	Blame Kawamori

One of our photoshop wizzes should do some repaints of the VF-19 Wonderfest pics

I gotta say i think the GU-15 is the best Macross gunpod to date. I'm wondering if the toy will be as glossy in the retail toy. Somehow I doubt it because the YF-21 was also showed off with a glossy paint job at first. As for the colour of the red I really hope they go with the darker red. The valk already looks good but I think a nice deep red (not too dark though) would take it to the next level.

Fighter mode is absolutely gorgeous. Battroid mode is badass. Gerwalk is aight but that was never the 19's strong point. My first thought on seeing the fighter profile: "Look ma, no gullet" lol

Dear Yamato, Stealth VF-19E please and thank you

Official 1/100 BANDAI Hi-Metal VF-1S Valkyrie with Strike PartsRaptor One replied to Actar's topic in Toys It's not a big deal but it is a complaint. On the Yamato, just like on the Hi-Metal, I usually just leave the intake covers on. But because the Hi-Metal requires you to swap the heat shield I always have to go get the heat shield or canopy when I want to switch between Fighter and Battroid. It's a bit of an inconvenience which the Yamato doesn't have. It would even be better if the heat shield just covered the canopy, instead of having to take off the canopy then put on the heat shield. But, it's a minor complaint. Like I said the Hi-Metal has the overall easier transformation. But that one thing is a bit more convenient on the Yamato.

I was looking at that earlier today actually. I prefer how the Yamato does the backpack in fighter personally. The legs of the Hi-Metal connect to the Backpack at too low a point. I also dislike the angle of the gunpod on the Hi-Metal. But I really like the shape of the bottom of the nose of the Hi-Metal. Lol it's kind of annoying that each toy has these little things it does right and wrong, I wish I could just swap some of the design decisions of the Yamato onto the Hi-Metal and vice versa. Hmm, maybe this new 1/48 line isn't such a bad idea lol

Official 1/100 BANDAI Hi-Metal VF-1S Valkyrie with Strike PartsRaptor One replied to Actar's topic in Toys Been playing with my Hi-Metal VF-1S since early January (late Christmas gift) and I gotta say this thing is almost perfect in Battroid mode (apart from the high backpack). I think I prefer the Yamato overall, especially for looks. But the Hi-Metal has it beat in terms of playability and ease of transformation (apart from the parts swapping).

I'm just curious as to why you say the Hi-Metal does the backpack better?

For the 2nd Frontier movie they should have someone mention Vanquish races offhand. That would be a really nice tie in. Or even have a sign in the background or sth

This takes place before the Frontier TV series right? So where were all these Ace pilots during the Vajra war?

This would be perfect. But they should start with a Macross The Ride OVA

Ahhhhhhh is that a Tenjin VF-25? Yes thanks

Yea the E would definitely be something I would get. It will probably come out after the Blazer etc tho. But yea a low vis E would be epic

It makes sense since the VF-9 is just a regular old valk and the rest are all Advanced VFs or greater. So the VF-9 is named after a dinky little cutlass while the rest are named after mythical swords lol But it's a variant of a base model with forward swept wings *shrug*
-
Only reason I didn't vote for the YF is because that's pretty much inevitable at SOME POINT. Definitely want an ACTIVE and Caliburn as my second choice
-
I just remembered: VF-9 Cutlass. I guess the forward wing VFs are all named after bladed weapons.
-
Lol Yamato no contest. Though impressively the Bandai looks pretty good even in comparison
-
Nice. Apart from the Mecha designs I'm really diggging the character designs.

You can see the colour samples here Hopefully they go with the darkest shade
-
If I do get one I wanna decal it up like this. The racecar look covered with corporate sponsors suits this valk too well

This sculpt is amazing. The only thing slightly bothering me is the gap in the chest but even that is minor (for me)

BAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!!! Ah man, thanks I needed that
