Macross Δ (Delta) - Mission 7 - READ 1st POST

I would call an entire episode with the everyone disguised by wearing cat ears on a planet with cat people as one big visual gag.- 240 replies

You know what would be ridiculous? If the Japanese Macross fans cared as much as we did about the smallest details. No toy line would ever make it past the first release.

Really good work.

I know it's like we want M&M! Here you go. The colors are off a shade. I hate you! I want to live with Dad!

The original series also covered some universal tropes that goes beyond its time. Your current Macross is still built on a decades old property. Not counting the spotty animation it still stands the test of time. Could a 30+ year franchise be built on Delta if it was the first Macross? Who knows.- 240 replies

Glaug is being prepped. Don't know this means they actually have the Glaug or just acknowledging my payment.

Paid to Mykombini. Now the wait.

Macross Δ (Delta) - Mission 7 - READ 1st POST
Roy Focker replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
I've been gone for the last couple of days. I want to make something clear. Macross since the beginning has always had comedic with serious moments. You can't claim it was always light-hearted just because 20% of the original series was light in tone. You can't claim Frontier was serious because 20% of that series had a darker tone. Some incarnations of Macross were more serious than others. Although Macross was mostly moderate in tone. It made a name for itself in the 80's & 90's by having the perfect mix of the comedic and the serious. It was a product of space opera mecha fans who represented their own demographic. Its most recent incarnations is a product of marketing and current trends. Macross fans may watch Delta because it has mecha and has Macross in the title but it isn't a space opera in the traditional sense. It is just another anime that represents what's the most marketable right now. This can still be fun to watch. Just don't watch it with the expectations that you'd expect from the golden age of Macross. Enjoy it for what it is. Don't enjoy it just because of its title.- 240 replies

Face it they turned one of the greatest anime franchises into a comedic series featuring cute girlie girls. It can still be fun to watch (like this episode) but the Macross you remember is gone.- 240 replies

There's always a chance that the people in charge knew they were on a doomed mission. The real mission could have always been in the hands of Mikomu and the mission we saw was just a distraction because no one in their right mind would approved the mission team that we saw. or The show is meant to be comedy. I'm somewhat worried about Mikomu's story. The more mystery that surrounds her continues the more our expectation for a great answer will increase. When they do the big reveal it will never be as good as the answers that we've imagined.- 240 replies

I think the worst moment of the entire series so far was the opening scene of the first episode. They started in it with the very real world threat of suicide bombers. Everything since has shown this to be the most absurd, funny, light heart and silliest of the Macross series. If this series takes a dark turn again in the 2nd act it is going feel strange with the rest of the tone.- 240 replies

Game of Thrones Theory Discussion. Books. Show. Spoilers.
Roy Focker replied to Gakken85's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So how much time is suppose to be taking place between the seasons? In real time the show's been on for 6 years. Events during the show seem to be at a slower pace. All the child actors are now all adults. How big is the world? Everything seems like a half a days ride from every where. What was the point of Rob Thomas stabbing that girl in the neck? Last saw her a year ago. Totally forgot about her. The act doesn't add anything to his character that we didn't already know.- 539 replies

SDFM line first all the way. We need a complete set of Destroids and more enemy mecha. Most of the time if the mecha doesn't transform and isn't piloted by a hero it gets ignored by toy companies. Hi-Metal R is giving us collectors what toy companies usually don't make. I want to see them continue to give more love to the second class citizens of Macross mecha.

Neutral vote. It was an actual fun episode to watch. There was plenty of absurd stuff going on but it seem like the creators were aware of that. In the other episodes it feels like they are using the "cutesy factor" to pander to the masses. In this episode it felt more like they were just trying to have fun and were well aware of how ridiculous things were.- 240 replies

It's good that your wife enjoyed watching DYRL with you. Now she won't get too upset with you when a year from now she see how much money you've spent on these toys. I wonder if they might spilt up M&M. Making one regular release and the other as an exclusive. Forcing everyone to track down an exclusive just to have a matching set.

Glaug - May Monster - July VF-1A (Mass Pro) - Sept What will November bring?
-
Got an email from My Mykombini that the Glaug will be release on the 20th. Five days earlier I think then was first announced. Just 7 days away!
-
I got a stand and ordered past the deadline. The toy and stand are packaged separately but package by the manufacture in the same shipping box. Everyone is getting a stand unless a retailer opens the shipping box to sell the two separately.

Someone buying the live action movie rights was the best and worst thing that could happen to Robotech. If the movie is ever made it could bring new life to the property. Even if it sucked and nobody liked it. There's still a good chance it could make enough money for a sequel. On the other hand if the movie is development hell forever then none of that can happen. To make matters worst the deal might limit what HG do can with Robotech on their own.

Got it in my hands finally. This is my first Hi-Metal VF-1. I'm both impressed and frustrated with it at the same time. Even as an exclusive with fast packs I think it was over priced. The cost of the Mass Production VF-1A seems more reasonable to me. I'm impressed that they can have so much detail and create a transformable VF-1 at this scale. I also like seeing all the option parts. At this scale everything feels extra delicate. During transforming I almost thought I broke something but parts just snap out instead of breaking. I needed to use a paper clip to aide me in transforming it. You can get some good poses but you might knock a part off in your attempt. In an hour after opening I've already spent about 10 minutes on the ground looking for dropped parts. Luckily I found them all.
-
Not ordering them again either even if they have the lower price. Only way I'm ordering from them is if it some exclusive and the other stores aren't carrying it. Now I'm waiting 90 minutes to pick up Lil me that the mail man delivered to somewhere else and never bother to tell me where.
-
This is bs. I wasn't home. Someone was. Mail man didn't knock on door. Leave note in mail box or on my door. Dropped it off at the office. Would never know it came unless I checked online. Didn't say where they delivered it. Called the office. They got it but they are closed. Last time I had something sent from Japan they wouldn't drop it off with a signature from an actual householders. Lazy postman.

It was delivered today according to the usps site. I wont get home for another 6 hours.
