  1. Must be as bad as the anime of the same title.

  3. Reminds me of Twiki from Buck Rogers. "Biddie-biddie-biddie-biddie-biddie."
  4. Wow...why didn't anyone use the STFU pic when Robotech Purist instigated a flame war last month?
  5. From the way I see it, Gundam.com was getting some bad rap from the hardcore fans due to various reasons: - The information database probably wasn't updated since day one. Because it's Gundam.com, many people expect to find all the character and mecha info they need on that site. Lesser-known sites like MAHQ and Newtype Asylum have more information and reviews. - Too many newbies on the forums. Majority of them were probably kindergarteners, given the repetitive questions they ask and the poor grammar they display. As a result, more than half of a forum page was filled with locked threads. - Flame wars. There were too many for the mods to control. - SPAM attacks. Several outsiders spammed the boards with posts related to a site called "Outworld." BTW, has anyone seen that site? I had fun posting on Gundam.com while it was still around. I will be looking forward to the site's return.
  6. I love old-school commercials. Excellent find, Shawn.
  7. Good news: The second season of Hanaukyo Maids will premier this April. EDIT: It's not a new season, but a completely new series. http://www.hanaukyo.com/
  8. He wasn't that bad to begin with. After all, he did direct episodes 5-6 of Bubblegum Crisis.
  9. What was your username there?
  10. Right now, I don't know. There have been rumors of Austin going to SmackDown!, as he's not happy with Triple-H running the show. But I can't confirm anything at this time.
  11. That's right. Apparently, WWE wants to set up a title match between Goldberg and Kane on or before Armageddon next month. BTW, for those in the Los Angeles area, be sure to drop by RVD's 5-Star Comics store for these events: Ivory (Nov. 26) Lita (Dec. 9)
  12. And now for the full Survivor Series results: Sunday Night Heat Opener: WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tajiri kicked Jamie Noble in the head for the win. Team Angle vs. Team Lesnar 1. John Cena picked up Big Show and gave him the F U for the win! Winners: John Cena and Chris Benoit WWE Women's Championship Molly Holly def. Lita after slamming her head against an exposed turnbuckle. Ambulance Match Kane put Shane McMahon in an ambulance. WWE SmackDown! Tag Team Championship The Basham Brothers def. Los Guerreros with a roll-up and a handful of tights on Chavo. Stone Cold's Team vs. Eric Bischoff's Team 1. "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner by Booker T via Book-End. 2. Booker T by Mark Henry via power slam. 3. Mark Henry by the Dudley Boyz and Rob Van Dam via 3-D and Five-Star Frog Splash. 4. RVD by Randy Orton via neckbreaker. 5. D-Von by Chris Jericho. 6. Bubba Ray by Christian via Unprettier. 7. Christian by Shawn Michaels via superkick. 8. Jericho by HBK via rollup. 9. It was just a bloody HBK vs. Orton. The referee was knocked out. As HBK was setting Orton up for some Sweet Chin Music, Bischoff ran in and kicked HBK in the ribs. Austin ran in and attacked Bischoff before giving Orton a Stunner. While Austin was busy beating up Bischoff near the entrance, Batista ran in and powerbombed HBK. Orton took the win. Winner: Randy Orton As a result of that match, Austin is out of the WWE. Buried Alive Undertaker was in complete control of the match. Vince McMahon was bloodied up to the point where half of his body was a complete red. He even stained the ring and the announcers' table with his blood. After throwing Vinnie Mac into the grave, Taker went to the tractor next to the grave site to prepare some dirt. But the tractor door exploded on his face. Kane appeared out of nowhere and attacked Taker, throwing him into the grave. Kane then pulled Vinnie Mac out and told him to start the tractor. Vinnie Mac then dumped a truckload of dirt on the grave to take the win. The World Heavyweight Championship Goldberg speared and jackhammered Triple-H for the win.

  14. I'm thinking of ordering the old Bandai Dragonar kits through HLJ. Does anyone here have experience with these kits?
  15. According to the reports, she only goes topless during her transformation scenes. Still, I find it odd that Warner Bros., and not a Japanese film company, is producing this film.
  16. RealOne Japan Trailer List Direct Link to Trailer (High Res - 56K Beware!) I just previewed the trailer, and I'm speechless.
  17. Z.O.E. 2167: Idolo Sunrise/VAP, 2001 ADV Films, 2002 Directed by Tetsuya Watanabe (Z.O.E. Dolores,i, The Big O) Rated 15+ for graphic violence, mature situations and strong language. The year is 2167. Mankind has expanded its population to Mars. The human population on that planet (otherwise known as "Martians"), however, have long been oppressed by the Earth government. Martian ace pilot Radium Lavans has been selected to pilot the planet's top-secret Orbital Frame codenamed "Idolo," which is powered by a mysterious material called "Metatron." Radium slowly adjusts to Idolo's control systems, but the Metatron seemingly causes a psychological effect on him. Story: B- Z.O.E. Idolo is your typical sci-fi story focusing on oppression at the hands of a ruling Earth government. It also tries hard to deliver a solid storyline, but at 55 minutes in length, everything seems rushed, from the character development to the overall plot. Hopefully, the sequel Z.O.E. Dolores,i, shows improvement over this OAV. Animation: B The animation starts out pretty good, but halfway through the OAV, the quality fluctuates dramatically. The battle scenes are well-choreographed, but the artwork needs some improvement. The design of Idolo is rather questionable, especially with the penile-shaped cockpit located on the crotch. Character designs by Madoka Hirayama and Kumi Horii (The Big O). Mechanical designs by Tsutomu Miyazawa (The Big O) and Tsutomu Suzuki (The Big O, Kishin Corps). Soundtrack: B+ Z.O.E. Idolo has a decent orchestral score by Hikaru Nanase (Galaxy Angel, Pita Ten), along with a remarkable ending theme, "Kiss Me Sunlight" by Heart of Air. Sub vs. Dub Z.O.E. Idolo features Takehito Koyasu (Il Palazzo in Excel Saga, Gamlin in Macross 7) as Radium, Houko Kuwashima (Quon in RahXephon, Kirika in NOIR) as Dolores, Chiharu Tezuka as Viola, and Rumi Ochiai as Melissa. I'm not gonna bother with the English dub. Extras: A- This DVD is loaded with production sketches and interviews with director Tetsuya Watanabe, character designers Madoka Hirayama and Kumi Horii, and mechanical designer Tsutomu Miyazawa. The Bottom Line While potentially good, Z.O.E. Idolo needs improvement in character depth and could use some touch-ups in the animation. Still, it's worth checking out. Reference Anime News Network
  18. Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo WTF is this?
  19. Virus Buster Serge J.C. Staff/TV Tokyo/Plum, 1997 Manga Entertainment, 2002-2003 Directed by Masami Obari (Fatal Fury, Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer) Suggested 16+ for graphic violence, nudity, mature situations and strong language. Masami Obari - for over a decade, that name has been etched in a list of cult anime titles such as Bubblegum Crisis, Fatal Fury and Detonator Orgun. But after the success of Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture in 1994, Obari's career as a character designer and director went to a decline. Battle Arena Toshinden (1996) suffered from a lackluster plot and poor production value, while Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer was simply borderline porn. Would his luck change in 1997 with his original work Virus Buster Serge? Story: D- From the rather long and inane introduction, Virus Buster Serge fails to grab anyone's attention and bores just about anyone with its lack of plot and a somewhat non-existent character development. It tries too hard to mix Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer with Bubblegum Crisis, but with disastrous results. You're better off renting something else. Animation: C Obari's character designs looked cool at first on Fatal Fury, but the problem is that his designs became severely repetitive. It seems that every one of his recent works has extremely voluptuous female characters (derivative of Fatal Fury's Mai Shiranui) and ambiguously gay male characters (complete with leather pants and a matching hat - send these guys to the Village People, for crying out loud!). Send this anime back to the drawing board! Soundtrack: B- Nothing to clamor about. Sub vs. Dub Virus Buster Serge features Shinichiro Miki (Laocorn in Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, Cyber-X in Hand Maid May) as Serge, Mayumi Iizuka (Reiko in Gate Keepers, Sora in Escaflowne: The Movie) as Erika, Nobuyuki Hiyama (Joe in Fatal Fury 2 and Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture) as Jouichirou, Haruna Ikezawa (Runa in Gravion, Nana in Melty Lancer) as Mirei, Keiichi Nanba (Junta in DNA²) as Macus, Kazuki Yao (Chivas 1-2-3, Dark Schneider in Bastard!!) as Ryu, and Hirotaka Suzuoki (Tenshinhan in Dragon Ball/DBZ, Lynn Kaifun in Macross) as Raven. The anime was bad enough for me to ignore the English dub. Unless you're a fan of Angora Deb (Agent Aika, Ayane's High Kick) or Jessica Calvello (before she screwed up her voice in Excel Saga), don't bother. DVD Extras: B- Aside from the usual trailers, Manga Entertainment's DVD release includes character bios and design sketches. The Bottom Line Has Masami Obari gone senile? Virus Buster Serge seems to be proof of fact. Reference Anime News Network
  20. Time's up. Next question, J A Dare.
  21. http://www.blowoff.com/ Not exactly Engrish, but what's with the racy brand names?
  22. Thanks. I'll use it until I give my site a complete overhaul next year.
  23. Neither do I. Especially since I don't swing that way.
  24. If I can pull the original review off the old forums.
  25. I'd rather see Detonator Orgun as the mascot, though.
