  1. Well, excuse me, then. What do you want me to do about it? Before the series actually came out, it was classified by some sites as a J-Drama. So they were wrong, and I was wrong to label this series as J-Drama.
  2. WRONG. That title belongs to the Pontiac Aztek.
  3. Did anyone catch RAW last night? What a flying load of crap! Despite an excellent Benoit/Flair match, the whole episode sucked. - Paul Heyman came in along with Vinnie Mac to warn Goldberg about attending No Way Out. He got speared in return. Then, when Austin was celebrating, Goldberg was about to spear Vinnie Mac when he accidentally hit Austin after Vinnie Mac dodged him. - Wow...another Undertaker promo. He'd better come back as the Dead Man. If I hear a motorcycle engine at WrestleMania, I'm gonna powerbomb my TV. - Another example of the KLIQ demonstrating their booking authority: At the Benoit/HHH contract signing, Shawn Michaels came in and gave Benoit some Sweet Chin Music. He then signed the contract. - Orton wins again at RVD and Booker T's expense in a triple-threat. Right after RVD landed the Five-Star Frog Splash on Booker, Orton shoved RVD out of the ring and covered Booker for the pin. - Seriously, is anyone getting into the Y2J/Trish/Christian love triangle?
  4. I'm at episode 4 right now and I have to say that the series gets better halfway. Just recently, I picked up the manga, so by the end of the week, I'll post a play-by-play comparison between the manga and both anime and live-action adaptations.
  5. On a technicality, the Kill Bill question slides, as it's focused on the anime sequence, not the film itself.
  6. No, dude. He should be a Pontiac Aztek.
  7. If you pick up this month's issue of Newtype USA, you'll see just how bad the English dub of Azumanga Daioh is. Luci Christian (Kaname in Full Metal Panic!, Nako in Steel Angel Kurumi 2) does an unconvincing job as the voice of Yukari-sensei. Jessica Boone's (Misaki in Angelic Layer) does an even worse job as Chiyo than expected.
  8. Hey gnollman, what's the answer?
  9. Great to see the people behind the voices of Macross. I know Mari Iijima, Mika Doi and the late Arihiro Hase, but who are the others on the first pic?
  10. Maybe because it's hard to find. I spent three hours today looking for it. Drove to best Buy in Porter Ranch - didn't have it. Went to 20/20 Video in Van Nuys - didn't have it. Went to Circuit City in North Hollywood - didn't have it. Then I finally found it at Best Buy in Burbank.

Pirate 2: "They're not compatible with my system." Lowdown Amazon Women on the Moon is a collection of short skits that circle around a late night viewing of a cheap B-movie aptly titled "Amazon Women on the Moon". The film starts with "Mondo Condo", a skit where Arsenio Hall is just having the worst of luck when he enters his home - from getting his necktie stuck in the garbage disposal machine to getting socked in the face by an ejected videotape. As other segments poke fun at American pop culture, many of them actually pre-date life as we know it today, such as instant background checks ("Two I.D.'s" with Rosanna Arquette and Steve Guttenberg), media piracy ("Video Pirates") and virtual sex ("Video Date" with Andrew "Dice" Clay). The film even makes fun of Universal's horror film legacy with "Son of the Invisible Man", where Ed Begley, Jr. pretends to be invisible, but just walks around butt-naked. As for the "Amazon" segment itself, it directly insults the B-Movie genre with its cheesy acting, piss-poor props (you can see the Earth and the moon dangling on a wire) and intentionally bad film quality (half of it gets burned off the reel). It's obvious that Universal spent majority of the budget on the big-name actors and $0 on production value. But hey - all the laughs are worth it. One of my favorite segments is "Bullshit or Not" (a parody of Ripley's Believe It or Not?), where Jack the Ripper is revealed to be the Loch Ness Monster and the Titanic's maiden voyage is reenacted on a bathtub. Another funny segment is "Blacks With No Soul", a commercial with legendary musician B. B. King encouraging everyone to help black youths who lack the proper characteristics (i.e. black republican voters, a pimp that drives a Volvo, stand-up comedian David Alan Grier singing "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" and the Three Dog Night song "Joy to the World"). If you're looking for some good, cheap laughs, go pick up Amazon Women on the Moon. It's not Monty Python, but it's better than most recent comedy films. Rating: A- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85ODBLO1IhQ "Bullshit or Not?" - Henry Silva DVD Extras: A- The special edition DVD includes some bloopers and scenes deleted from the film. With the exception of "The Unknown Soldier", the deleted scenes are just not that funny. Reference The Internet Movie Database
  12. Ah, sh*t! I know it's not Yohko's TA-29. JELEINEN, you got the answer?
  13. Yeah, they're named after guns, right?
  14. Takara and their weird toys these days...
  15. Wow...looks like I'm not the only one frequenting Wrecked Exotics.
  16. SPOILER ALERT!!! Do not read further unless you're up to episode 18. With Yomiko, Nenene and the Paper Sisters running away from Joker and the British Library, Wendy initiates "Fahrenheit 451" within the Jinbouchou district to lure Yomiko in. During the ruckus, Yomiko gets shot. Right when Wendy is about to order the troops to kill the paper users, a smoke bomb hits the area and Drake comes in to help our heroines escape. They go to Yomiko's parents' house in Saitama to get some rest. Meanwhile, Anita asks Drake about the British Library fire. Because he was in another place, he does not know the full details on what happened. All he knows is that Joker and Wendy are not the same people he used to know. (Especially Wendy. Since when did that clumsy tea girl become a cold-blooded killer?) That night, while everyone's sleeping, Junior phases into the house in another attempt to recover The Book of the Clairvoyant Eyes. His plan is once again foiled by Nancy, who uses her phasing powers to prevent Junior from escaping. Everyone rushes to the scene to find out about Junior, then he points his gun at Nancy. Yomiko then tells Junior not to shoot... "That person...is your mother." A gunshot shatters the tranquility of the forest home.
  17. Take it away, gnollman.
  18. Where's my shotgun?
  19. Time's up. The anime was Demon City Shinjuku and the movie was Johnny Mnemonic. Next question: Which anime OAV chronicles the adventures of the Pet Shop Hunters?
  20. Well, there's no doubt that OST Vol. 2 will be released later this year and will feature the full version of "Yanyan" by Yuuka Nanri, as well as new BGM played on episode 3 and beyond.
  21. Backstage, Stone Cold Steve Austin entered Goldberg's locker room. He offered Goldberg a front row ticket to No Way Out and told him that not only will he represent RAW, he'll represent Austin. Before he left, Austin told Goldberg not to do what he wouldn't do if he were to attend the PPV. Well, there were two non-title matches. The first was another pointless Triple-H promo as he was telling the crowd what a real champion is like. He brought out Spike Dudley and pinned him after a minute. The other was Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels. In the middle of the match, Orton drop-kicked the referee and both men knocked each other out of the ring. Austin appeared on the ramp on his ATV with senior referee Earl Hebner riding shotgun. Hebner took over the officiating while Austin picked up the other ref and left the ring. HBK scored the pin with a rollup after Orton saw Mick Foley appear on the ramp. After the match, Foley and Orton slugged it out, prompting Batista and Flair to follow them through the arena. With HBK left lying in the ring, HHH ran in and attacked him. Chris Benoit ran in and had a staredown with HHH, who eventually left the ring. Also, Rico had a rematch with Rene Dupree. Jackie did not pull her top off this time; instead, Stacy Keibler appeared and pulled up her skirt for Dupree to see. This distracted him and cost him the match again. Afterwards, Stacy and Jackie danced in the ring to Stacy's new song from the WWE Originals CD.
  22. An anime with sword fights was featured in a sci-fi film in 1995. Name the anime and the film.
