  1. After being off for a week, I went back to GameStop to find a truckload of Working Designs' Growlanser Generations for the PS2. There's the regular edition, which is $49.99. And then there's the $89.99 Deluxe Edition. Did anyone here pick that one up?
  2. Time's up. Next question: What civilian car does Miyuki drive in You're Under Arrest: No Mercy!?
  3. I've read a bit about this series. Unfortunately, I don't have broadband connection at this time, so it'll take me a while before I check it out.
  4. Time's up. Next question: Name all eleven countries that comprise the Peace-Keeping Navy in Submarine 707R.
  5. Not before they do a Diaclone Powered Convoy paint scheme first. Or how about that piss yellow color like the limited edition G1 Ultra Magnus?
  6. You might also want to check out Submarine 707R.
  7. Wow...I take it you guys prefer two half-assed endings over a decent one.
  8. If you've seen Evangelion, check out RahXephon. As a matter of fact. in terms of overall quality (story, animation, character development), RahXephon succeeds where Evangelion fails. Not to mention that it has one of the best opening themes ever recorded in anime history.
  9. Well, there goes HHH's movie career...
  10. The live-action GTO aired in 1998 and ran for 12 episodes. The final episodes drew the highest TV rating in Japanese history. GTO featured Takashi Sorimachi and his wife Naoko Matsushima (Ringu) playing Onizuka and Fuyutsuki, respectively. A TV special followed, which paved the way for GTO: The Movie. Compared to the anime and manga, the live-action GTO is severely toned down. Though Onizuka still looks up girls' skirts, he's much less perverted. There is no nudity and a lot of the ecchi references are downplayed. "Why isn't there a review of this?" you ask? Well, I haven't been able to watch the series yet.
  11. Well, there are no current updates on this film, but I thought I'd warn some of you about certain Initial D merchandise currently available. Here's one of them. 1/24 Mazda RX-7 FC3S Jada Toys, 2004 Made in China Today, I bought this diecast FC3S from Target for my cousin, who doesn't watch Initial D, but owns a white 1988 FC3S convertible. While he likes it a lot, I don't. Since it's coming from the same company behind DUB City and Import Tuner! diecasts, I expected the Initial D diecasts to be half-assed. I couldn't have been more correct. At first glance, one would think this diecast looks close to the one seen in the anime. But once out of the box, it clearly doesn't justify its $9.99 sticker price. First, there are no door handles, making one think the car is attempting the ricer "shaved" look. Then, there's the engine detail. At this time, I can't rate it because Jada decided to chrome everything under the hood. How ghey is that? Worse is that there's more chrome on the interior, specifically on the shifter, handbrake and pedals. Speaking of interior, this one's really bland, lacking anything on the center console (not even a cheap sticker to represent the sound system). Even bargain-bin companies like Welly and Motor Max do better jobs than this. As for the wheels, what a disgrace. There's absolutely no steering mechanism and the tires are made of hard plastic when they should be rubber. In short, the Initial D diecasts are a total waste of money. Even the most diehard Initial D fan should stay away from them. Detail: D+ Features: F Craftsmanship: D+ Value: D-
  12. I can't wait to get those at Wal-Mart.
  13. Here are the materials I used: - Testors Model Master Custom Lacquer System Royal Blue Pearl 1997 - Testors Model Master Custom Lacquer System Ultra Gloss Clearcoat - Testors Model Master Gunmetal 1795 - Testors Boyd Red 52709 - Revell 1/25 Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition - Tamiya Masking Tape - X-ACTO Knife - A4-size Cutting Board - 1 can Rockstar Energy Drink Here's what I did: 1. Windows, wheels, lights and non-blue parts covered in masking tape. Mirrors folded inwards. Front license plate cover also masked, as the decal sheet of the donor kit does not have a Corvette label for it. Engine masked to prevent overspray. Undercarriage masked to minimize overspray. 2. Car repainted in three coats of Royal Blue. 3. Decals applied on exterior: silver/red stripes, Z06 side labels. Corvette emblem on rear stripes had to be cut as the emblem on the car is part of the mold. 4. Car sprayed with two coats of Clearcoat. 5. Engine bay repainted Gunmetal. 6. Decals applied on engine bay: fuse box, warning labels, battery label. 7. Silver parts of engine/gun repainted Gunmetal. Engine cover repainted with a brighter Red. 8. Corvette label decals applied on engine cover. 9. Missiles repainted Gunmetal.
  14. FYI, it's Shintani, not "Shintaro."
