ok, lets agree on the case FOR producing a remake... first we need at agree to a medium: Anime? Live Action? obviously animated since it will cost less since a big market would be unavailable to really reap the profits from Live Action (anywhere where HG would prohibit it), what other choice is there?
-
why a remake? because as long as YOU, the retard that PAID to watch the PREVIOUS remade movie, will encourage them to make more... that insulting enough or do i need to hit you with a mallet? (I'm sorry, since I also am a retard, by definition, so pass the popcorn, will you?) now with that out of the way, its not like we have much choice in the matter what Hollywood (or anyplace else that makes movies) does? Obviously not every remake is fail (example: JJ-Trek or Fresh-Prince Karate Kid)...

TU! That was far more than i even considered. -
I thought the reason they tamed all the children-killing-children was more in concern with certain religious groups going nuts (as well as the aspect that it really isnt cool to glorify the concept of CvC, from the nation that makes its a sad regularity in the number of Killers-per-Kills in America... If i watched FoxNoise, i'd probably those retards bashing the film FOR ITS CONTENT OF CvC...) i havent seen it yet (and having kids, that means i gotta ask the Gmom if she will watch the brood if i want to watch it with the fiance) but if it's anything like BR, then it'll be ok in my book... as for some of you thinking the hype is too much? yeah, most of those movies were over hyped, but only Harry Pothead actually DESERVED IT. HP is on the level of LotR in terms of when you mention the subject, what we imagined when we read the books will always be superceded by what we saw in those films...

maybe it's the way Japanesse say things but by using generic sounding terms like Unified Goverment is totally fluff. They dont mention anything about specifics. That's my bone: Is that intended to avoid political arguements, overt censorship because of undisclosed rational? that i understand some countries crying because they are not allowed to get involved in the recovery of ASS-1 (admitedly, Jamaca makes fine warships and warplanes XD) but to NOT mention names at all (especially for the protagonists to be mearly labeled the Anti-UN when we know Russia, China, even Isreal was involved in AUN ops in some fashion) makes me think its intentionally vague because of ..... something. Its a japanesse thing beyond that equally vague term, i can't explain my feelings on it. Only that i could gleem far more specific details from any subject in, say, MS Gundam, than this, makes me think that by not mentioning names specific, they are avoiding something.... Sorry, im a mechanic, not a Lit-Major. Just seems very wrong that no countries are mentioned in detail... Derp. Still love your work.*READS* hmmm..... still vague but its far more info now than what i read previously. when they say East, ill assume that to read China starting the violence (which makes sence since to have such a wealth within reach, only to have the United States taking lead (if not Japan) in the recovery of ASS-1. Russia join makes sence since they are our tradtional revial for the past 50 years.... what puzzles me is why the Isrealies would join overtly or Covertly to the AUN cause? (ref: SV-51 development)

im still convinced the victums from Promethues become the Space Jockies... as for the differences in the CGI little guy and dead fossil, here's another thought: what if promo's U-ship that crashes isn't the same ship? it would be too convient if the planet was LV-426 and Mother's SOP from Corporate HQ was to listen for Space Jockie coms specifically from LV-426 as opposed to looking for ANY further space Jockie coms elsewhere in the universe. That assumes of course that Corporate HQ learned anything from the events of Prometheus period. If everyone died (weeeeeeeeeeee) and nobody was left to click 'SEND'.... derp. I still think the dead pool should be Dead-to-Space Jockie Pool... -

great sport for everyone save the poor sods last year in that Reno Crash (pretty sure the pilot was at fault for such reckless mods to his bird)... i like racing but somehow i know NASCar fans like car crashes, but not so much in aviation...

i could do without the choice of Music....derp. at the begining where Adama is looking at his cockpit, that didnt quite as good as it should (the Viper was CGI?) maybe it was the lighting but it doesnt look... right, texture wise... other than that, WTF did they even bother with Caprica when they could have done this?- 696 replies

hate to say it, Sketchy but that draft doesn't tell me much. it's missing three key names: The United States, Russia & China: three competing world powers that would venonously contest control of the ASS-1 site in real life. it's like cream on top the Coffee, but not the coffee taste itself... is not mentioning names, something specific, or an actual restriction by the folks typing up all that stuff...?actually the more i look at it, the more i get the impression that it's meant to look sanitised, like it was -meant- to be an actual document from the period.

he can hate what ever he wants (his right) but as long as he doesnt totally invalidate anything after, then i could care less about his views. LOL.... though for every good fanchise, you gotta have your Star Trek V....also, until Ridley has his Gene Roddenbury moment, there's nothing to prevent any cannonisation of the one or other IP's in question. I mean, he can't. Ridley can claim the origonal, blah, blah... but until someone actually prints a book of church of Ripley, *shrug* anything can or could happen. even Predator: My little Ponies... -

i disagree on ignoring 'what happened' after, rather i think you should think in terms of 'meanwhile, back in Mayberry...'think about it. The corporations that come to exist in the Zenomorph universe basically by the events of the Predator-line of films, their knowledge only glimpsed at because if you assume the times that each film was made, is the basis of the level of survelance available at the time. Little things into big things, as you will. The first clue: a low yield nuke in the jungles of Guatamala. Maybe any information that Arn, err Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer gives out at his Debrief. Certainly it will be classified so that only those with power will know? The events of P2, taken with a grain of salt and thick glasses, provide much more information to the Predators. Add the AvP chain, and you have folks with power, with several items of Predatech: The Firearm, Speartip, the mini-Nuke and nut-shot: Predator DNA from the forearm (i cant remember if Danny Glover damaged the device or decapatated the forearm). Lots of stuff for those with Power to do evil deeds... They would know far less about the zenomorphs, enough to perhaps confuse the relationship between the two foes. (obviously the limits of knowledge are based on what the survivors of each film talks about, gag orders, witness protection, Silencing etc) My querry is when they discover those 7 discs that hint of the Space Jockies. Are the folks in Power thinking of the Space Jockies as Star Trek Perservers (pretty lame as an excuse for all of Trek's humanoid races)? Do they realize how many foes there are, in total. I had to wiki "The Quatermass Conclusion" but that makes perfect sence. Space Jockies with their own army of genetically created Giant-Sized human......er, Zenomorphs of various types based on existing terran breeds. And what you gonna do with that Army? obviously open a can-of-whoop-ass on someone (The Predators? another protagonist? does it matter? maybe Ridley is gonna steal a page from Lucas and create his Clone Army? Maximum Derp!) Those 7 plates were bread crumbs for us to go to the space jockies and say 'Dinner is Served. Why you laughing? Am i Funny or something? Do i amuse yu~ERK.' regardless if he just takes an idea steals another idea from Star Trek and JJ-Verse the next movie, im still gonna have a large erection with this movie -
i thought the rational for Gilliam going clean into the hole in the bio-shield was that he 1) needed to drop mass to have enough acceleration to beat the auto-closure in time. 2) he was going max acceleration regardless of weight (zero-gravity, or very little due to proxity of the Colony module) and needed to drop the packs because he would impact against the closing edges WITH the packs mounted. i think it's the latter because Ozma sorteed into Island-1 with his pack and Gilliam dumped his pack not because it optional but because he would not have successfully followed the Red Varja inside has he not done so....

why y'all crying like its a big lose (to us).... It's Heaven that gains from this 'tragedy' (God now has his muse, for working on that AWESOME SH*T wing of the Big House, that's been gathering dust because... well.... the best man to paint that room/wing has only JUST arrived...) *Salutes* His legacy lives on, within all artists that gain insight from his work. Vernier vs Burner - have the translations been wrong for years?
TehPW replied to sketchley's topic in Movies and TV Series
you're talking about COSPLAYERS right? remember, im retired Navy, i understand schematics pretty well. growing up with Robo...er, Macross, i always look at 'those neeto pictures' with a little more intensity than your typical anime enthusist. I also acknoweldge that the amount of anime magic needed to make those Valkyries fly.... is probably supplied from the same company that markets their other product by a different vendor and ultimate customer: Pixie Dust -

heh, can't be helped that most popular class of Space Aircraft Carrier is also the name of a rather unfornate place on the globe (if your an 'Official Bad Guy')... maybe THAT's why the Uraga-class SCV's is intended to replace Guantanamo-class ... regardless, the intent is that our beloved Vernier, the sole reason VF's can even move in space, is the best example of Overtechnolgy you can come up with. in real life it's a huge amount of plumbing just to move the shuttle in space.... and how many does a VF-19 have on it's nose cone alone? like 3? that's comparing a beer can with the density of 10,000,000 beer cans, the mechanics of a macross vernier to reality... -
i was misquoting Sir Alec Guiness (but i blaim the purple bodice) when i was looking her boobies... and zippering up AND down to 'Bridge on the River Kuai (or however you say 'cute').... oh drat.
