My bad. I saw this used in another forum and you didn't have to be registered to view it. I'll fix this when I get home(at work right now). smoketrail3video.zip

Well maybe not yet! But I am working on it. This is a recent, & successful, test animation in smoke trails for jets/missiles/etc. It's not a 'finished' piece by far. That's for later when I throw in other dynamics. Here's the link. http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/showpos...68&postcount=12

And you must really enjoy the universe and period style combat that it portrays. NOT an easy watch! Not at over 70+ ep's!!

I got it Monday and finally watched it today... TOTAL disappointment! It's like the entire anime hit a big assed deadpoint in both the story, action, and animation quality. Only remotely neat thing was the usage of that new engine(aero-spike?). No extra's at all and the DTS doesn't count as an extra. Macross zero had across the board better animation(including superior 3D). BTW, the DTS disc actually sounded better on my computer then the normal disc did, even when it didn't play in DTS. It's a waste of money if you've spent more then 10 USD on this. Look for the cheap HK bootleg.

PS: he's already used his Bankai.

Yeah Salvatore's skills have dropped QUITE abit, and frankly 99% of 'fantasy' out there apes Tokiens stuff anyways, and George Martin isn't an exception either. I've not read Mieville though.

Anyone Order From Sasuga Books Or Animebooks.com?
chrono replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've bought from Animebooks. They have a 'fair' level of service, but don't expect quick service. I've had orders take well over a full week to get shipped out. The prices are average in that while you'll get a discount it's not alot. But if your looking for older materials you'll have to use another place because they don't have much older stuff. -
You can't under-perform against forecasts & projections. That's like saying that the music industry has lost money when they make billions in profit!

I strongly disliked the Matthew Brodderick Godzilla movie for the same reason. Both Godzilla and 'Kong were supposed to be nightmare creatures of a magnitude you can't begin to understand. In these revisions/remakes, they tone that down so that the monsters are less monstrous and more like freaks of nature. Bleah... 353383 Agreed! As they would ruin a The Thing remake. We are simply gonna have to realize that any remake today is gonna become a mere action oriented movie because of Hollywood's current state even if it is 3 hours long.

Because I'm not a purist and I wish to actually fund more anime being brought into my country by supporting it nativily, but then again well over 75% of the people who dl anime will never buy it in any form. And Drama has been happening where have you been at???

Huh! Must've dropped from the normal 150%.

MAJOR question. Does Eureka get 'cured' in this episode? Because generally the authors tend to pull the whole 'reborn' bit far to much and the way this series unpredictability is they may change the character somehow. So I don't wanna spoil it for later when I pick-up the Dubbed version. ---- ERrrrr nevermind. I just saw a capture from ep21 that helps explain 90% of the episode and one of the images in the shows introduction.

Meanwhile, back on the topic:an action-driven comic might not be such a bad thing. RA Salvatore had a wonderful way of narrarating the action sequences in his books that one sometimes has to wonder if John Woo had all of a sudden walked into Salvatores office and said "this is how it shall be done". Now the question is, is it all new material? Or is it just a rehash of already written events? 353233 Yeah the action sequences were very nice at the time of vague or sweeping fantasy settings(Wheel of Time series/Shannara). It's been slightly re-imagined to reduce the amount of material. Which is pretty much expected given as how over 60% of each book is character building and very internal.

March, Don't even bother. It's a total action driven waste with lacking visually that remind one of MS's copy and paste function art-wise. Call it Drizzt-lite. TOTALLY OT! Forgotten Realms was designed in and about 78-ish, but wasn't collected into an approved setting until the boxed set, but was used in the early versions of D&D(not 1st nor 2nd editions). Greyhawk is one of the shortest lived settings wisely being phased out in the mid 80's and to is day there is a lack of adventure modules(with many of the modules only stating that they happen IN the setting of Greyhawk and having little to do with that world itself) & supplements for it(99% of which are rare to very rare finds that only collectors have a change of finding). It's also no surprise that Greyhawk was selected for the setting in 3.5(i believe it's creator helped to realize 3.0) because it's basically a clean slate to world from. Damned stupid because of the way 3.5 is designed, but hey if it sells..... And isn't Darksun the shortest?

The worst problem with SW: RoTS & DS9, and most current SF TV shows, IMO! In Macross they realized real naval combat concepts(slow and plotting) with fighter action to keep it emotional interesting. A truely AWSOME blend. I'm glad Earth Above and Beyond used that to their benefit. Oh and would somebody please update the list on the intial post!

Just finished watching #20. Kinda flat. But it turns out that we totally get to see where Talho is standing in relationship to the other characters. The Intimate Outsider who sees ALOT of what is going on. Totally freak'd me out when she said that Holland went after Eureka instead of 'that person', the one Talho hates(badly)!!! This completely blows up what I thought Holland way trying to do(get Renton's sister back(that person)) and what his goals were. Now I'm back to guessing and grasping for clues. The action is underwhelming, come-on! Getter Robo/EVA!,(at least they could've used more orginal music) and it would've really helped if Renton used the LFO against Holland's with the priest the one getting pulped. Which brings me to something else. Renton's new realization that EVERY other mecha unit he's fought he's killed that pilot..... violently. Stab in the fact that Renton has a desire for a family and the nasty gut-punch of seeing that the person he just murdered was married(married = family). Renton now understands that he's the same as Eureka. An Innocent Murderer. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...... I LUV IT!

Yeah, but it's fine for the occasional newsstand pick-up.

I'm working on getting ep #20 right now! 17-19 is a great little story arc that really spotlights the building tensions and mystery that still surronds the crew. What gets me isn't how it's Holland VS Renton, but how Holland's using EVERYONE VS Renton's feelings of continous betrayal by a man he respects(worships) and a girl he loves. Has anyone else noticed the increased art quality? It's REALLY getting my hopes up for up coming anime!

How Does Shoji Kawamori Rate As A Mecha Designer?
chrono replied to UN Spacy's topic in Movies and TV Series
Well I'm not terribly well-versed in mecha design or their designers, but I'd have to say that Shoji K. is most definatly within the top 10, proabaly around 5th or 6th place. As long as you keep it within the anime section. But the GOD's(leaders) of the field are definatly Kobayashi, Mamoru and Hideaki Anno!! With about 6 or so stellar designers that are kinda hit & miss. -
I am going to skip work and watch Predator with sunglasses on... It will be even better than King Kong. 350764 Gotta love it when people throe poop at a movie then state that a single man who survives against and kills a super alien makes a better movie. And RAMPAGE was a campy & fun game, damn guys with flamethrowers!

Na... more like Buffy. It needs Nazis. Needs them BAD! 350813 Buffy would imply a good show. 350817 Not in my book it wouldn't.

Totally forgot about an english mag. White Dwarf by: Games Workshop It's slightly cheaper at $6 and doesn't cover much when it comes to airbrushing, but it gives to great advise on brushing techniques. Especially color detailing and color build-up.
