Yeah, because we all want hunchbacked, neckless Urkle-valks with bendy head lasers. Honestly? I'd rather have iffy QC with a relatively perfect sclupt than head lasers that belong on a $0.25 gashapon toy. But that's just me, I'm anal about gashapon diseased PVC parts, especially on a $100+ toy. Vostok 7

Sorry, but it really just sounds like someone put different words into a Gundam mad-libs. And then made up a few big words to sound intelligent (unionistic?). Vostok 7

Wow. I'm impressed. The inner detail isn't quite as much as some of the latest v2.0 releases but the flexibility is amazing, and there's still a lot of detail. I might have to pick this one up Vostok 7

The Macross Quarter. DX Chogokin
Vostok 7 replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Except that would require Bandai doing one thing: Putting time and effort into something that ISN'T the Gundam Cash Cow. Not that I'm complaining, I love Gundam designs and how much love Bandai gives them, but let's face the truth here; Macross is NEVER going to get as much love from Bandai as Gundam does. Why do you think the DX VF-25s suck so much? The models are decent but they have nothing on your average newer MG kit. It's just left to see just how bad the 1/100s will be (I'm hoping for HCMP-level but I know I will be sorely disappointed). Vostok 7 -

Sounds like Toynami isn't going to get too much of its mitts on this, hopefully that's a good thing. I want one of these REALLY bad but I'm holding out reviews to see if there's any major QC issues between the two, the Beagle sounds solid but saving $50+international shipping on the Toynami version is too tempting, despite how much I hate them Vostok 7

I'll still be considering the -25G. Less chance for fail with a single head laser, and so far the photos have looked decent. I was thinking about the -25S but Gashapon'd PVC head lasers are a MAJOR flub on a $100+ DX toy. I consider that a bigger deal than a supposed lack of neck. Vostok 7 -
The compendium states that the VF-0 began development in 2004 which is around the same time as the VF-1 began development. My guess is the VF-1 began mass production of the airframes in Nov. 2007 but weren't in a state to be fully delivered until late 2008. Despite the Nov. 2007 date, canon still states the first operational use of the VF-1 was Feb. 2009 at the beginning of SW1, which was also it's rollout date. It's certainly possible airframes sat around for close to a year before the engines were delivered. Meanwhile, the VF-0 filled the spot the VF-1 would have (and probably would have been used front-line had the Zentraedi attacked before Feb. 2009), the VF-0 being simpler using standard OT equipment for the time (and probably could have been mass produced quickly had the need arisen). See, there's things we know we know, and there's things we don't know we know and then there's things we don't know we don't know. But I think that falls into the category of things we know we don't know, but might know at some time if someone who knows thinks to show us that we don't know. Vostok 7 -

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.3

I'm sorry, but for a $100+ DX toy, I'd expect something better than bendy PVC head lasers. Even the "cheapo" 1/100 has better looking head lasers! Vostok 7 -
According to someone who recently emailed them in the DX thread, BBTS will be carrying the VF-25G and RVF-25. Vostok 7

Yowch, bendy head lasers = deal breaker for me. What is this, an American toy? All long spiky things have to be soft and pliable? Vostok 7 -
That looks very castoffable to me Vostok 7

Yeah, I saw it, and it was good. Vostok 7

Wow, who'da thunk the lowly -1D would ignite a Harmony Gold Debates-level flame war on MacrossWorld. Vostok 7

Saw this the other day in MisaForever's MacrossF stuff and thought of this thread. Don't know who made it. I'm only linking it as it's a touch risque I believe. http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb50/mg...macross5dh8.jpg Vostok 7

What I love about the MiG-25 and -31 is that they just positively DRIP with '60s and '70s Soviet design philosophy. The MiG-29 and later Sukhois are just too "pretty". In the space-race (and in some ways, air-race) times of the '60s and '70s, the Soviet philosophy was make it as simple as possible, strap some huge arse engines on it, and see if it will go fast America was much more about finesse and figuring everything out in the design studio and windtunnels first. Not that there isn't a lot of advanced (for the time) technology behind the MiG-25 and -31 (at the time they set the standards for materials and construction techniques for Mach 2+ interceptors), but there was also a lot of simplistic things (avionics, control systems, etc.) for ease of maintenance. On a similar vein, the F-104 Starfighter is still one of my most favorite American jet fighter designs, mostly because it's basically an intercontinental missile with a pilot Vostok 7

Angolz has it for $77 but they are listing it as "pre-order" so I don't know what that means. http://www.angolz.com/home/productDetails....?PLU=0000106890 Vostok 7- 1056 replies

The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread
Vostok 7 replied to Renato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Whoa whoa whoa, the magnets are the best part of the Garland! I wish Yamato used them more in other designs *cough floppy Valkyries cough*. Pegs can break, and require holes and pegs which can ruin smooth lines (especially since there would have to be holes or pegs on the bottom of the legs). Magnets were a great way to go. The ONLY thing I dislike about my original Garland is how lame it is in Maneuver Craft mode (other than of course the disintegrating shoulders which were nicely taken care of by YamatoUSA). I like that there's a magnet holding the front assembly to the rear but there needs to be a latch too (like apparently they did with the Proto?) so it doesn't have a weak back. Vostok 7- 1056 replies

Oh yes, the MiG-25 and -31 have ALWAYS been my favorites. Huge arse engines. Elegant in their own blocky, ugly way Vostok 7

It wasn't so much intended to be a copy of the Valkyrie, more their "take" on it based on limited information before the actual VF-1 came out. But that was all before Macross Zero came out, and long before we knew anything about the SV-51 (though we still don't know much). The profile views at the bottom are of the later VF-1 in the color scheme of the squadron I came up with for this whole project. The actual MiG will look much more... MiG like... Vostok 7
