That's been a common issue hopefully they'll fix it. I believe it's related to lag though. The bug button is still there, it's just small now. Click the "question mark" button and you'll get the same screen come up.

Are you still on the starter ship? You can always purchase impulse drive upgrades but the starter ship is pretty slow. If you want something that's quick and maneuverable, shoot for getting an Escort when you hit Lt. Cmdr. (level 11) and get your free tier 2 ship.

I like how exploration missions are actually exploration now not just "here's a bunch of spots, go scan them".

You have to have a beta key. You will need a box or digital download copy after release though, but you don't necessarily need a Collectors Edition with a beta key to get access to the lifetime. One of the free beta keys will work just fine then you can get the cheapest box or DL copy you can find. Rumor is lifetime will be offered after release but will go up in price a bit, supposedly to $299.99 which means you have to play at least 20 months to "break even". The best thing about this game is that there ISN'T the insanely boring grind gameplay of other MMOs. The missions are a little repetitive, yes, but they manage to stay interesting at least. Leveling is linear and relatively easy, it doesn't seem like other MMOs were the first 10 levels are an absolute breeze and then suddenly the game is practically impossible. If anything, the first 10 levels in this game were harder than it's been since! It levels a lot like a single player game, and scales nicely if you join in to groups. There's still missions that require groups but so far 95% of the missions I've been on I could solo. Some were difficult but soloing them made me feel that much more accomplished for completing them. And thank GOD there's no "go to this distant town and get this, and take it to that distant town. Oh, and you can't fast travel the distance." type stuff.

I'm pretty surprised how "fast" you level once you hit Lt. Cmdr. and get your first upgraded ship. You also seem to make money pretty quickly too, I just bought an Escort to play around with. My plan is to eventually have one of everything, since there's no limit to the ships you can have (I believe you can even have multiples of the same type), I'm gonna go pokemon on that isht!

Well, Conan (first hand experience) sucked and so did Warhammer (from what I've heard). The fee is $15/mo or there's discounts for buying months in advance. There's also a yearly of $119.99/yr or lifetime of $239.99. I went with the lifetime because $239.99 is equal to 16 months of $15/mo and I figure it has to survive at least that long. And besides, I dumped more in to SWG and FFXI than that and they weren't as good IMO.

The scoop says they're not being released until October 2010... So they were ordered via website exclusive in November 2009 and won't be released for (almost) a year?
-
Is the grey "CF" Q-Rea going to be general release or an exclusive only? Basically, do I have a chance of getting one or am I screwed?
-
+100%. However, if your thumb is trying to blister from hitting "fire all phasers" during space combat like mine, you can right click their buttons and they will turn green and then they will fire automatically as long as you initially order them to attack the target (they won't attack a target automatically until ordered to, and then they take over). I do this with my cruiser so I can focus on maneuvering my torpedoes into play. Vostok 7

I have the collectors edition coming and I believe it has three 14 or 30 day pass keys (can't remember which) that come with it. I'd be happy to give you one if you wanted, but you got to wait until release when I get my box copy.

1st, it's an MMO. MMO's don't have things like "cover systems" and almost always feel like "mediocre 3rd person *genre here* game from 10 years ago" and require "continually hitting the fire button for the basic attack". That's just a fact of MMOs. 2nd, it's still Beta. There's a lot of features disabled for the open beta that will be coming at release. Also, MMOs don't always stay the same, it will be improved over time, which is great as long as they don't break the game trying a new idea like Sony did with Star Wars Galaxies. Overall, I've enjoyed the game because it's exactly what I was hoping for. Playing away missions feels like watching an episode of TOS and I love that. The space combat is very good as well. Once you get past the usual "MMO flaws", it's a pretty darn good game IMO. Vostok 7

Sorry, I did search!! I know, there's three ships they're really missing. The Nebula, the Excelsior and the Ambassador. Hopefully they add them in the future.

I'm highly surprised there's no STO thread on here (forgive me if there is, I did a search and didn't find anything). This game rocks! I'm in the open beta and I have to say I'm very pleased. http://www.startrekonline.com/ There's a lot of extremely nerdy fanbois (mostly fans of the flowery "let's make friends with everyone" TNG era) who are saying it's "not real Star Trek" because there's "very little diplomacy" which isn't really true but oh well. The game has a strong TOS/TMP/DS9/VOY feel to it which I enjoy quite a bit. The basics of the plot are that it's 2409, Romulus has been destroyed, the Federation is still picking up the pieces, and the Undine (Species 8472) have been using their shape-shifting powers to create havoc in the Federation, culminating in the dissolution of the peace treaties between the Klingon Empire (now including the Gorn bent on galactic takeover, the Orions and the Nausicaans) and the Federation resulting in a very TMP like state where the two superpowers are "almost at war" and generally very hostile to each other. The Romulans are building their military and trying to reconstruct their Empire so they can join in on the fun, and then you have the Cardassians just waiting for a chance on the other side of the wormhole, and finally the Borg always present to just cause trouble. The Federation and the Klingons are currently playable, with the Romulans definitely being added later and more options being explored. All in all it's pretty good. This is my current ship, the U.S.S. Crozier, NCC-91848, a Constitution II-class Cruiser obviously. I don't have any shots of my Miranda-class Light Cruiser (the starter ship) named the U.S.S. Arkhangelesk unfortunately, but I assume most people know what the Miranda-class looks like. The game has a really cool ship customization system. Vostok 7

Funny, I just opened up my Ozma. The wings don't seem as bent upwards as they did on the Super G and Super RVF. At least to me. Vostok 7 -

Overdrive rocks!! I paid for my order on the 19th and it just showed up today! And as always, excellent communication. Can't wait to play around with my Armored Ozma. Vostok 7 -

Don't care about the color scheme on the TIE/D, I just hope it doesn't suck. And I hope it opens the door to them doing the TIE Avenger. The good TIE Fighter game one, not the crappy squashed egg cockpit from the later games. Then I could die a happy man. Vostok 7

The Woodland GBP would look better on a brownie. It looks killer on the LVII Woodland VF-1A!!! Vostok 7

Yeah, I was starting to think the project was stillborn. I hope they can get more done, Series 2 is supposed to be pretty much repaints of the current ships, Yamato style. That is, if they actually make them. Target is the only place I've actually found them. Vostok 7
