Arch Enemy Char's Gelgoog is OUT!
Vostok 7 replied to Mechamaniac's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Not that I remember... I thought it was redder. From what I remember, the first release was really pink and then the second one was more red. Vostok 7 -
I always will miss those oldskool manuals. Back when they still had full size boxes, there was nothing more disappointing than spending $50 on a game and only getting a jewel case with a CD and a tiny manual stuffed inside the jewel case. Vostok 7

Arch Enemy Char's Gelgoog is OUT!
Vostok 7 replied to Mechamaniac's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Didn't they release a second version (but not Version 2) of the MSIA Char's Zaku because it was that color pink? And yeah, I would have much rather seen an Arch Enemies with the RX-78-02 and MS-06 Zaku Char's Custom from The Origin. Vostok 7 -
You're quite welcome Unfortunately, I've found GBA games plain lackluster. As much as I enjoy oldskool sidescrollers and stuff, something about the games on the GBA just don't appeal to me... Of course, it doesn't help with the GBA's obvious bent towards "family entertainment" but I just haven't found any games for the GBA I could truthfully call "good". But don't let me stop you... You might enjoy them I got burnt out of the GBA RPG scene by FFTA, but I might pick up another one like Fire Emblem or Sword of Mana (mostly that one because I remember the original SNES versions of the Mana games) or Golden Sun just because that was more what I was looking for when I picked up FFTA... FFTA is all turn based battle and no real RPG... I needed adventure and roleplaying, not micromanagement and frustrating battles with stupid rules. Vostok 7

http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=3628 And frankly, as much as I wanted to like it, FFTA really sucks. It was fun for a few hours, then suddenly got really really tough and stupid if you didn't micromanage everything *just right*. I hate micromanaging. King of Fighters EX2 is really good, if short (except you don't like fighting games =P). And so far Sonic Battle is good, but it's kinda overly tough in spots... and has the tendancy towards the micromanaging thing I hated about FFTA. Vostok 7

Arch Enemy Char's Gelgoog is OUT!
Vostok 7 replied to Mechamaniac's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
LOL, and at the rate they're going, we'll only have to wait another two years for them! *weeps bitterly* as long as they make them someday, and Bandai gets off its ass and finally makes a Gouf Flight MG, i'll be okay. If not, i may have to nuke Bandai from orbit.... ...its the only way to be sure. Nuke? Nah. COLONY DROP!!! Vostok 7 -
I was kinda disappointed you couldn't like pick up bodies, with the physics it has, there would be nothing more fun than picking up a body and chucking it off a cliff. Even better, the ability to just KO enemies and chuck them off cliffs. Another thing I didn't like was one time I killed the Osprey that drops the soldiers, and it exploded and fell, then I went inside the building and when I came back out it was gone And next time I should blow up that boat at the bottom so I can get in it Vostok 7

Arch Enemy Char's Gelgoog is OUT!

Bleh, once again I am turned off on a toy because it's painted Char's Gay Pink. Good thing paint is readily available Other than that it looks decent. I'll pick one up just 'cause. Vostok 7 -
I know, that always bothers me about games. I think that's one reason I'm currently liking Morrowind alot... because the bodies stick around. There hasn't been very many FPS games I've seen where the bodies actually stick around for the whole game. I think there are some realistic military games where there's no "disappearing bodies" like CoD and OpFlash. I don't think bodies disappeared in NOLF either. Vostok 7

Second season of GitS: Stand Alone Complex!

I wouldn't want Legos making any kind of woman "ouch! .. ouch!! .." Vostok 7 -
That's one thing that always impressed me about OpFlash too. I loved that game. I'm suprised it wasn't more popular because it had alot of potential... I picked up a game the other day called "Universal Combat" (word to the wise, usually any generically named game sucks) that promised cool combat in a variety of fields, from spaceship commander to lonely grunt shooting at people on a battlefield. And it really sucks. OpFlash is the closest game I've seen that brings that idea of "strategery" to the FPS game... Well, except Battlezone, which I also loved. One thing I really liked about CoD was the sheer immersiveness of it. I haven't picked up the full version yet, but the demo was damn impressive. Frankly, I'm not much impressed by the gameplay of Far Cry. The only thing I can hope is that it's moddable, because there's lots of great things I can see being done to it. Vostok 7
-
I should have know the "hold your breath" button is for the sniper mode. duh. What game is it where you naturally start aiming correctly the longer you wait and the less you move in sniper mode? Was that CoD? Vostok 7
-
Aim mode helps but it's tough to use all the time. I like to run 'n gun I suppose And I still prefer Operation Flashpoint's aim mode... Vostok 7
-
My problem was it seemed to be too "course"... The movement/aiming would be way too slow during normal walking, and then way too fast whenever I was trying to aim at something... I never seemed to miss because of it, but it got frustrating. Setting the sensetivity higher seemed to help a little, but I'm used to fluid aiming on an FPS, and Far Cry has far from fluid aiming. I keep wondering why Microsucks keeps having to meddle in the Mechwarrior/Battletech universe. I swear, MechCommander and MW3 were the last good Battletech/Mechwarrior games. MechCommander II was pretty good I suppose. Vostok 7
-
Yeah, it's an Xbox game. Like I said, it's not bad, but it's like playing a non-strategy version of Mechcommander. Vostok 7
-
I had the same problem... It's choppy still on my system and the aiming is really way too loose for my taste. It'd take me too long to try to aim on anything, which no game should do. And the "rag-doll" physics were not at all impressive to me... Halo still has way better body physics than Far Cry... In fact, I have yet to see a game that has better body physics than Halo. However, I have gotten the bodies to do some weird stuff like sliding off the cliffs and "presenting themselves" (screenshot attached) But damn is it a pretty game... Nothing is more impressive than standing on the top of the mountain, shooting a rocket at the boat below, watching it fly forever, blow up the boat, then walking down and actually seeing the same boat. Anyone played Mechassault? I got it and it's... OK I guess. It goes from being really great (like glowing panels when your 'mech is heated up) to some really stupid stuff... It's like a non-strategy version of Mechcommander where suddenly the Mad Cat has become a 100ton mech. Vostok 7

I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but if anyone wants the demo I'd be more than happy to burn it to a CD and send it out. Vostok 7
