 1mm bit on a pin vise and a paperclip and krazy glue later it's stronger than factory XD
-
Also the fact that I bought many of my Yamato V2's back during the $60 fire sale days of late Yamato XD
-
It's not that there's no interest in the line, it's that there's a good amount of people who don't want to invest in another different scale VF-1 line as well as some people who aren't on board with the 'loud' black panel-lining look. If I didn't already have Yamato V2's, Hi-metals and DX VF-1's I'd totally pick up this line
-
maybe somewhere along the assembly line somebody is pushing down on the valk or the valks are put upside down in a hard surface :0
-
It's a good thing these are fictional aircraft then cuz it's been this way for 40 years Even Tenjin isn't immune
-
Artpla are just remastered / improved versions of the older soft vinyls but in plastic I thought. They look amazing but sadly I don't have as much time to invest in large-scale models like that and will stick to casual moderoids that only need a few parts painted here or there. I guess for now for anyone that does want high quality premades Robodou is basically the only game in town atm as Bandai ungloriously abandoned their side labor series years ago

I'm kinda surprised the Cyclone is a partsformer with those separate chest and crotch armor pieces
