  1. Season 3 Episode 1 was very lackluster. Started with a previously on recap that neglected to mention how baby Yoda and Mando got back together. If you didn't watch Book of Boba you'd be confused. There's a long scene with a bunch of Mandalorian cosplayers having a picnic at the beach. Hard to take these guys seriously in multi-color armor in daylight. The episode is mostly filler. Real season opener should have been that episode from the Book of Boba Fett. A plot point for the season is Mando's quest of getting his cult to accept him again. One of the highlights of season 2 was that he had to break has code to rescue baby Yoda. He showed growth as a character. Not sure why he needs to go back to his old ways. I think the creators are just obsessed with all things Mandalorian. I'm finding all of it pretty silly. and Baby Yoda is just there to act cute.
  2. I share a similar opinion to this article. The Mandolorian seems just to be another chapter of the Mandalorian saga from the cartoons. https://gizmodo.com/mandalorian-season-3-new-star-wars-ship-disney-1850168556
  3. Would have really like this but yeah no thank you. Remember how Hi-Metal line was the value line because it was a smaller, less detailed, less complex option made by the largest toy company . Guess those days are over.
  4. If episode 1 of season 3 was the first episode of this series I would be happy. It does feel like reunion to go on a grand adventure after years apart. Like a true sequel to the Next Generation movies. Unfortunately, it is following 1 mediocre and 1 bad season. It feels like a course correction. After the first 2 seasons and the movies I keep thinking the last episode of their original TV series was the perfect ending. We didn't need more adventures of the Enterprise D. Especially action-packed adventures. Small spoiler the episode opens with Doctor Crusher in a phaser fight and she's fighting like veteran. Using her wits and skill with a phaser. Wasn't she just the doctor? As a member of Star Fleet, she would know how to use a phaser but not with the same training as more combat leaning character. It has been decades so maybe things have changed. I just look at this opening scene and think, why do they have to make everyone an action hero. They did this with Picard in the movies too. As a kid I may have desired more action while watching STNG. As an adult I really appreciate the problem-solving characters who used their brains and diplomacy to solve problems.
  5. Tetris and Air Jordans. Is this trend in movies how rich people became billionaires? Years ago we had movies about Jobs and Zuckerberg. Billionaires and the soul-less companies are so relatable.
  6. If they wrote Ezra out of the movie and re-filmed all their scenes with Keaton this movie would make 10 billion dollars.
  7. In a couple months it will be on Disney Plus anyways. Good or bad reviews they all eventually get a watch on streaming.
  8. Luther is a mentor that we've never met before. He's like Obi-wan when the only Star Wars was the first movie. Something happened in their past to make them who they are now, but we never saw how they were in the first place. There's no need for a good backstory to convince us of their drastic personality change. The sequels needed a reason to keep Luke away as the hero for all these years. One they went with kept him away and was also against character. In my opinion the reason why Luke couldn't be found and wasn't rushing to save the galaxy was because he was already dead. Steal from the 6th Sense. The birth of Kylo Ren is when Ben Solo killed Luke. Skywalker was a force ghost stuck on that planet this entire time. That would have kept him away without breaking his character.
  9. Andor worked because it was very light on fan service. Plus no forced action scenes because we went 5 minutes without any action and our research shows people get bored. That show used the universe to tell a story. Andor would have been good even without Star Wars. It does help to have Star Wars universe to sell a good show. I want them to find good scripts and then adapt them to Star Wars. Don't need fan service and nonstop action to make good television.
  10. The 3rd season is just a live action cartoon to sell toys. It's a continuation of the Clone Wars cartoon. 2nd season was a backdoor pilot for all the live action spin off for the Clone Wars. The Mandolorian reached its conclusion at the end of the 2nd season. This is just fan service to sell merchandise. Baby Yoda and multiple Mandolorians equals $. Fan boys will get excited by all the cool bad ass Mandolorians kicking ass but I doubt we're going to be wowed by the story telling. What works for a cartoon doesn't mean it will work for live action.
  11. I canceled several of my preorders. Decided there's other stuff I want to buy. These are taking too long. Instead of getting an entire wave of figures I'm just getting the ones I like the most.
  12. I bet you the premise is the same as The Lego Movie. It is just some little rich girl playing with all her Barbies. Rich Mommy and Rich Daddy buy her every Barbie because they think you show love by buying people stuff. Lesson they learn is you can't buy love. You show it by playing Barbie with your child. Don't think it will happen but. I want there to be nude scenes of Ken and Barbie. With smooth featureless crotches like the dolls.
  13. It is very modern. Like it doesn't seem like a fantasy show in tone but a current day show. Its like how young adult movies sets in the future often have characters talking and acting like people would today. Its not bad. Its not great. It does have enough charm to keep me watching. I don't think I'll be rushing to see new episodes as soon their released but I'll catch them within a few days.
  14. The de-aging and stunt man head replacement needs somework. Especially that bad Indy head on a horse shot. It wouldn't surprise me if we find a good portion of the movie if they used computers not only to recreate his face but also his voice for younger Indy parts. Like with Luke's appearance in the Book of Boba. This movie could be a big test by Disney seeing if audiences will accept zombie actors.
  15. Featured alien characters wouldn't work with Andor's tone. Star Wars has problems when it comes to alien characters. Most of them either speak a language nobody understands, or they give them an accent of some racial stereotype. Then then will use them as comic relief.
  16. In Andor these crack assault troopers should have been cleaning house. I've only watched it once. Maybe half of them were taken out early and were spending most of the time protecting the Officers? One the first Death Star Stormtrooper were under orders to let the escape so they could be tracked to the Rebel base. I've got no defense against the Ewoks. By that time Star Wars was a juggernaut beloved by little kids. We just have to have Care Bears winning the day. Now there maybe one good explanation. The Empire's lack the resources. Storm Troopers above all else were created first to be absolutely loyal to the emperor. When the first Death Star was destroyed so were all the Empire's most promising leaders and soldiers. Among them were countless Stormtroopers. Those controlling the Death Star could have easily taken over the Empire. Unless the emperor filled it with enough loyal Stormtroopers to ensure nobody decided to betray him. By ESB you've got idiots like Admiral Ozzel in command and the legion of the emperor's best troops aren't really the best. Those guys died at Yavin. These guys at Endor are just blood thirsty zealots, with basic training and fancy armor. The Empire lost the entire war at Yavin. If every planet decided to rebel it wouldn't be able to stop them. They were just too fearful of wraith of Palpatine to rebel in mass. In Andor I do like how the named good guys die when blasters start firing. In all other Star Wars when someone tries to do something heroic, they succeed. Here when somebody decides to leave cover to run across the battlefield to aide a fallen comrade without covering fire - They die.
  17. That was just an old timer making an incoherent comment. Fans of the latest offerings from a franchise will think it is good simply because they already fans. Production values and all the visuals have improved. There are more incredible action-packed scenes that will leave you speechless. Take all flash away and there's rest is pretty weak. For many fans of the new that big action scene makes up for any flaws. As fan who are emotionally invested, they'll often aggressively defended it. Going back to the originals you've got a really good foundation, but everything looks bad. That was a one of the greatest classic movies all time but, you could see all the wires and some of the jokes wouldn't be allowed today. Old timers say that current version "blank" isn't good because all it is using a recognizable name brand with whatever is currently popular at the time. Franchises like DC, Marvel and Star Wars (Macross too) overall aren't that good. We'll think they are because of a few memorable scenes. A couple of them will actually have good story supporting it. Most don't but they all look great. The movies/shows that rises above the rest of these franchise tends to be the ones that are allowed to depart from the formula and do not follow whatever is currently popular right now. Now I'm going to back to yelling at clouds.
  18. Here's a comment about old and new Macross. Old Macross was made by young guys inspired by anime that they were fanboys of. New Macross is made by corporate suits that sees anime as part of marketing tool for music sales and other products. Same deal with the original Star Wars and every franchise that has a sequel. First one is usually the best one because the creators just want to tell a story that is good fun. Twenty years later its all business. Sometimes there's a gem found among the corporate made sequels but most of it is just a commercial.

    Hi-Metal R

The repaints will get released. Maybe we'll get one of the new sculpts in 2023 or 2024 before the line goes on hiatus.
  20. Early am hours just after dawn but before the beach is open. Public parks near me are usually closed between dusk and dawn. They aren't closed off. You can enter them. Odds that a park services employee is going to find you is rare. If they do you'll just be told to leave. If the Empire in Andor catches you it's prison. The people at the resort know to follow the rules or else. The Imperials know that ruling by fear means there's no need for 24 hour beach surveillance.
