Anybody Thinks That Sk Needs To Redesign The Vf-1?
Roy Focker replied to Phalanx's topic in Movies and TV Series
This reminds me of my first online conversion about Macross. I was in a chat room. The question of what VF would you fly came up. I being a classic retro fan said the VF-1. Everyone else the YF-19. Of course Macross Plus was more current in their minds. The VF-1 seemed outdated. They failed to see it's mythlogical power. New and old fan stuff. I'm like DYRL? anyone? -

Robotech: Live Action Movie!?!?!?!?

Just to due the special effects right I think the film minium budget would have to be 100 million. I don't think anyone is going to invest that much in it. Slash that budget about a dozen times. Expect the same budget and quality of those made for cable, video or sci-fi channel stuff. Casting will consist of people you don't know but swear you've seen. There might a few soap opera actors and maybe one former A lister. I doubt that stick to Macross. Will be borrowing designs and themes from invid part of Robotech but there will be a complete new story and new characters. They will been trying to introduce Robotech to a whole new audience. I think the title should even mention Robotech at all. This is because of my preference for Macross but "Robotech" while sounding good for a cartoon doesn't sound mature enough for a movie. Should end up looking like Star Ship Troopers (II) or Wing Commander. -
Robotech: Live Action Movie!?!?!?!?

Excellent I've always wanted to be in a direct to DVD B movie featuring giant robots! I was too young to be in Robo-Jock. Now I have a chance for Robotech! I want to play the bossy Veritech Pilot Instructor who always insults the hero by saying things like, "You think you're good enough to pilot a Robotech? Robotech is about Robotech. Robotech isn't about you. It's about Robotech." Then later once I see the hero grow into a real pilot, "By the Robotech! I was knew he was the Robotech." lol -
You know what would be cool? If we had a Macross 7 Topic that wasn't based on: "Loving or Hating it?" or "Having Just seen it" Or is that the only things people care to talk about refering to Macross 7.

I'm sure Craig will make a nice spy thriller but I doubt will people in general associate Craig = Bond afterwards. See my earlier point. You find him attractive. Nothing wrong thinking another man is handsome that doesn't mean you're going to act on it. Just because he's a very attractive even to men it shouldn't go against him. The literary Bond had little personality. He would have made a boring film character. Just look at Dalton's Bond. Its very close to the literary Bond and is one of the most dull. Connery's take on the character gave everyone the idea of what a movie Bond should be. You're right about Bond being a pop culture barometer. Look at DAD it was influenced by XXX. Now Casino Royal is being influence by Borne and Batman Begins.

Yeah some people don't like Brosnan. One common complaint that I hear is that no hair is out of place and he's a pretty boy. I think those fans are in the closet. They are attracted to him and just say the don't like him as Bond cause he's to purdy. If Brosnan Bond was bad its cause of the scripts, direction and production. He was a charming, classy Bond in cheesy block busters. Right Wade? Right Jimbo!

Hey I don't drive stick! Never learned to nor had a car near me that was. Mike Meyers is scared of guns too and admits it. If you watch Austin Powers you can see he keeps his eyes closed when shooting. That sissy gun firing works for a parody spy but for James Bond...

You scored as Millennium Falcon (Star Wars). Btw I don't recall Mulder and Skully having their own shipship!

Funny I rented it from Blockbuster. Must major chains website allow you to search titles and find out which store has it. Public Libaries are also good places to find forgein films. I just walked in and saw it on the shelf.

Hooray for Bollywood! Indian films believe it or not are quite cool. Aren't Indian films just a bunch of musicals with people singing and dancing all funny like? Well, yes kinda but Bollywood films can be just as entertaining as anything out of Hollywood. The musical is alive in Bollywood but not like the pointless musicals that were popular is Hollywood. Take Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Mission Kashmir a film I recently saw for example. Mission Kashmir (2000) is shoot em up, bombs blowing up action film! Heck Arnold could star in it! The film revolves around two characters, Kahn played by Sanjay Dutt and Altaaf played by Hrithik Roshan. Kahn is the experienced commander of the anti-terrorist police. He's plays the tough guy, action hero but he cares for his men and is loving husband and father. After an accident hurts Kahn's son he finds that he can't get any medical help for him. The local terrorist put fear into the doctors and when Kahn's son gets help it's too late. Kahn dons a black mask and joins his men to get revenge. Bullets fly and terrorist die but so does an innocent family. There is one survivor a young boy Altaaf. Kahn wife pleads for him to bring the young boy home so they can raise him as their own. Kahn worried of what could happen when young Altaaf finds out the truth (Kahn was wearing a mask after all). They take the traumatized Altaaf home and decided to be loving parents for the boy who needs them. When he is older they will tell him the truth. Well, the movie would be boring if he didn't find out earlier. He learns and runs away. Ten years later Altaaf returns as a karate kicking terrorist hunk! Kahn and Altaaf both swear to get the other. Altaaf is consumed with revenge but returning home causes some problems, an old love interest, the adopted mother he still accepts as his mother. Eventually there is an explosive show down between father and son. This movie has it all Martial arts, guns, bombs and good old violence! It is also a film about family and love. Violence and love how can that be? Yeah it's all in this movie. Don't forget the singing! The film is a musical too but they don't sing all the time. Some of the singing will looks out of place. Like how could Altaaf who's been gone for the past ten years working out with weights and building bombs find the time to learn how to sing and dance but somehow he found the time. The musical aspects of the film really just expresses some of the current emotions of the characters. There is a message of the film to stop fighting and start dancing around and sing. If you want to think it a little like Macross 7 in that accept you can but here they are kill eachother between the singing!!!! The movie runs 160 minutes and is rated R for violence but it should be rated PG-13. There some scenes that show kids getting killed. Its bloodless but some chickens gave it an R rated because of it. There is hardly any fowl language and no nudity or sex scenes. Believe me its still a good movie! You will enjoy the action, be moved the the emotion. Bollywood films are big production numbers and will entertain you.

The general rules is no pics in signatures and use common sense on everything else. I don't recall us saying anything on the length but people should use common sense on Font or length. I assume once a bunch people forget to use common sense well need up making some offical stance on the subject.

Like there isn't enough of that.

This seems like a circle. Not pointing fingers but I don't want to see any more PM on something so small and stupid like this. Sure the rest of us in this topic is just talking stupid trash but what ever this little thing is just that something little, stupid and unimportant that being made into something worst than it is.

Hurin, I quoted many people in that post and use saracism for all. Explainations can take time away from other things here. Some situation require an explaination but it isn't need for everything. Some times people are just looking for an explaination. So they can argue about it. "See everyone they're not fair" or "That topic was off topic too but you allowed it." Some people see others against them and have to point finger at abuse of authority. Call it flame bait against the mods if you will. Really were not gonna all stop and give a reason for every close thread or edit to a post when the reason is known by common sense. There is no need other than to help someone ego. Take a poster in this thread for example some new blood here will come with a slight chip on their shoulder. Just takes one mod to mod something and the person may feel there being wrong. If a reason was given the member might be pleased with it. Remember when reasons that are given is gift. No one actually deserves one. A member doesn't like the reason they may think that a mod is out to get them. Why else would someone moderate them? These members either mellow out or become a constaint pain. I think we mod forgot to warn the mini-mod that they know they made it when they get their first public complaint about them. So, all I'm saying is that it's nice that we have some newer blood around here who aren't so burned out on moderating. Because non-burned-out mods tend to do the little things that keep things from getting out of hand. Why do people think we're burnt out? I've been like this before I became a mod here? Why is that mod mean? Maybe their burned-out. No he just is. How many times must I express that I hate everyone of you and feed on your yummy tears? The burned-out mod are the ones who retire. Not because they are sick of people here but things outside are eating their time and they don't feel that they have enough love to hate you all properly.

More reason why I doubt the $79.99 price for Hikaru will be worth it. The man-doll him self: This things typically run 20 to 40 with the doll, dress and weapons. It is an import and Toynami and everyone is taking their cut but this alone does justify $79.99. This can still be covered for $49.99. Of course the under turtle neck would have to be fixed and the doll and clothes would have to be of high enough quality that something won't break as you undress him. My Hikaru won't be fully clothed when he's in bed with Barbie. The Packaging: IMO a cheap paper bag will work but the man-doll won't look important unless he's in a good box. For the collector's window box up the price as high as $59.99 if you want. But they want $20 more dollars? How to jusifity that? How about with some really cheap and lame useless junk? Like Dog Tags! Yeah I remember Dog Tags in Macross that's worth more money! A life-sized uniform patch! Wow I'm buying a man-doll cause I want a patch to wear! Think I know how to sew? Those are two pieces of crap that isn't needed. Your buying the doll and the box not little cheap crap to up the price. You can keep those things and give me the doll at a lower price.
