  1. Why do you think the Koreans are crazy?
  2. As bad as the situation is, at least ADV Manga won't end up like Studio Ironcat, which went belly-up before they even released majority of their manga catalog.
  3. Akage no Anne.
  4. So many childhood memories, so little time (not to mention no money in the bank). I will consider reviewing them soon. And BTW, mark your calendars for May 24, as Universal will release Airwolf Season 1 on DVD.
  5. From Anime News Network:
  6. Is it me or did someone here actually watch Figure 17? Your turn, JELEINEN.
  7. Just wondering, was John Woo, in any way, influenced by this TV series? I noticed that the camera work and dark settings on MV are somewhat similar to The Killer and Hard Boiled.
  8. I wasn't talking about the white Testarossa; I was talking about the black Daytona Spyder. Both show and stunt cars were imitations.
  9. Duh! For a cheap series like TKR, Universal wouldn't be stupid enough to destroy a real Ferrari. Like Crockett's Ferrari Daytona Spyder in Miami Vice, K.R.O. is a kit car built on another car's chassis to look like a Ferrari.
  10. For a minute, I thought you were gonna say that no Arnold = not a good game.
  11. Damn, man. I just went through Disc 2. Episode 9 ("Trust Doesn't Rust") is probably the best episode next to the pilot. And how could I forget that Peter Cullen did the voice of K.A.R.R.? "I am the Knight Automated Roving Robot. K.A.R.R., if you prefer. I am the prototype of the car of the future!"
  12. Well, unfortunately, I no longer have DSL; thus, I no longer have access to fansubs. I can probably get episode 5 on a HK bootleg DVD, but I'll wait until they compile all five episodes in one boxed set (it's much cheaper that way).
  13. The TV series itself is an acquired taste. The first five or so episodes are hard to swallow, but the show tends to grow on you. The Macross 7 movie The Galaxy is Calling Me! is actually very good. Most people recommend watching it before the TV series. In saying this, my review is not against Macross 7 as a whole; it's merely against the POS excuse for a sequel to Macross 7. I suggest you watch those episodes in your hard drive before you erase them. Then you can decide for yourself if you like it or not.
  14. I don't remember much about the series, so I'm not sure if this question has been answered: In episode 1, when Michael is first recovered by Knight Industries, the doctor mentions that if not for the metal plate on his skull, he would've died. Where or when did Michael get his skull plated in the first place?
  15. Speaking of rollovers, has anyone seen the current SUV campaign? ESUVEE "Everyone can ride an Esuvee. Not everyone rides 'em right."
  16. I took a look at Knight Rider 2000. Ugh, what were they thinking? Bad enough that 1) it takes place in a boring, peaceful environment that predates Demolition Man; and 2) they just kill off Devon. Worse is that they drag James Doohan into this mess just for him to recite his famous Scotty lines. As for K.I.T.T., he always has been and always will be a black 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am - NOT a red Firebird made to look "futuristic." BTW, any news on the Knight Rider movie? I can't believe that Sammo Hung is actually directing it.
  17. Knight Rider Universal Pictures, 1982-1986, 2004-2006 Created by Glen A. Larson (Battlestar Galactica, Magnum P.I.) Running Time: 50 minutes (100 minutes for the pilot episode) Rated TV-PG for violence. "Knight Rider - a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist..." Cast David Hasselhoff (Germany still loves him) as Michael Knight William Daniels as K.I.T.T. (voice) Edward Mulhare (1923-1997) as Devon Miles Patricia McPherson as Bonnie Barstow Rebecca Holden as April Curtis Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime in Transformers) as K.A.R.R. (voice)"Michael Knight: a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law." When Las Vegas detective Michael Long is shot and left for dead in a crime scene, he is rescued and given a second chance in life by associates of ailing multi-millionaire Wilton Knight. Shortly after Wilton dies, Michael is given a new identity and a new weapon of justice. As Michael Knight, he is partnered with Knight Industries Two Thousand (best known as K.I.T.T.), a modified Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with a highly-advanced AI. Together, they go above and beyond the law in their neverending battle against crime. When it comes to '80s TV icons, the list is long and distinguished: Mr. T, Alf, Max Headroom, MacGyver, the list goes on and on. And then you have the dynamic duo of Michael Knight and K.I.T.T. For four years, viewers stayed glued to their TV sets to lay witness the adventures of a mysterious detective and his indestructible talking car. As everyone knows, Knight Rider turned soap opera actor David Hasselhoff into one of the biggest household names in the entertainment industry. Sure, maybe he went on to do Baywatch and eventually become idolized by millions of Germans, but if it weren't for this show, he wouldn't be anywhere. And how can you talk about Knight Rider without the car itself? Next to The Dukes of Hazzard's General Lee and The A-Team's GMC Custom Van, K.I.T.T. is among the most famous cars on the small screen. Just ask about anyone who owns an '80s Trans Am and they'll probably tell you they were fans of the show. By today's standards, Knight Rider reeks of cheesy acting and hokey storylines, but hey - it was the '80s. It still makes great family entertainment today. Go rent it and relive another fun part of your childhood. Rating: B DVD Extras: A- The Season 1 boxed set is loaded with extras such as these: - Commentary with Hasselhoff and Larson on the pilot episode. - Knight Moves - Interviews with Hasselhoff and the stunt coordinator that made K.I.T.T. jump every week. - Knight Sounds - Stu Phillips (Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century) talks about how a little synthesizer piece became one of the most uncanny TV themes of all-time. - Knight Rider Under the Hood - Hasselhoff and Larson talk about how the show began. - Stills Gallery - Blueprints Gallery - A look at key settings and props such as the Knight truck and the infamous jailbreak scene from the pilot episode. - K.I.T.T. Owner's Manual - A graphical explanation of the buttons and gadgetry behind the dashboard. In addition, you have Knight Rider 2000, the 1991 TV special that did not live up to the expectations of the series. At least it's better than the flop series Team Knight Rider. 18. Okay, that whole concept doesn't work. Let's just stick with the usual format. Next question: "Jesus Bleibet Meine Freude" by J.S. Bach was used in which two anime titles?
  19. She's blinding, I'm flying Right behind the rear-view mirror now Got the feeling, power steering Pistons popping, ain't no stopping now Panama... Now that I've tested GT4 at a friend's place yesterday, I'm so tempted to risk bankruptcy just to buy a PS2 and the game. It's good to see that GT4 has more cars and much more tracks (including some of the old-school courses from the first two games). And because I played R: Racing Evolution and most of the NASCAR games, I know Suzuka and Infineon from the back of my head.
  20. Oh yeah? What about Christopher Lee? He was in both Star Wars Episode II and The Lord of the Rings. Something like this wouldn't hurt Jimmy Smits' career, anyway.
  21. Can't wait for the C6 Corvette Z06? Order a Lingenfelter.
