Thanks! Yeah I don't like how Bandai chooses to use 80s style bare diecast landing gear on a modern premium toy. It'd be like buying a brand new sports car with the suspension and tires of a Model T Ford. 

I don't know if the Tamiya silver spray is anything like the paint markers.

I use the Tamiya silver paint marker, I push down on it to retract the felt tip to get a pool going in a plastic lid, then dip my brush in it to paint from it (its a lacquer so you can thin it if you need to, but its a very smooth chrome finish without any visible glitter speckles).

Great shots Lolicon!  What a difference it makes to have the gears in white.  Might I suggest you painting that shock struct bright chromed silver, it does take it to the next level.

Thanks Lolicon about the tip about the Bandai Tampo, I was just going to use the Tamiya masking tape right on it - lucky I read your post first.  Have white gears makes so much of a difference!  Hopefully I can get to the VF-1J & VF-1S over the holidays.

I love that Saturn V - best kit ever!  Its such a pleasure to build.  Took a chance on the China knock-off lego on the LUT and it came out great.

You could get the Shuttle in cheap China knock off lego here - I'm very tempted, but it doesn't come with the stickers which I believe are key.

I was wondering too.  But I think I might use them, paint them black on the outside then grey colour and use a pin-vise to drill just enough to scratch off the paint to get more windows lit, because the holes they drilled are really only 1/2 the number of lit windows there are in the filming miniatures.  I think this is an easy way to get more lit windows without drilling all the way through - maybe, we will see when I get around to trying it.

It's pretty big, but I noticed they only paid 2100Y for EMS - so I don't know why the other place is asking for more shipping.
