  1. This Is the New Ghostbusters Car, and People Are Freaking Out
  2. Finally got to see this film last week. The concept of an A.I. growing in a harsh urban environment is provocative. Unfortunately, casting Die Antwoord as the two main gangsters ruined the whole thing altogether. Ninja and Yolandi cannot act if their lives depended on it. And there really is no reason to care about them at all - Ninja's just a complete douchebag while Yolandi is the female Jar-Jar Binks. This film would've been more watchable if these two were replaced with more competent actors of the same caliber as Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer (they only had at most 10 minutes of screen time in Pulp Fiction, but they were perfect in the diner scene). Also, Hugh Jackman and Sigourney Weaver seem like wasted opportunities as their roles were almost non-existent amidst the chaos. All flaws aside, the visuals are outstanding, as with every Neill Blomkamp film. Outstanding motion capture and voice work from Sharlto Copley, who is always the best part of every Blomkamp film. The police mecha action is the closest thing to a live-action Appleseed. In short, watch Chappie for the great visuals, but you'll need a bottle of vodka or tequila to endure Die Antwoord. Meanwhile...
  3. Ready to bawl out again? The Iron Giant is returning to select theaters on September 30 and October 4. The Iron Giant: Signature Edition will include two new scenes - one of which is the Iron Giant's dream sequence that was drafted but cut from the original release. The Iron Giant Will (Finally) Return to Theaters in September
  4. Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 54% - "The Minions' brightly colored brand of gibberish-fueled insanity stretches to feature length in their self-titled Despicable Me spinoff, with uneven but often hilarious results." Metacritic Score: 56 out of 100
  5. Outside of Yo-Kai Watch, kids in Japan are heavily into American stuff. As I've mentioned before, Frozen is massively popular, but all the blogs you read online are nothing compared to actually being in Japan and seeing stores flooded with Elsa dolls and Olaf masks. Even SpongeBob Squarepants is a mega-hit, as souvenir shops in the Mount Fuji area have keychains of him. And yeah, Avengers is very popular over there, especially with the kids buying toys of the Marvel Disk Wars anime.
  6. The film made US$6.5 million on its opening weekend in Japan, ousting Cinderella as the biggest Hollywood box office opening in the country. Japan Box Office: Avengers: Age of Ultron Scores Biggest Hollywood Opening of 2015
  7. Last week's RAW score the lowest rating since its near-death to WCW in 1997. Here's their attempt to spike ratings.
  8. Definitely adding this to my RX-78-2 collection. HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam (Revive Ver.)
