It's obvious shawn needs help/money for the site. Not many sites I know have lasted this long and gotten as big as this has before being forced to ask for donations. On the Subaru site I mentioned, this is one way they've gotten around begging users for donations... for now anyway (they are planning on setting up a donation dealie soon). IIRC, shawn was opposed to popups on his sites and advertisements to make money. That's not what we're talking about here. Vostok 7

There's a few where you can set up a client side server... like TeamSpeak which is what some of my squadron buddies (IL-2 Sturmovik, BlitzPig Squadron) use for their comms. I'm not big into it since I live with my 'rents... but this winter... Vostok 7

It was the best I could do at the time. I was pretty impressed I even pulled it off myself. I didn't have a very good reference pict of the AK-47... Had I had one, the textures would have probably been a little better. Hmmm, $400 for a 3d modelling program I'lk barely use, or some new parts for my car.... Hmmm, very hard decision Vostok 7

Heck yeah, that is one thing that's impressed me for some time now about Halo. And one thing that impresses everyone else? Me sniping them out of a tank I just love hearing cries of... "But I was in a tank!!" Vostok 7

I liked Red Faction II... the mech dealie was AWESOME. But it continued the one sad thing that I didn't like about RF... No vehicles in multiplayer. That said, RFII was a dissapointment since, like you said, it basically was the RF engine with a totally different plot. <_< Did anyone else get major Half-Life flashbacks playing RF? I just kept getting this strange feeling that the plot was ripped off from HL... That, and RF was way too short. Like Blue Shift. Vostok 7

I've only had experience with trueSpace and Rhinocerous. trueSpace isn't a very good modelling program. Easy to use for rendering and such, but I wouldn't use it for modelling itself. I was very very happy with Rhinocerous though. Never had the money to buy myself a copy, but look what I accomplished as a n00b with the trial version and a tutorial about 3 yrs ago (only took me a few hours): Image 1 Image 2 Modeled in Rhino, converted to 3ds, imported into trueSpace 4 where it was textured and rendered. Texturing is a photo of an AK-47 hacked up and meticulously mapped. Not bad for a n00b huh? Vostok 7
