  4. Earlier tonight on RAW: - A Battle Royal was held to determine the #1 contender for the World Championship at SummerSlam. As expected, Orton won it. - No more of this RAW Diva Search crap! It was absolutely pointless to involve Kamala in it. - And now for the main event... World Heavyweight Championship - 60-Minute Iron Man Match 1. Benoit pinned HHH. Benoit: 1, HHH: 0 2. HHH Pedigreed Benoit. Benoit: 1, HHH: 1 3. Benoit was counted out. Benoit: 1, HHH: 2 4. HHH landed a spinebuster on Benoit. Benoit: 1, HHH: 3 5. Benoit made HHH tap out to the Sharpshooter. Benoit: 2, HHH: 3 6. Benoit trapped HHH in the Crossface. Benoit: 3, HHH: 3 7. The odds went to HHH when Flair and Batista appeared. HHH knocked out the ref, prompting a 3-on-1 gang-up on Benoit until Eugene ran in from the crowd, gave Flair the Stunner, landed the Rock Bottom on HHH and dropkicked Batista. After knocking out Bischoff, Eugene then clocked HHH with a chairshot and helped a barely conscious ref back in. A bloody Benoit covered HHH for the 1-2-3. Benoit: 4, HHH: 3 Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: Chris Benoit
  5. Well I'll be damned. Steve Yun's on that forum.
  6. Kind of, sort of... SPOILER ALERT!!! Do not read unless you've seen the movie. On Milly's second night in Miyamoto's apartment, Miyamoto catches her fiddling around with his trenchcoat. The next morning, before leaving, Miyamoto sees on the floor a photo of himself lying dead on the streets. Attached to it is a news article on him getting shot by an unknown assailant. At the end of the movie, Miyamoto gives up being an assassin for hire. As he's walking, he confronts the thug he shot on the leg at the beginning of the film. Miyamoto realizes that he no longer has guns; and because of this, he easily gets shot on the chest by the thug, who promptly runs away. Two minutes later, Miyamoto wakes up, wondering why he's still alive. From the inner pocket of his trenchcoat, he finds a steel plate that blocked the bullet. He sees a note on the other side: "I've paid you back. - Milly It's here we find out that while Milly was sleeping in the apartment, a second Milly arrived to prevent Miyamoto's murder after the primary mission.
  7. It's hard to tell from what was displayed, but I'm guessing the prototype has the basic articulation of a 1/144 HG Gundam kit. As for Priss, I'm guessing she's as articulate as a G.I. Joe figure. If the visor opens, I will definitely buy one.
  8. Sounds like you had a CED player. Those things were overpriced and totally cumbersome. I'm glad laserdiscs replaced them.
  9. Okay, that one, too. The Zeorymer prototype is about 6" tall. Not sure if I want that size, though.
  10. How about making an Autobot version of this Mustang? 2005 Ford Mustang GT-R Concept
  11. Yeah, I agree about the Mustang receiving a much-needed makeover, but I'm still a bit skeptical about the suspension changes. Is a live-axle rear suspension supposed to be better than an independent one? From what I know, it'll just give out a harsher ride, not to mention that it breaks easily.
  12. At least for TROOPS, George Lucas went on record saying he was a big fan of the film.
  13. No kidding. Mineral Gray (left) looks perfect on Grimlock. Satin Silver (second left) doesn't look too bad, either. Just hope they don't use Screaming Yellow or Legend Lime. How about if Takara also did the Pace Car scheme?
  14. Mirai Sentai Timeranger (未来戦隊タイムレンジャー) TV Asahi/Toei Co., Ltd., 2000 Previously exploited by Saban Entertainment in 2001 as Power Rangers Time Force Running Time: 25 minutes per episode Not Rated (Suggested TV-Y7). TIMERANGER!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9yFIK7j6NU Synopsis In the year 3000, mankind has evolved into a perfect society and made peace with other races in the galaxy. But when intergalactic criminals Don Dolnero and Gien take control of a prison complex and attempt to travel in time, Captain Ryuya of the Time Protection Bureau selects four recruits to board the ship Yglieg and help him stop the duo. However, at the last second, Dolnero teleports the prison on Yglieg's travel path, sending both units to the year 2000. Upon arriving to the present timeline, the recruits find out that Ryuya is Lila, the female intergalactic terrorist who instigated this mess. She ties up the recruits and blows up Yglieg before reuniting with Dolnero and Gien. Meanwhile, a 20th century man named Tatsuya Asami finds the four heroes at the scene of the wreckage, but when they mistake him for Ryuya, they attack him before realizing that Lila and her forces are wreaking havoc all over town. In a last-minute decision, the recruits give Tatsuya a Chrono Changer, and all five of them become the Future Task Force Timeranger. However, with their time ship destroyed, the Timerangers cannot return to the future unless they capture Dolnero and his gang. Lowdown The sentai franchise has had its ups and downs during the 1990s. While we had great shows in the form of Choujin Sentai Jetman (1991) and Denji Sentai Megaranger (1997), shows like Chouriki Sentai Ohranger (1995) and Kyukyu Sentai GoGoV (1999) left us wanting better sentai material. That's where Timeranger steps in. We've seen sentai shows borrowing elements from American sci-fi throughout the years. Megaranger borrowed from The Last Starfighter and Sliders while Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger borrowed from Men in Black. This series uses elements from Timecop, Demolition Man and The Matrix. In addition, there's much less slapstick comedy and a more serious tone than previous titles. Not to mention that the soundtrack quality has improved a lot, along with excellent opening and ending themes. As with most sentai shows, Timeranger has cool fights, flash transformation scenes and an army of drones for our heroes to wipe the floor with. Timeranger, however, has outstanding special effects and excellent set designs. It's also one of the few shows to use motion blur to enhance the intensity of the fights. The characters are an interesting bunch: you have two guys who talk too much, one guy who wants someone's autograph, a girl who is actually an undercover cop, and a normal guy from the present day. Because of this, Timeranger focuses a lot on Tatsuya trying to comprehend with his comrades from the future and his newly-acquired abilities. In addition, this is one of a few sentai titles where the female is the team leader. Overall, Mirai Sentai Timeranger is not as fun to watch as Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger, but is still one of the better sentai titles to pick up if you're interested in this genre. 15. More news: Yamato USA As expected, Yamato had no Macross toys on display (especially since Toynami's booth was a couple of blocks away). I talked to one of the guys in charge and he agreed that it's a shame that they can't sell their Valks here. He also mentioned about a co-founder who left the company to form his own and obtain the Macross license. And then he said that that company's version of the VF-1 is a complete POS. Yamato had on display prototypes of Ideon, Priss (Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040) and two variants of Zeorymer of the Heavens (Hades Project Zeorymer). I asked the exec when Yamato will release Zeorymer. He said sometime next year. I then told him that if they were to make just one other mecha from that series, it should be Rose C'est la Vie of the Moon. Toynami Bumped into Tom Bateman before checking out Robotech: Invasion. It's not bad at all, but the targeting system needs a little work. Here's another pic I took. This is Tiffany Taylor, November 1998 Playmate of the Month.
  16. Today at the SDCC, I bumped into Gabriel Sabloff, the cinematographer for Grayson. He mentioned that there really won't be a full-blown Grayson movie anytime soon due to budget constraints and possible lawsuits (Sandy Collora of Batman: Dead End fame was slapped with C&D subpoenas from Warner Bros., 20th Century FOX, Stan Winston Studios, etc.). Before going to his own booth, he gave my ReelMarks colleague an autographed DVD copy of Grayson. Unfortunately, we never got to see director John Fiorella (who also plays Grayson), who was supposedly in the Con.
  17. Today at the San Diego Comic Convention, former WWE Superstar Diamond Dallas Page made his appearance to sign autographs and promote his upcoming movie The Devil's Rejects (Rob Zombie's sequel to House of 1000 Corpses). He's actually pretty cool in person, shaking everyone's hands and having lighthearted conversations. After the autograph session ended, the entire ReelMarks staff took photos with DDP. Here's one with me holding his genuine WCW title.
  18. Spotted these at the SDCC earlier today. Glad that Tracks is blue. Still needs the Commemorative Edition decals, though.
  19. I just got back from a 2 1/2 hour drive from San Diego, where I attended my first-ever Comic Convention. Compared to AX2004, it wasn't as impressive, but that's from an anime fan's point of view. I spent most of the day at the Sidewinder Publishing/ReelMarks Studios booth, where we promoted our preview issue of Circle of Darkness. In addition, we had former WWE wrestler Diamond Dallas Page as our special guest. That part will be covered in the WWE and Pro-Wrestling Thread. Now, on to the other booths: ADV Films/Suncoast Same as AX2004. Geneon Entertainment Nothing much here, either. Bandai Entertainment Same booth as AX2004. Nothing much other than Gundam SEED vol. 1 being available in advance. FUNimation Didn't see much from them. Media Blasters Same stuff. Urban Vision Can't say I noticed anything different from AX2004. Viz, LLC Didn't pay attention to it. TOKYOPOP Same old same old. Manga Entertainment Once again, I bumped into Keith Burgess, but at the same time, I met the guy in charge - Marvin Gleicher. He commented that he cannot see a live-action Evangelion happening at all. Also, Manga's was promoting the Sledge Hammer! season 1 DVD set from its new sibling company Anchor Bay. I took less than a dozen pictures, as there wasn't much of anything interesting. I'll post some pics sometime tomorrow. In the meantime, here's a pic of the ADV Babes.
  20. Last night on SmackDown!: - Well, the SmackDown! side finally did something right. Due to his abuse of power, Kurt Angle was fired by Vinnie Mac as GM. However, Angle is still employed in the WWE - this time, as a wrestler once again as he faces Eddie Guerrero at SummerSlam. - It's gonna be JBL vs. Undertaker next month at SummerSlam. If Taker doesn't win the belt, the WWE can go to hell. Also, some good news and bad news concerning Rob Van Dam: Good News: RVD has renewed his WWE contract. Bad News: Due to the number of times he's been late on shows, RVD has been pulled out of SmackDown! and moved into Velocity.
  21. Ball's on your court, bigkid24.
  22. Next question: Souichiro Nagi is the lead character of what martial arts anime?
  23. Musashi hates lizards. Thus, he freaks out whenever mecha-dinosaurs attack.
