Had another look and a quick read of the entire book before I tried a little bit of creation. I think the game system is well suited for Mecha. I think the design system is some suited for techno-freaks and math majors. I know the weight and ablilities of Macross Mecha. Selecting the most approriate servo, weapon damage, BV, etc. is simple enough but getting to the part where I'm gonna have to make sure there is enough space and the fact I'm pretty sure weight will greatly exceeded the establish Macross weights. This will result in alot of boring this doing space and weight efficency. I had a A in the Last math class I took in college. Math a daily part of my job. I just don't like it that much. I'm sure playing with the design system creating ones design well keeping true the systems rules is part of the fun but for me not about the designing. I think my conversions will be what fits best towards the animation according to my education opinion. My stats will just be stats and not a work sheet how things were made. Yeah I'll use my calculator on parts I'll be fudging some of the steps. If anyone in the future tries to reverse engineer my stats they will either go crazy trying to figure out the math or will be able to make sense of the math that I hardly did.

Okay I ordered Mekzon Z on a Thursday cheapest shipping. The next day the seller tell he'll ship later that day. Next week Saturday I get the book packaged in box. An 8 day wait. That same day I order Plus from another on Amazon. I pick the faster shipping method. I get the book today. A 7 day weight not only that the seller uses a bubble wrap envelope. So of course my retard mail man shoves it my little hole (gee that sound sexual). Two feet away are large box for the mail man to use for over sized items. I don't get it I select better shipping and it takes just a long and I get cheaper packing material. WTF is up with that. Well It nice it's a big book. I was expecting it soon. Working this weekend starting in a hour so I really wont have a chance to read it until the weekend is over. The 20 second flip through looks good so far.

Please don't tell me I'm reading a slightly defensive tone. I trust I am mistaken. The G in GPS-1 stands for Ground. Does Misa get on Hikaru ass for using the unit in space? If you decided to impose the full -5 MV, space would the place to possibly do it. The Ramington H-22T the Compedium list them as being "hand grenades" as opposed to grenade mini missiles. I wonder if they should be treated like a thrown weapons. Not sure if I can tell by your stats but I'm thinking Powerplants in the Macross universe would be 'Hot'. Also I'm leaning to have the G-Factor be standard for at least brown colored VF-1A and Regults.

Yeah please share. These short stories might not have been animated but they are part of the Macross universe someone here must have read them.

Okay a YF-19 seem more manuverable I'll give you that but what when you includes Destroids? A VF-1 battroid should manuver better than those. Do you keep bumping each slow mecha down/up a MV? Wouldn't have easier to round down? When you typical round off you either round up or down to the closer number. BV-6/1000 Rounds is only 200 rounds away. BV-7 is 1800 more rounds.

Well I'm gonna save the super intense review for after I get Plus and had chance to read a few times but some initinal comments. The Maneuver values are lower than I thought they would be. You have -3 MV for battroid/Basic Humoid Mekton. Is not the MV connected to weight? A -3 is equal to a Mekton 3 times the size. What is causing the VF-1 to "weigh" more? The ROV-20 Actual rate of fire is 6,000 pulses a minute. The Gu-11 rate is 1,200 rounds a minute. For the time takes the Gu-11 to fire one round the ROV-20 has let loose 5 pulse. Of course your limited by the Burst Values of the game but should the BV you have listed be further part than just by 1 BV? Also I know Mekton is inspired a lot by Gundam and in Gundam Beam Weapons are more primarly used over Projectile guns. Thus Beam weapon tend to be powerfull in Mekton. In Macross the Gu-11 is one most used weapons a VF-1. Your stats for the ROV-20 has it having twice the range and twice the damage than the GU-11. The question is if the ROV-20 does more damage and has much better than why do the pilot rely more on the GU-11? One 10 Kill AMM-1 hits the torso/fuselage. Of those 10K it looses 3 against the armor (which than at 2 stopping power). The remaining 7K reduces the Fuselage to 1 kill. Do you think that damage might be too high? Prehaps a 8 Kill missile would be better to at least allow the VF-1 to survive two missile hits. RMS-1 only 12K? Should it do a hell of a lot more damage? The Mekton II tech books has missile damage that goes up to 20K. Since the RMS-1 is a anti-ship weapon should something like say 150K (the damage list for a ship missile MZ page 77)?

I read summaries or translations of "The Plundering Fleet" and "Macross Classic" but what about other short Macross stories and audio dramas like "The lost two years", "Docking Festival" and "Macross Generation", plus etc?

Knight Aces aren't really that knightly. The only thing you have to do to reach that status is avoid all other targets and go just after the important ones. The cowardly pilot who just wants to do the minium that is required for a mission and to avoid all other dangers becomes the Knight. The Soldier shootd whoever is in their path and the Merc looks for houses and tents.

True a hex map or just a table top the visual aids of seeing where you and enemies are is very handy with a mecha game in motion. I'm eager for plus to arrive. I'll found or scan pics already.

Hey I played Friendly Roleplaying for eight years. I had a blast! AIM is good subtitute in the fact that it's instant dice action but you can't really use all use a hex map that way.

I agree that in person is more instant fun. Problem is all most people want to play stuff that is uncool or just different version of the same thing. How many FRPG do people really need? Those that want to do something else or genre specfic have to go online. Then there are those like me who could possibly round up a few people but working a rotating schedule means I'd miss 50% of the games.

Well if Takara decides to sell it back or something like that. I'm sure this wouldn't change HG standing. HG most likely has a contract of some kind that has given them by Tatsunoko that involves some sort of rights. Takara still likely would have to honor that deal and make the conditions of it part of any deal they could make with BW.

I have the cover by Yuji Kaida with the clearly rip off of a GM fighting with a Zaku in front of the bridge of a battle ship. If you have some conversions share them. I'm still waiting for Plus in the mail so I'm stuck making generic character conversions until then. I read a few Macross/Robotech conversion online but I noticed a few things. I don't trust the stats made that seem designed for Robotech and most of the formatting is horrible. A blank white page with numbers all over the place. Instead of posting stats they post the cost of everything. The books uses tables to keep things clean and organized. It is very hard for a novice of the Game to make heads or tails of people posted stats without a book. That was one of the reason why I wasn't interested. Once I bought a dirt cheap copy of Mekton II it all started to make sense. Great a in person game and I'm 10 hours away. I'll have to stick to message boards.
