  1. I can't seem to find anything on "Fighter Pilot" - is it also made by Jane? A little more detail please Thanks. Has anyone heard of Lock-ON? It still might be too realistic.
  2. Hey is there some equivalent arcade shooter type sims for the PC? - all the PC sims I've tried seemed just a little too involved for a short blast-em round. All I want is action and eye-candy.
  3. Nada... not much. After the VF-0, its been pretty quiet here. Looking for a job - so I didn't want anything to detract from that in case something starts up soon. And trying to conserve money. Been itching to do my 1/72 Hasegawa F-14A in the Jolly Rogers scheme to put next to the valks, or a 1/72 VF-1S in Roy's colours to put next to Roy's VF-0, but they would take a few weeks. I was looking at something shorter, maybe a Monogram Viper (I've got the resin cockpit and photo-etched parts) but that may take to long too. Just kind of in a holding pattern hoping that some of you guys will post to hold me though this dry spell.
  4. Sure, sounds like it could work. But I just used thinned flat black - in very light coats - amost a dusting. You might need a lot of the Tamiya clear smoke since its really light and doesn't show up on dark surfaces unless you coat it many times. The problem I might forsee is that due to the many coats you might need to see the smoke, you might end up "filling in" some of the engraved panel lines to the point where they may not read in an oil wash. You might want to do the oil wash before this "post-shading". Additionally, I've found out that a lighter post-shading also works on planes that are darker in colours - especially at the leading edges of the panel lines. David was nice enough to send me this pictures a little while ago to show some weathering on demonstration blue aircraft.
  5. Excellent work indeed LTSO!! I love the metallic sheen in the red. Thanks for sharing the photos - it really looks great. Have you thought about weathering the gun ports or rear thrusters a bit - just a bit of shading can bring out a lot. Can't wait to see your VF-22. Yeah, scratch building the interior is tough, especially since the kit has a flat-bottomed cockpit - Milia has to be cut at the waist! I guess you can't have the hinged legs and a hole for her to stick her legs through too . I scratch built a cockpit for her in my high-school days for your kit - its pretty crappy, but I keep it around for sentimental reasons now.
  6. Hi all, Does anyone have a english subbed version of the latest Operation 4 of Yukikaze, I'd like to finally find out what's going on after watching the raw version. Great mech dogfights and ships - too bad that there's no plot nor charactrers.
  7. Great work! LTSO. Try taking some pictures in natural daylight - the colours might be closer. Can't wait to see more when you are finished.
  8. I must qualify my vote; only if the HG version is "remastered/restored" and offers both original japanese soundtrack AND english dub (not the annoying Robotech voices) AND optional english subs.
  9. I like them. Its true, there is a bit of a QC issue - I had to totally take apart my fighter, and re-glue it all together so that everything was straight and aligned. But one that was done - I really am getting to like those bases that come with them. The are a bit "overly" dirty - but hey they're cheap and the Monster is good. Not as good as the K&M, but better than the Bandai.
  10. Wow, is there anyway I can get a copy of that from you Doryu2025? I'd gladly pay. Omigod LePoseur... what a deal!! Was that the Japanese Yahoo auctions or the north american one? Any other deals like that around? or willing to part with yours
  11. Well... to put my 2 cents worth. I'm no fan of HG either, but I would still like to see a dubbed version of DYRL. I liked the Toho LD version "SuperSpace Fortress Macross" which was dubbed. I'd just like the option on a future DVD release to have both the english and japanese dialog with a english sub. I love the artwork in the animation, and find subs too distracting - I guess I could see it a few more dozen times so that I don't read the subs anymore I just hope that if they dub it, they use different voice talents than the original Robotech versions (Minmay's just too irritating).
  12. Forget it, I found the topic - too bad its HG!
  13. Hi all, I know of the distain for dubbed versions of Macross - however, I still like this particular version - its complete (unedited) and it was a good quality transfer. The dubbed voices were only "semi" irritating - but it allows me to fully enjoy the picture, instead of trying to read whats going on. I rented this disc many years ago and video taped it. Does anyone have this particular LD anymore? How much does it fetch - if I could buy one? What I would love is a rip of this LD to DVD - does anyone have a digital file of this version? Any info on this particular disc would help. Thanks,
  14. Wow, thanks Graham - the scans are really great!! Man they have skills, especially at all those tiny moving joints - Man! I can't even make just the canopy open and close via hinge!! That's something to really aspire to. Too bad with all that CGI that there is still so much proportions change between the fighter and battroid mode. I'm sure Hasegawa will eventually join the bandwagon and produce these kits (but I'm still waiting for the armoured VF-1!) So do those little coloured art images in the lower left corners come from some art book? Are there any art books for Macross Zero yet - especially mecha designs? I'd love to get my hands on them! Thanks again Graham, and thank your wife for sharing you - I completely understand
  15. Hey are there any more pictures out there on that Y-Wing? Any chance Cobywan can get me an Y-Wing or put me in touch with Alfred Wong for one (under the table - "cash no tax!" as we chinese like to say ) I'd like to find out more about it - how big (scale) is it, how much was it for?
  16. With the fast packs on - I need to build a VF-1 with packs and the landing gears down! Beside the next generation...
  17. I wonder if we could try to hinge the flaps the next time around...
  18. This would be cool if I had all the weapons laid out - too bad I don't have any for the YF-19 (my resin kit isn't built) nor any for the VF-0 yet.
  19. Just too much of a size difference between the VF-0 and the VF-1
  20. Hey a sunny day and I've got some time... Hey GobotFool, check out my step-by-step thread, it outlines the steps I used for the panel lines and weathering. JA Dare, I would consider it safe to go hand held down as far as 1/15 sec - as long as the camera is properly held (2 hands) close to the body and you are in the proper stance. I've shot as slow as 1/8 bracing my body. But anything over 1/30 you don't really have to worry about unless its moving or you are at extreme zoom 100mm or more. The new VF-0's weathering almost makes the others brand spanking new...
  21. Absolutely inspired scheme - I never really liked the SV-51 (didn't think it look too aircraft like) especially with that red scheme. But your flanker scheme is making me think twice about this kit. Again, great job - let's see some nice finished pics soon.
  22. Wow! Nice Y-Wings - are those completely scratch built, or is there some Y-Wing kit out there?
  23. Hey David, I for one would be really interested in see your progress and following along. I love this stuff and plan on doing a Hasegawa 1/72 F-14 sometime... Can't wait. I'd invest in a resin cockpit though, the Verlinden ones are only $10 bucks (plus they include seats!), and they look great - I don't care that much if at 1/72 scale if all the buttons are in the right place, but I do think that the cockpit should be more than just decals (unless you're gluing the canopy shut). As long as it looks cool overall, than that's more important than if all the toggles are in the right place! Good luck, looking forward to it.
  24. SPACE PROVING WING hmm... I'm not to sure about that, I guess its not too far of from SPACY I think I'll hold off for the VF-0D - unless they come out with a low-viz version. However, if someone had that SuperTomcat 14B, then this would look nice next to it.
