Tlead is pretty stupid, but to be fair, there has been period official artwork of Ray's Ride Armor that says "Ley" on it. Vostok 7

I take it you've never heard of a "Real Doll" then. Vostok 7

Actually, a human would survive for quite some time in space. Yes, the temperature is almost absolute zero, but there's nothing to radiate the heat away from the body. And vacuum is survivable, even rapid decompression doesn't cause the "exploding body" effects everyone likes to show in sci-fi. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuum#Effect...ans_and_animals http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_adaptat...otected_effects Vostok 7

Hence the "invasion stripes" on all the good guy mecha http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invasion_stripes Vostok 7

Nope, real LEGOs. There was even a Japan-only deal from the Exo Force mecha line that was a two pack of the mechas and it came with a special sheet of decals and instructions to make some cool transforming mecha designed by Kawamori-san. Pretty cool. Too cool for the US, of course. Vostok 7

Judging by what people say on these forums, Yamato charges an arm, leg and firstborn for their cheapest offerings. Vostok 7

Supposedly, the original plan for the show was for it to be exactly what you describe, just a bunch of dudes with transforming motorcycles kicking Inbit butt across the country. Unfortunately for that plan, the popularity of Macross made the sponsor demand triple-transforming aircraft to bolster the toy line. Hence why the inclusion of the Legioss/Tread seems "incomplete". It's really too bad no one is doing anything with the property besides *cough* Harmony Gold. We need more transforming '80s-looking motorcycle animes. Vostok 7

Previous thread, on it's last legs. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=27475 Ride Armors: The Beagle is here, the Toynami is here, there's really nothing new until the Ray/Rey/Ley comes out from them, or MegaHouse/CMS releases something new. Treads: Toynami's Red is on pre-order, Green shortly after? Leigoss: CMS is releasing the drone! Toynami's Shadow sucked enough to be recalled. Nothing else new. So, off you go boys! Vostok 7

Gonna need a new thread soon, eh? Vostok 7

Macross variable fighter/mecha pose thread

I never realized it, but 1/6 figures would be about in scale for a Zentran/Meltran to the 1/60s... Now I have a reason to buy cast-offs, though the wife might still look at me funny... Vostok 7 -
Exactly. I admit, I was one of those "Bah! It's too expensive!" types too, until I bought one. Now I'm not holding out anymore, I WILL be buying the OD Defender when it comes out! Vostok 7

There's actually quite a bit of die-cast in the legs. Vostok 7

There is a Last Crusade set from the first Indy LEGO line, it's the motorcycle chase. They are working on a fighter chase set which I hope will come with the Bi-Wing and a Bf109-looking fighter (the one in the movie was not a Bf109, but was done up to look like one). The LEGO Flying Wing is masterful though, it's a great set. Slightly lacking in details, but does a great job of representing the sinister flying wing. Vostok 7

Wow, I hope it's something new we don't already know about. I'd be impressed if they managed to keep something totally new secret from all of us, especially since Dark Lord Graham-san hasn't even hinted at anything to speak of... I wonder what "large scale" means though. If it IS an SDF-1, I would suppose that means it's bigger than the WAVE Macross, but hopefully it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Vostok 7

That's pretty dang good. Looked like it had better special effects than some big budget sci-fi films Vostok 7

Overdrive now offering replacement parts for Yamato
Vostok 7 replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Why did you need to get Garland parts through them? Yamato USA gives out parts pretty freely for the Garlands. Vostok 7 -
Something about that chart seems way off. The Eclipse isn't bigger than the Executor? Trade Federation ships are bigger than Imperial IIs? The Borg Cube is that huge? I dunno, just seems off to me. Vostok 7

My understanding was always that the TV CF and DYRL CF were different colors. The TV CF is a lighter tan, like this new VF-1J CF, and the DYRL one was a darker brown color. For instance, the TRU-limited original 1/60 VF-1A CF was termed DYRL, while the larger release version which had a lighter color was called a TV version (even though that was before Yamato was making different heads). Though it may not make sense to Mr. Pete, putting a TV -1A head in with the -1J CF would be smart. Want one of both? Buy two. The argument of the fact it would make more loose parts to keep track of doesn't hold much water considering we're talking about a toy that's already rife with loose bits. Don't like the other head? Leave it in the box and forget it exists. I don't see why this requires an arrogant diatribe. Vostok 7

A 1/200 SDF-1 is definitely NOT reasonable Vostok 7

I'm all for that, but in a little more reasonable scale Vostok 7

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

I'm not talking about the lower fins, those are fine, I'm talking about the upper fins which fold in to the legs in Battroid. I know why they are small, it's just disappointing they are so tiny. Vostok 7 -
I had a 2003 Suzuki SV1000N. Great bike, miss it lots. I sold it last year because I needed the money (had a 5 year loan on it, only $150/mo payments but I still owed quite a bit). Ended up selling it for a decent chunk of change though, so no complaints. I still have a bike, technically it's my dad's but he said I can use it, it's just a more cruiser-y bike than I prefer. It's a 1988 Honda Magna V45, great bike, super smooth but I prefer something a little more sporty. Besides, he's been saying he wants to ride with me again but we only have one bike now We sold all the rest last year when it was a GREAT time to be selling motorcycles. I love the old Suzuki sport bikes. Thinking about saving up a few bucks to get a 1995 GSX-R750 or a 1995-6 GSX-R1100. It's too bad the '80s GSX Katanas that the MOSPEADAs were based on never made a big splash in the US. Vostok 7
-
I think I have to go with a MOSPEADA or Blowsperior, mostly because I sold my motorcycle last year and I'm craving one again, and I'm wishing I had the money for an older late '80s early '90s sport bike. Mmmm 1996 GSX-R1100... Vostok 7

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
Vostok 7 replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Oh I know, the VF-11 is one of the worst for anime magic. That's why I'm saying the biggest thing for me is the tail fins, especially since every main design complaint about the original 1/72 was fixed (exposed shoulder bars, vacuformed pieces of crap that were sorry excuses for heat shields) except for that, and I think that the tail fins were one of the biggest complaints on these forums back then. Yes, the new tail fins are bigger than the ones on the 1/72, but they need to be WAY bigger, not just a few millimeters. Vostok 7
