Street Fighter: The Animated Movie on DVD?
areaseven replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The U.S. release was initially available in two versions: PG-13 and unrated. The PG-13 version takes out the bloody scenes and has controlled language. The unrated version is missing bits and pieces of Chun-Li's shower scene, despite its claim of being uncut. Original review -
Like everyone else said, Bubblegum Crisis is best experienced subbed. Even though it's not as flashy as 2040, the original series has much better music and more likeable characters. And another thing: wait for AnimEigo's remastered DVDs. The M2K versions are crap.

Okay, I have to admit that was a trick question. In the manga, Mizuho's space suit falls out of the box. Unfortunately, no one knows why the content was blurred out in the anime. In the meantime, gnollman gets to post a question.

Zeorymer of the Heavens (Hades Project Zeorymer) The other four on the lineup are Lanstar of the Wind, Bryst of the Fire, Gallowin of the Water and another variation of Zeorymer. They damn better make Rose C'est la Vie of the Moon as well.
-
Seriously, why did they put Batista on the cover? Being a member of Evolution doesn't mean squat for him.
-
Time for a new question: In Please Teacher!, when Kei and Mizuho accidentally knock over one of Mizuho's boxes as she's moving in, what pops out of the box?

Last night on SmackDown!: - Heidenreich needs to go back to training camp. - Exactly what is this "anger management" angle Big Show will get himself into? - Eddie Guerrero once again lost to Angle. Don't know why WWE's building up Luther Reigns, though. He's just as bad as Batista.
-
Nope. Mahoromatic wins by default because of Miss Shikijo.

Over the past five years, we've had some good robot/mecha anime such as The Big O, Vandread, Mazinkaiser, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, and most recently, Soukyuu no Fafner - Dead Aggressor. On the other hand, we've had some bad ones as well. Here are three prime examples: Choujuushin Gravion / Choujuushin Gravion Zwei ( 超重神グラヴィオン / 超重神グラヴィオンツヴァイ ) GONZO/Fuji TV/Pony Canyon/Media Factory, 2002-2004 ADV Films, 2004 (Gravion Zwei still unlicensed) Masami Obari has gone senile. After Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture (1994), his career as character designer/animator/director went downhill with stinkers like Battle Arena Toshinden, Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer and Virus Buster Serge. The thought of him going back to doing mecha anime sounded like a good idea at first, but once Choujuushin Gravion hit the airwaves... The Good Well, it's done by GONZO, the team behind anime hits like Vandread, Yukikaze and Saikano, so how can it go wrong? The Bad With lackluster animation, Gravion may probably be GONZO's worst title to date (yes, even worse than Blue Submarine No. 6). If there is a storyline, it must've disappeared during production, as Gravion relies mostly on panty shots and Mizuki Tachibana's gargantuan T&A shots. As for the mecha designs, Kunio Okawara (all Gundam titles) makes himself look more senile, as Gravion is just a cheap derivative of his GaoGaiGar design. The Ugly Not only is Gravion guilty of a weak plot, boring mecha designs and an ill attempt to use T&A, it's also guilty of poor Engrish. Add one more point if the English dubbing sucks (which is almost guaranteed, given that it's an ADV title). The Bottom Line Not even Mizuki's floatation devices can save this sinking ship of an anime. Links Download the trailer here Original A7 Review -- Hajakyousei Great Dangaioh ( 破邪巨星G弾劾凰 [ダンガイオー] ) AIC/TV Asahi/Avex, 2001 Viz LLC, 2002-2003 Ah, yes - Dangaioh. One of the first few subtitled anime titles to hit the U.S. shores. The action was good, the animation was great and the mecha designs were spectacular. The downside was that the three-part OAV ended in a cliffhanger. After over a decade of waiting for a continuation, AIC finally came up with a follow-up series titled Great Dangaioh. But wait a minute! Is this the same Dangaioh we all have known for ages? The Good It does have the name Dangaioh... The Bad This is absolutely nothing like Dangaioh. The characters are not likeable and the mecha designs are just plain fugly. Not to mention that G-Dangaioh's final attack is one of the lamest in anime history. The Ugly Don't get me started on the Philippine English dub that VIZ commissioned for this series. The Bottom Line Making Great Dangaioh was a not-so-great idea after all. Links Download the trailer here (QuickTime) Download the trailer here (Windows Media Player) -- Shinkon Gattai Godannar!! ( 神魂合体ゴーダンナー!! ) OLM/AIC/AT-X/The KlockWorx Co., Ltd/TAKI Corporation, 2003-2004 U.S. Distributor Pending If there's one robot anime that could possibly be worse than Gravion, it's this one. The Good Out of everything in this series, Shizuka and her Core Gunner are practically the only character and mecha that are likable. The Bad Instead of having a storyline, Godannar relies on gratuitous T&A to the point of being borderline hentai. (Anna's mother Kiriko has a freakin' 94cm bustline!) Never mind that the animation is decent; this is an example of how NOT to make a robot anime. The Ugly There are actually mecha designs that are worse than those of Okawara. Godannar's design is both unoriginal and uninspiring. Oh yeah, and it's ugly, too. The Bottom Line The combined floatation devices of all the female characters won't save this Titanic disaster. Wow...they copied every nook and cranny of the town. I'm impressed.

I don't know about that. If The Rock didn't get a break in CFL, Lesnar's chances will be no better.

Onegai Twins ( おねがい☆ツインズ ) Please!/GENCO/WOWOW/Bandai Visual, 2003 Bandai Entertainment, 2004-2005 Directed by Yasunori Ide (Please Teacher!). Rated 16-Up for nudity and suggestive sexual situations. High school student Maiku Kamishiro has lived most of his life alone. Then, he gets the shock of his life when Miina Miyafuji moves into his house and tells him she's his long-lost twin sister. Making matters more complicated is the arrival of Karen Onodera, who shares the same eye color as the other two. Despite having different lives, these three teenagers share a similar past that was lost in their childhood, and the only clues they have are the childhood pictures they have and the house they live in. Story: A- There was a lot of speculation on how this sequel to Please Teacher! would go without everybody's favorite teacher (and mine) Mizuho Kazami. Well, it turns out that she is in Onegai Twins, which is a good thing. As for the series itself, it seems darker than its predecessor, but with the same amount of fan service. And the plot development will have you wondering what will happen on the next episode. Animation: A+ While not as flashy as Please Teacher!, Onegai Twins still boasts the same excellence in character design, artwork and animation. Soundtrack: A- The opening and ending themes are as catchy as ever, and the BGM is very lively with less of an '80s feel than Please Teacher!'s soundtrack. Sub vs. Dub Onegai Twins features Daisuke Namikawa (Dokkoida!?, Al in Mobile Suit Gundam 0080) as Maiku, Mai Nakahara (Rena in .hack//DUSK, Anna in Shinkon Gattai Godannar!!) as Miina, Ai Shimizu (Minawa in Mahoromatic: Something More Beautiful, Yuzu in Shrine of the Morning Mist) as Karen, Michiko Neya (Nancy in Read Or Die, Melissa in Full Metal Panic!) as Tsubaki, Ryoko Shintani (Milfeuelle in Galaxy Angel) as Haruko, and Kenichi Suzumura (Shin in Macross Zero, Shinn in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny) as Kousei. Reprising their roles are Kikuko Inoue (Belldandy in Ah! My Goddess, Kasumi in Ranma 1/2) as Mizuho, Souichiro Hoshi (Kazuma in s-CRY-ed, Kira in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED) as Kei, Yukari Tamura (Ranpha in Galaxy Angel) as Ichigo, Hiroaki Miura (Chris in E's Otherwise) as Matagu, and Tomoko Kaneda (Chiyo in Azumanga Daioh, Bonta-kun in Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu) as Marie. Bandai Entertainment's DVD release isn't out yet, but the trailer shows that Bang Zoom! Entertainment has done another good job dubbing Please Twins! Featured voices include Johnny Yong Bosch (Vash the Stampede in Trigun, Kaneda in AKIRA) as Maiku, and Lara Jill Miller (Scherris in s-CRY-ed) as Karen. Reprising their roles are Bridget Hoffman (Mahoromatic, Belldandy in Ah! My Goddess: The Movie) as Mizuho, Sandy Fox (Sumomo in Chobits, Risky in Omishi Magical Theater Risky Safety as Marie, and Dave Wittenberg (Kaoru in Ai Yori Aoshi, Katana in Gad Guard) as Kei. DVD Extras Under Construction. The Bottom Line Damn, why are these aliens always landing in Japan? Links Please! Onegai Teacher (おねがい☆ティーチャー) Please!/GENCO/WOWOW/Bandai Visual, 2002 Bandai Entertainment, 2003-2004 Directed by Yasunori Ide (Bastard!!, Burn Up!) Rated 16-Up for nudity and suggestive sexual situations. Based on the manga by Please! (published by ComicsOne). High school student Kei Kusanagi was lying around a forest one night when he saw an unusual phenomenon - an alien ship landing by the lake with a beautiful human-like alien (read: HOT) coming out of it. That was all he remembered until the next day, when he discovered that the alien he saw is none other than his new homeroom teacher Mizuho Kazami. Story: A This is not your ordinary romance anime. Onegai Teacher feels a bit like Ah! My Goddess, but the whole romance thing takes a lot of different directions when Kei tells about his past and later on tells his foster parents and his principal that he and Mizuho are engaged. Besides, who wouldn't fall for some hot chick who likes Pocky? Animation: A+ Wow...after doing an impressive job with Azumanga Daioh and Figure 17, GENCO went all out in producing some excellent artwork and animation for this series. Character designs by Hiroaki Gohda (Ah! My Goddess, Bubblegum Crisis). Mechanical designs by Yasuhiro Moriki (Martian Successor Nadesico, Crest of the Stars) and Yoshihiro Watanabe (Nazca, D4 Princess). Soundtrack: A- Shinji Orito and "I've" supply an upbeat J-Pop score with '80s and '90s-style influences. The opening theme, "Shooting Star" by Kotoko, is a favorite among many anime fans. Sub vs. Dub Onegai Teacher features Kikuko Inoue as Mizuho (her best performance since Ah! My Goddess), Soichiro Hoshi (Kira in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Kaoru in Ai Yori Aoshi) as Kei, Tomoko Kaneda (Chiyo in Azumanga Daioh, Cynthia in Hanaukyo Maids) as Marie, Yukari Tamura (Ranpha in Galaxy Angel, Ai in Full Metal Panic!) as Ichigo, Sayaka Ohara (Racquel in Scrapped Princess, Ezra in Vandread) as Kaede, Ayako Kawasumi (Ruriko in Gate Keepers, Melfina in Outlaw Star) as Koishi, Mitsuo Iwata (Kaneda in AKIRA, Itsuki in Initial D) as Hyosuke, Tomokazu Sugita (Hideki in Chobits, Subaru in X: The TV Series) as Masaomi, Hiroaki Miura as Matagu, Satomi Korogi (Menchi in Excel Saga, Moe in Love Hina) as Maho, Naoya Uchida (Hayato in Getter Robo Armageddon) as Minoru, Rei Sakuma (Kazumi in Gunbuster, Shampoo in Ranma 1/2) as Konoha, Omi Minami (Hyatt in Excel Saga, Ruri in Nadesico) as Kozue, Yutaka Nakano as Principal Tendo, and Yumi Takada (Ayeka in Tenchi Muyo!, Miss Shikijo in Mahoromatic) as Hatsuho. Bandai's English dub by Bang Zoom! Entertainment is just as good as the Japanese dialogue. Featured voices include Bridget Hoffman (Belldandy in Ah! My Goddess: The Movie, Mima in Perfect Blue) as Mizuho, Dave Wittenberg (Kaoru in Ai Yori Aoshi, Saito in Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex) as Kei, Sandy Fox (Sumomo in Chobits, Risky in Omishi Magical Theater Risky Safety) as Marie, Julie Anne Taylor (Meia in Vandread, Reiko in Gate Keepers) as Ichigo, Melissa Fahn (Edward in Cowboy Bebop, Miyuki in Kaze no Yojimbo) as Kaede, Michelle Ruff (Chii in Chobits, Saga in A Little Snow Fairy Sugar as Koishi, Tony Schnur (Akira in Virtua Fighter) as Matagu, Karen Strassman (Yuzuki in Chobits) as Konoha, Michael McConnohie (Dawson in Golgo 13: The Professional, Schwartzwald in The Big O) as Minoru, and Doug Stone as the principal. DVD Extras Under Construction. The Bottom Line A completely different kind of love story, Onegai Teacher brings out a different meaning to "teacher's pet". Links Please! Next week, THQ will release WWE Day of Reckoning for the Gamecube. Gamespot.com has already hailed it as the best wrestling game (8.2 out of 10) next to the PS2's WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain (9.0 out of 10). BTW, why is Trish on the cover? None of the Divas have done anything over the past year. Nice way of using Y2J on the logo, though. And some more wrestling game news (source: Gamespot.com): Good News: The WrestleMania name will be transferred from the Gamecube to the XBOX starting with WrestleMania 21 next year. Bad News: Neither Yuke's (SmackDown!, Day of Reckoning) nor Anchor (RAW 1-2) will be developing the new WM game. THQ and WWE have left the development to Studio Gigante, the company behind the POS fighter Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus.

YF-19FP SACRIFICE. What could you do without?
areaseven replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
Yamato has the technology to make a perfect transformation YF-19, so unless the new version is smaller than 1/72, it would make no sense for them to sacrifice parts. -
Well, considering that it feels more like Sailor Moon than Cutey Honey (it was done by the same animators of Sailor Moon and it took over Sailor Moon Sailor Stars' timeslot), Cutey Honey Flash may be a turn-off to most fans. However, I've noticed that the show still has a pretty large fan following.

I just finished downloading eps. 1-6 of Soukyuu no Fafner - Dead Aggressor ( 蒼穹のファフナー ) and I'll be watching it momentarily. A review will be ready by the end of the week. In the meantime, for those who are currently watching it, post your thoughts on the series.
-
Just wondering...has anyone here seen Cutey Honey Flash?
-
Non-TF fans will probably get any of these results:
-
You scored 17 out of 17. You are Optimus Prozac
-
Looks like it's just 3 episodes, as articles on the series mention it being a trilogy.
