I too got a replacement helmet. Mine had a loose part and it wasn't in the color I asked for. This time I got the correct Yellow Helmet. I did have to send a couple follow up emails during the process as they tend to say the "helmet will be shipped out tomorrow" in every email. This time the helmet was tightly wrapped about 3 times with bubble wrap. Finally it was protected. There are few things about the helmet itself. First I think the yellow might be a shade off. The yellow that was used is a pleasant shade of yellow. I think Roy's... I mean the shade I wore is bit darker. Next the placement of the one of the screws was a centimeter or two off. This created a gap between the back piece and the jaw piece. I was able to take part the helmet to realign all parts but I can't get one screwsback in. Lastly they changed the method of how they attached the decals. With the previous helmet I was able to scratch it off with a credit card. This time things are permanently printed on the helmet. I'm going have to paint over them. In summary their quality control isn't perfect. They messed up with packaging. They have taken steps to fix things. I want to say what do you expect from a 3rd party? As a business they get a barely passing grade. Even with all this I'm still pleased with the helmets. If you're on the fence about getting one I say do it. Yes it might be a hassle but in the end you'll still get a neat collectable to put on your shelf.

I saw a commercial for it yesterday. Rated R? Is this rating to hurt the movie? It looks like another dumb teenagers save the day movie for teenagers to watch. Is this rating going to hinder the target audience from seeing it?

I added the False Alarm part to the topic's title. I didn't want people running in here assuming that it is a real thing.- 26 replies

macross: Skull Leader, Love Stories, and Remember Me

Pretty awesome project you got going. -
It is a joke. Ideally you'd have your now workshop and do the real thing. Not all of us have a workshop, machines or knowledge how to do it right. People have used cheap materials like cardboard and tape to create both amazing looking or horrible looking props.

Thanks for the pictures. While Yamato's design is more accurate I think the sizes of some the parts are a bit off. From certain angles the Masei helmet looks better even with the visible nuts and bolts. Now what are we going to do about chest armor? Is there any solution besides cardboard and duct tape?

I had zero problems related to Shipping damages only. I still have QC problems from the manufacturer. I still was sent a Red helmet when I requested a Yellow one. Because of the manufacturers QC problems I can not value these helmets beyond the preorder price. For the full asking price the arrows should be aligned and every bit of paint/decal applied correctly. As for the eBay prices. They should at least set a minimum asking price that isn't too far below the preorder price. I don't like seeing people getting a much better deal only 3 days after I got my helmet. Now can I have my Yellow helmet at the eBay prices please?

I wouldn't ride with it even if it was safe to do so. Even a minor tumble off a bike will result in the destruction of the add on Macross parts.

Maybe ill buy another at ebay prices.

Are some of you guys aware that they are using pictures that you posted here of you wearing your helmet on their Facebook page as an advertisement? You may not have given permission for that. If it was my image I wouldn't mind that much if it was a product that I support 100%. Until I started hearing reports of people getting their helmets fixed I wouldn't want my picture being used to advertise the helmet. Don't get me wrong I really love my helmet even with the QC issues. I simply lucked out with it surviving shipping. I have in a glass case right next to me. It is fun wearing it in front of a mirror. I just can't give my full stamp of approval on the helmet until other people's helmets are fixed.

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
Roy Focker replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This is a big budget Hollywood movie right? Scarlett Johansson is not Japanese or even Asian. She's a blonde Jewish girl from back East. She is also a big name known actress who has already appeared in several big budget Hollywood block buster movies. There might be a ton of actresses who will look the part and act it more truthfully but they don't have the star power that gets big budgets approved by the investors.- 751 replies

I ordered an X-Large even though my head indicated I needed a Large. It is a snug fit. Your ears bend to pull it on but bounce back to shape inside. You can forget putting in on with glasses like Max does. The chin piece is too narrow for glasses. You would have to take the helmet apart and re-screw together to wear glasses underneath.

I got mine! If you've guessed Factory Quality Control Cosmetic Problems Only you guessed (mostly) right. Holy crap did I luck out! The shipping box only had one broken corner. Most if not all of defects are cosmetic only. I'm talking about missing paint at spots. I'm not going to nitpick every bad spot or decal imperfection. Those issues are minor compared to what has been reported here. The arrow decals are aligned correctly. One of the back air nodes is loose. You can turn it around. It might break off in the future. Its looseness could have been caused by shipping or simply not attached correctly during construction. I'm glad I only paid the pre-order price. At the full price is not worth the cosmetic issues. At the full price I would consider every paint or decal error a serious issue. There is one big issue & I might share some of the blame: I requested a Roy Yellow Version - I got a Hikaru Red. In Masei's defense I only said I wanted a Yellow one only once in a series of emails that covered a variety of things. I didn't press the issue of color that I wanted as much I as I pressed the issue that I didn't want the extra decals. I should made sure my last email ask him to confirmed he knows I wanted a Yellow one. I'm not going to pay extra shipping to get the correct color. Even though I am one of the few lucky ones with a helmet better condition than others. I will still be monitoring the situation. Keep us informed everyone on the follow up service you get from Masei.

I bet you were planning to lay naked on that cheetah rug wearing only that helmet. From my understanding after one big motorcycle crash or fall on any helmet you pretty much have to replace it. Who knows how much impact equal to how many motorcycle crashes these helmets suffered in delivery. Zero padding in the box is beyond even a rookie mistake. My helmet is currently out for delivery. I'm more terrified now than excited. Take your bets on the condition: Perfect like ColonKnight's helmet. Factory QC Cosmetic Problems. Several small scratches, chips and cracks during shipping. A box full of broken giant plastic egg shells.

Give them a chance to fix things before beating them up.

Making posts that praises as a "customer " just seems to be something people do outside of primarily English speaking cultures. It is very annoying and I too wish people would just post as representative of Sellers instead of as a "customer." Seems like some sort of cultural thing. I think mine is going to come on Monday. It was back on the road on the 1st so has to come on Monday. Looking at the pictures posted here I'm frankly worried. I'm not going to get worked up over a little spot of missing paint but cracks and broken bits. I will be filming the opening of the box to document any damage.

but that score is from the grand total of only 5 reviewers. I'm one person who hasn't seen it but it still looks like crap.
