I really wanna jump around in joy, but frankly the last Japanese/English novel I read actually read like 5th-7th grade material. I'll keep an eye out for them because I am a fan of those anime series.

The eyes look good, for a seductress. And the hiar is light on detail when compared to the uniforms detail. Look'en better though!

I totally forgot about this link: http://www.conceptart.org/ D'OH!!! I also personally must suggest H.R. Giger's Biomechanics artbook. Not so much for it's abstracts but for the atmosphere and sub-level of texture he paints at. And Tsutomu Nihei's BLAME! artbook, again for it's atmosphere and it's arcitecter(spl).

Nice thought, but it doesn't work. Mainly because it takes 3 weeks for NONO to get to Pluto(via Charon) by ship. Even if it was an econo-carrier that she rode in I doubt people would want to fly below warp speeds that far out. But now that we know that NONO is a Buster it's safe to say that her 'warp engine' is slightly more sophicated then the ones in Top1. Besides how did she warp directly into the planet anyways! LOL! -

wolfx, Take a look at the "aliens" that come down during the time 15:19-21, 18:05-07, 18:22-25, 20:23-20:25, 22:37-46, & including the GB#7's controlled(25:29, 25:42, 26:15-16, 26:55, 27:10-11, 27:18-20) They ARE completely differ in type when compared to the 'Varible Gravity' -creatures- that it shots(conjection, but come-on they give it away when ever those things are on the screen and the VG has 'cannon' like openings on it) at 22:16-18, 23:17, and 25:53. Trent-Trois bared skeleton(20:11), what a skeleton? When did Buster Machines have organic body's?(21:58-22:01). Also when they remaining 2 are getting ready to be blasted right before they pan past Also the main reason I'm saying that the Red Milkly Way is actually a shell of G-corps is the way NONO gives her title. "Terran Imperial Space Fleet" WTF! The last time I saw Imperial anything with japan attached to it was WW2! "Sixth Generation Interstellar Cruising Decisive Weapon", Interstellar being somewhat of a point(besides the whole warp thingie). Those totally hints at something larger in scope. Of course the name also may come from those military idiots from episode 2 What really smokes my points & theory is 26:44 & 16:35. The first is an 'alien' getting cut in half by a Buster machine and the second is the VGW getting cut-up. Both showing internal organs. D'OH! So it's beginning to look like maybe the humans intentionally made the Buster unit's organic in hopes of getting 'equal' firepower. Hell it makes sense to copy an enemy's designs. What that guy says after NONO leaves gives the impression of disbelieve in what he saw. Then with NONO claiming "by WARP" is a tip-off that they've not had Warp travel or intentionally not used it. That's interesting because didn't human's ability to use warp alert the aliens to their presence in the first one? Soooooo since the orginal GB was 2 units what or 'who' will make-up the Die-Buster? Or will it be a single unit because they've already had 1 combiner in the show already? Maybe they'll pull an Orgun, Izier1, or even a Figure!?! A beatiful amount of Red Herrings to follow, that's fer sure! -

Here's something to think about. If the alien monsters think that humanity is a virus or dangerous cell that it couldn't defeat what if it decided to attempt a slow take over by co-existing and then interchanging genetic materials. Then thousands of years later the 'Topless' comeabout. The G-corps then isolates the Sol system via the Red Milklyway. It also helps to explain why humanity doesn't have warp travel. Or maybe the aliens have only Sol as their last refuse and the G-corps are their to prevent it spreading. *shrugs* This is since we now know that the current 'Buster machines aren't really machines but hybrids, it also goes a long ways towards explaining the 'Busters start-up method. Seven, actually makes an interesting point about NONO and her relationship with the G-corps. TOTALLY possible given how they(several dozen thousand ships) missed actually hitting NONO's ship and could've destroyed her at any given time. And also completely ignored the Buster machines in their attack on the Space Monster! Frankly just watching those ANNOYING twins get wasted in such comedic fashion, yes it was comedic, was well worth downloading it twice! And I totally love that whitehole weapon that space monster uses!!! -

Gotta say that I like the splash page.

There are few 'concept' artbooks around, so your gonna be stuck with regular artbooks more or less. I will recommend the new The Art of Star Wars movie books as they have thousands of unused peices. Syd Mead is an artist to look around for because of his diversity. John Berkey is a painter, but his work has massively influenced thousands. And a simple www.A9.com search on any artist will yield ALOT of images. Well Magic Knight Rayearth has the 1-2 combo of fantasy/sf though it's anime oriented. The same can be said for Slayers and other Japanese books. Korean artbooks are nearly the same but have slightly greater range. These places have a good variety: http://www.animebooks.com/index.html http://www.hlj.com/ http://store.cgsociety.org/

Because Talhoe is a jealous nutcase. I got that from the episode that Holland picked her up from the 'hopspital'. Sex in the hospital(how CLAMP can you get) how lame unless it's a mental hospital. I'm still up in the air over just what those 'zones' are.(pardon the pun) Mainly because them and the alien episode were so close together you can't discount them being alien weaponary, simple translators(Rentons sis popped in there), or purely natural atmospheric phenoms. Too little info to even work with. I had thought that he already had soon after he was released, because he quickly moved to directly under that triads and could easly be considered the 'fourth'. -------------------------- wolfx, 1) Right. Do to what seems to be a sole planetary government I'd say it's a colony. 2) There are aliens we just haven't seen them yet, but I'd say they are crystaline in stylings. Which plays into what I said in (1) about this being a colony. The humans came in terraformed/killed off the aliens and set-up shop there. Abit Trigun-ish. 3.1) Got the impression that the LFO's were, the typical, lost tech plotting. But with the newer eps. you get the feeling that they may be the aliens adapted equipment. 3.2) Don't know, but I really like how they call it "The Summer of Love". Plays with your mind. hehehe 4) I got the impression that the Vodarek cultists were the typical "innocents done wrong" pape, but they're teachings would lead to government instability and nobody wants to have THAT happen. I hope they don't get lame VA's for the english release.... ADV is bad enough with what seems like 50% of their shows sounding like half the cast of SAK/EVA. :/

I always veiwed that little drive thingie of Rentons as a key for the Nirvashs higher functions(it's state of being, etc) that his father helped to make and was keyed to his familys(or Rentons) DNA/physio make-up. Kinda like putting in more RAM if you will or a limiter remover. And from that veiwpoint I've felt that Eureka was slowly tuned out by the Nirvash. Whether it was because of the drive combine with Rentons presence(which it started differing to Renton as it's pilot/master) or whether it's higher functions increased it's 'state of being' to higher the Eureka's(thus her confusion at not being able to understand it anymore). As for the story I always veiwed it as a BONES EVA-clone but with superior music and pacing with the usual 'boy & his robot' minutia. But why does seemingly everyone think that Tahlo & Holland have a 'relationship' and not a casual sex one? Which is MY impression since that earlier scene when they were in the hospital.

I SOOOoooooo agree!!

I was. He's probably to Eureka what Dominic is to Anemone. Their "babysitter" or something. And he does like Talho, just too ego to admit it and Talho's jealous of him being so openly caring for Eureka compared to her. 357305[/snapback] It's kinda hard to figure out Hollands relationship with Eureka. On one hand you want to say that he cares about her, but on the other hand you really get the feeling that he's using her for something. Oh and Hollands using Talho that much is clear and has been clear for awhile. It's just hard to figure out the 'why' of it.

ANY John Wayne movie. God the guy couldn't act. The Birds ugh! it's horrible!!
-
Yeah it has elements of DBZ but what do you expect for Shonen Jump.
-
So does your avatar, but you don't see me posting much complaining about it!!! TB sucks about as much as Trigun, Gungrave, and ALL post GITS material does. If I was picky about what anime I bought then, to be honest, I wouldn't buy any at all because of it's continously poor execution. You guys got your 50-250 dollar toy's & models I have my 5-65 dollar anime/manga addiction.

ORDERED!!! My wallets gonna be groaning this year anime-wise. Between the 5 series I'm currently getting. MONSTER, My Hime, Trinity Blood, and Shuffle! also coming out. NOT counting my throughly UN-healthly manga addiction(20+titles/month and rising) it looks like I'll be working at least a month of OverTime this year. *sigh* I'm such a slave to my hobby's.

Naw just the most lame. At least Fooly Cooly was remotely fun SF.
-
Just to stop, or at least try to, the NGE stuff. I only used it as an example because ALOT subplots/plots seems, feels, to be lingering in the background. Much like NGE. Nothing more nothing less.

Well we haven't even started to find out about the twins, the deal with the Major, Renton's Sisters involvement, Talho's background, why their seems to be only 1 major power on the planet, the situation with Renton/Eureka/Nirvash triangle, the newer secondary characters and existing ones further development, what the hell those aliens are let alone what they want, and the whole point of the TITLE! Remember Monster took awhile to heat up, so we maybe only starting to see the MAIN characters beginning to interact and the main plot starting off. And if that's the case..... "@^&%(&^%( ME!"

Rocking site isn't it! I've know about near since it began and it's nice to know that he's still adding to it. Though he's still missing some of the largest objects(Baxter's Ring) and some of the more unknown ships(Tony Daniel's Cloud Ships).

Ok IF it were the mid 70's then the story would be mind-bendingly great(computers that think by themsleves!), but things in this story are alluding to other background things and if it's ending in 5 episodes then ALOT is being left out! Which really throws off the story pacing and many background issues aren't brought to light that would help bring that 'extra' meaning to the table. Basic character development is a poinent thing that's lacking and lacking bad. So instead of "hero with superweapon saves everyone" it's "Hero from Gundam's Wing Zero". One form of 'schlock' for another form. I'm getting an NGE feel from this anime.... But I agree with Keith on this. The height of the disc was the attitude returned by the Rei & Jack to the carrier and her crew for the alienation they recieved. "We're 'Spacemen'?, huh. Well this is what we 'Spacemen' can do!" Even though it was petty TopGun stuff. MY vexation with this is waiting for over a year for a The Matrix: Reloaded level of anime.

And this is the final test. I tweaked every setting including the animation path(which oddly has control over how well this setup works and something I now know how to circumvent in future animations). I also adding bump-mapping for extra depth(via noise) and found that adding that gives the trail a kinda of shadowing(the can cast shadows but the trail doesn't make them or recieve them) that doesn't make much(if any) hit on rendertimes. Oh forgive the jumps the camera when ape again(something that's impossible to fix). smoketrailFINedited.zip I think my next animation test will be either explosion clouds or impacts, don't know.

That's odd. The video is Divx 5.1 & this is really sounding like a server problem. I had trouble just getting the forum to load these.
