Yeah - My protogarland came with the handlebar nearly broken as well. Did not bother me toooo much tho since I leave it displayed in battroid. It does piss me off that it costs so much more (without discount) and still has qc issues... Actually prefer the military garland which does not seem to have crumbly arms problem.. no not joking...just really ignorant about SOC which I always thought was in relation to Mazinger type robots (all metallic, nice and heavy, usu. non transformable but incredibly expensive).. <alittle surfing later i find myself much more enlightened abt the SOC line...more to them then just Mazingers!!! oops >

yeah that bathing scene/fresh panties-chase got me into a whole lotta difficulty that day...the long suffering gf was convinced i was watching hentai (which was a fair enough mistake to make given that episode had no mecha innit!!!).

Has bandai ever made any transformable SOCs? Thats probably where they will face the most difficulty I think...

my bad! cldn't bring myself to scroll through 10 pgs! Was thinking tho, the VF-27 was directly behind the asteroid (which in all likelihood would not make much of a barrier given its small size...and if i recall correctly most asteroids are spongelike or not dense and maybe mainly ice), it should have taken some damage from that beam blast....

I hear what you are saying and agree its probably alot of hassle... But in the vain hope that my (little) money will somehow hit the coffers of the animation team and enable them to make EVEN better and more mecha-goodness for us in the last few episodes, I'm going to just splurge on the BD and OST...the price of being a macross fan Macross geek-tax that you just gotta pay even if it is inconvenient and silly...

Do any of you techno whizzes know if you can burn bluray discs with bluray equivalents of the sub files? I'm sure it must be possible though I have no knowledge of this ..Just to be clear I mean to burn a copy of the original BD to a blank BD and add a subtitle file tot he blank BD ... Even I know you do not graft a new file onto original BDs! If so, I'll gladly go buy the jap release Mac F blurays and wait for the subs to come out (eventually)....

Reviving this thread simply because I finally watched Macross 2012. Giving a goldstar 4/5...animation is kickass for its time (the last 5 min) and you get to see what happens to Hiakru/Misa/Minmei after DYRL. Does anybody know whether the Megaroad can transform? The bridge looks exactly like SDF-1's and the sillouette does suggest that it has legs as well...ah well, hope Mac Frontier will shed light on what happened to the Megaroad. I do not think it a coincidence that Macross Frontier is probably named after the Megaroad poster in Macross 2012 (with words "Frontier" in bold!)

Still waiting for the sub...but this "carrot" screen grab is depressing! This may be the first time I vote a negative on the polls off-topic - Anybody have any idea how soon the blu rays (coming out eventually) will come out in the US after Japan (with subs probably)? Factoring that into my decision whether to buy a PS3 or not...

Not sure if anybody noticed but I think the Macross in the opening credits is the Macross Quarter transformed. Just compared the "head"/bridge and they look the same!

still liking how MF is developing. Poor Lt. Glass, getting stuck a man with such a terrible haircut (darn maybe if i had my hair cut like that ... argh) quick query - does anybody know which version (AiA or Gattai) has the better graphic quality? Are both HD?

Though I like Ranka, I think it would be a fairly obvious choice for Alto to end up with her....No tension in the plot, nor romantic twist etc. Look at SDFM, Hikaru hated Misa at first and vice versa - which seems to be the case btw Alto and Sheryl now. <and there is the fact that Sheryl is waaay hotter - i like my chicks more mature!>

hrm - I wish they would re-release the 1/1 DYRL space helmet (at a reasonable price)...
