the designs you provide... uhm... i dunno. how ever the art STYLE (and especially the Isamu smartass posse)... wow. im struggling to think where ive seen simular line art before. It's very... well its very very cool. it gives me this thinking that its NOT super deformed but it so wants to be, vibe. do you other genre besides Macross? i'd love to see what you'd do with battlemechs or generic GMs from Mobile Suit Gundam?

Transformers: Age of Extinction - in theaters June 27, 2014
TehPW replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
thats the point for several different genres that likely will never get a live action version. Macross, Robowreck (because of legal action that makes the properties radioactive), Battletech (because of its origins, potential radioactivity, and very narrow fan base)... even hollywood wont do another Gundam (though i think something gundam wqould make them money... say a 3 part live action version of Gundam Wing... twilight with mobile suits anyone?)... *sigh*- 950 replies

Shoji Kawamori "created" Macross: load of bull?
TehPW replied to danth's topic in Movies and TV Series
does it really MATTER who did what? its not like our opinions matter to TPTB (this is more towards western fanboys as opposed to home guard Far Easterners who can voice their opinions more effectively, because they speak the language/understand the Kanji and interface with local forums with ease compared to most westerners, me included. but i try. ). suffice to say, i dont single out specific names in the glorified who's butt is bigger contest, not my concern/interest. what i am interested is what they are planning next, if anything. no new TV show is gonna be worth anything if they dont come up with the supporting merchandice... -
i just has such a huge nerdgasm that i really need to change my shorts. the Ibuki Light CV totally had me at hello..... odd though. i searched and found common macross images but nothing unique. nothing at all when you search for Battletech/Mechwarrior. Is CBT pretty much unknown or uncared for in Japan because the property has zero exposure because there is no anime for it?

Macross Frontier Movie 2 thread - Now available on Blu-ray/DVD
TehPW replied to Tochiro's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
open your eyes, sir. the numberous mentioned battles, small civil wars mentioned in the past, as well as what has occured during the recent video games (assuming some form of cannonity), not to mention Macross Galaxy's interstellar coop attempt shows that its already happening. what makes me wonder about the future of Macross is that, eventually a civil war will occur, amounst the various colonies of humanity (a good example to think in terms of instellar conflict: Battletech's succession wars fluff.) would they go that direction when they think about storylines (let alone toys for those stories) -
The Transformers 3 Thread--A Michael Bay Thread

what shocked me was how they got away with a PG-13 rating. The ... now my GF's 8 & 10-year olds are pretty pro to some movies (and still enjoy a lot of parently restrictions at home) but i was VERY uncomfortable letting them see Tr3... maybe my age, finally? i was pretty cynical about hearing Nimoy voicing Sentinal Prime, presumable as a disposably toon. Oh no was i wrong. -
wow. i should find you and hurt you. im missing brain cells of that 'film' clip... ZOMG that was horrible. what WAS that?

only one complain that spoils the pic as being of a model kit: the wheels. the bottoms need to be filed slightly to give the impression of carrying weight evenly. it's impossible to tell of the VF-1 because of distance, but the wheels being perfectly round on the surface (plus the uneven aligment of the outboard wheel on the port mainmount). just remember that when your making pic dioramas. other than that, me likes (though a little liting from the VF-4, to show that its powered, perhaps a few moments from launch?)

im sorry, Navy SEAL VF-25? really? wtf? please be reminded to THINK about your ideas. SEALs? really? o.O *mumbles* they are -already- epic quality without the over the top ideas...

LOL that Defender version inspired me to make a Rifleman variant on Heavy Metal Pro with 2 RAC/5's, 4 tons of ammo and 2 Rocket/20's, all arm mounted... oh... 2 sets of missle pods per arm? hmmm... well i made a 2nd varient with 4 Rocket/10's and a 5th ton of RAC ammo. still live that idea even though its so plainly cut & paste unoriginal...

I THINK... that when they animate the skits, the producers usually have the rights to use the various toy images. because the legal status of Macross in the US, i doubt they CAN use Robotech images (due to the nature of world wide legalise) can someone more knowledgeable speak up? wiki/RC

they would if they ever wanted to sell merchantdise in the states. Kill HG's hold on Macross's name and you can finally get to see all the product without additional hassle.i think it's why i've never seen much attemps for FASA to mass produce models for battlemechs, beyond the resin kits, and one vague toy series (not talking the TV toy tie-ins, thats a separate rant). merchantdising is the backbone of anime. Bandai made a killing with thier cheap-junk Gundam kits when Gundam Wing aired 4 years after it's release in japan. they had advertisements. the product had support. Robotech, because of the constraints placed on HG, enjoys nothing like that. no merchantdising, not toys avaible at Toy-R-Us, no series on TV. im very certain because of american bungling and legal actions, the various owners of the various portions of macross, could CARE LESS about the idea of merchantdising anything related to macross in the states, because of what HG and the company involved in the FASA Unseen (its name eludes me atm, 20th century products?) did in the 90's. when i was younger, i had wished that someone would make bandai/Hasagawa quality kits of various battlemechs (at least the older, more intelligant designs and artwork. ill will hurt you if you even dare suggest TRO 3060 was good art) but the game is probably dead in its current form. No new video games, no books... no merchantdising, no product.

Question: this email address ikido55@aol.com used to be on my contacts as a actual person. sometime last year, the email account started spamming me. Now i had learned that someone stopped using it, possibly lossing access to it. So i Sweeped it (my email is provided by Hotmail), placing it on my blocked list. now reading the details says it automatically deletes emails after its placed on the block list. now it does work, 99.9% of the time as i never see the same email spamm address twice... except ikido55@aol.com . how is this one email account able to consistantly appear in the junk folder, when others get blocked successfully? -
Variable Fighter Master File VF-1 Valkyrie Vol. 1
TehPW replied to sketchley's topic in Movies and TV Series
interesting... i was hoping to see something that ive seen looking at some Legacy F/A-18 and older P-3 SE manuals when dealing with specific BuNo's of aircraft, where some lot numbers cross over (either because a batch was being built along with another, from different plants) but thats not the case here. its pretty consistant, save a few times where obviously something else was being build in significant numbers besides VF-1 airframes... -
i would have done it anyway, just tell the judge 'Look, your honor. i was doing for school work, experiance, because i like it, etc. and i am not concerned what HG wants, desires, etc. Im not making money of it in sales. i might make some $ if the project lands me a job to do actual copy writed work, new or old but its still nothing more than fanfics. So stop bothering the little guy before i talk to NPR, FOX and maybe CNN, and after letting the world know you're trying to take down the little guy instead of, oh, i dunno.... OFFERING ME A JOB since maybe my work is BETTER than the sh*t your other company associates could do? hmm? no comment? Ok, im outta here. CyA!' %$#@ HG!!
