  1. He got booked for failing to pay child support to his ex-wife. *Yawn*
  2. Dude, even without the base, people will still mistake that for a diecast. I collect diecast cars and none of them are on their bases. I should get back into car kit building. There's a Revell 1/25 Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition in my room that's unassembled and collecting dust...
  3. That picture fooled us into thinking it was a diecast. I know that most Revell kits suck, but what problems did you face with the kit?
  4. From the pages of TopWrestling.com: - Kenzo Suzuki and Hiroko are no longer on the SmackDown! roster page. Suzuki is in the injury list with a collapsed lung, but that doesn't mean his profile should be taken down. - With WWE leaving SpikeTV, there are now rumors of NWA-TNA taking over the cable channel's Monday night timeslot. Jeff Jarrett met with Viacom executives late last week. - There are rumors of Diva/Playboy Playmate Rochelle Loewen leaving the WWE. Apparently, she has issues with Randy Orton (but then again, who doesn't?). As a matter of fact, Orton was the main reason Amy Weber (another Playmate) left WWE early this year. And look who just wound up in jail again... Booking No. 2005006133
  5. Mark your calendars, folks. The Special Collector's Unrated Edition of Team America: World Police hits stores on May 17.
  6. Yusha Web reports that TV Tokyo will broadcast Yuusha-Oh GaoGaiGar FINAL: Grand Glorious Gathering on April 11. Don't know if it's an entirely new anime or just a broadcast of the OAV series.
  7. There's also Seibertron and TransFandom.
  8. Nah, Stealth's bound to do something worse than that. I'd say NOS, but I don't want to give director Rob Cohen any ideas. To paraphrase yet another line from The Fast and the Furious: Josh Lucas: "I live my life a hundred miles at a time. Nothing else matters. For those ten seconds, I'm free."
  9. Because we don't need such a statement to prove that Stealth already sucks.
  10. On March 31, a new Guyver project will be unleashed at the Tokyo Anime Fair. http://www.guyver.jp/
  11. Don't know about that. I thought he lived in Vegas with some other dude and did magic tricks with white tigers.
  12. Well, what do you expect from the same guy who directed The Fast and the Furious and xXx? Jessica Biel: "Nice plane. What's the retail value of it?" Pilot: "More than you can afford, pal. F-117." Jamie Foxx: "Smoke 'em." -- Josh Lucas: "Ask any pilot, any real pilot. It don't matter if it's by an inch or a mile..."
  13. You call those ship designs? HG should've hired Knight26 instead of whoever designed those.
  14. Aa! Megami-sama ( ああっ女神さまっ ) AIC/TBS/Bandai Visual, 2005 AnimeWorks, 2005-2006 Directed by Hiroaki Gohda (Ah! My Goddess: The Movie, Please Teacher!) Created by Kousuke Fujishima (You're Under Arrest) Running Time: 25 minutes per episode Rated 13 and Older for mature situations and mild language. College sophomore Keiichi Morisato is looking forward to university life. But in reality, he has no luck in anything, and he has trouble with clubs, love, etc. The truth is that he has an unlucky star above his head. One day, Keiichi is stuck watching the dorm while his sempai are away, and has a mountain of chores to boot. But Keiichi is a good-natured person, and is set about doing his duties. As he is about to finish his final chore, he makes a phone call to his sempai, only to connect to the Goddess Help Line. Shortly afterwards, a beautiful goddess named Belldandy appears in front of him from the mirror of his room. Story: A- For over a decade, fans have wished for an anime adaptation of Ah! My Goddess that's more than the 1994 OAV's five episodes. Well, we finally get one. But since the OAV messed up the manga's continuity, this new series starts from scratch. And it's a very long start. Instead of just starting with Belldandy popping out of the mirror (which actually happens later on), the first episode completely focuses on Keiichi - and we learn that he's very different from the character we've known in the OAV and movie. For instance, there's emphasis on his crush on the snobbish Sayoko Mishima and why his bike has a sidecar. And then, the story deals with his share of bad luck - lots of it. And as all this happens, Belldandy prepares for her appearance. For the most part, it's good that the storyline is more stretched-out, which gives us more-than-ample room for character development. This also gives the opportunity to introduce many favorite characters from the manga into anime form for the very first time. Animation: B+ The new series may have CG effects similar to the ones in the 2000 theatrical release. Unfortunately, due to the simplicity of digital art, it doesn't have the gorgeous artwork displayed in the OAV and movie. Nevertheless, it's still impressive. Hidenori Matsubara (Sakura Wars, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040) returns as the series' character designer. Soundtrack: B+ You are greeted by a wonderful opening theme by Yoko Ishida (Ai Yori Aoshi, A Little Snow Fairy Sugar). The BGM by Shiro Hamaguchi (AMG: The Movie, Kiddy Grade) is good, but somehow doesn't stand out compared to the OAV's music. Besides, when will we once again hear songs from the Goddess Family Club? Sub vs. Dub Reprising their roles are Masami Kikuchi (Tenchi Muyo!, Yusaku in Kimagure Orange Road) as Keiichi, Kikuko Inoue (Mizuho in Please Teacher!/Please Twins!, Aina in Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team) as Belldandy, Yumi Touma (Najica Blitz Tactics, Deedlit in Record of Lodoss War) as Urd, Aya Hisakawa (Haruka in RahXephon, Ami/Sailor Mercury in Sailor Moon) as Skuld, Kiyoyuki Yanada (Leon in Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Zabine in Mobile Suit Gundam F91) as Tamiya, Issei Futamata (Godai in Maison Ikkoku, Shinshi in Patlabor) as Otaki, Yuriko Fuchizaki (Anthy in Revolutionary Girl Utena, Li Kohran in Sakura Wars) as Megumi, Ikue Ohtani (Konjiki no Gash Bell!, Pikachu in Pokemon) as Hasegawa, Nobuo Tobita (Kamille in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, as Aoshima, and Rei Sakuma (Kazumi in Gunbuster, Nina in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083) as Peorth. Also featured are Mamiko Noto (Rin in Inu-Yasha, Nodoka in Mahou Sensei Negima!) as Sayoko and Megumi Ogata (Shinji in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Yukito in Cardcaptor Sakura) as young Keiichi. With Media Blasters picking up the domestic license, who knows which studio they'll use for the English dub? Odds are on either NYAV Post (Berserk, Samurai Deeper Kyo) or Bang Zoom! Entertainment (Rurouni Kenshin, Figure 17). I hope they use Bang Zoom!, as they have the same voice actors from the movie. DVD Extras Once the R1 DVD comes out, I'm picking it up. The Bottom Line With the storyline finally closer to the manga, Ah! My Goddess will generate a larger fan following than ever. Links TBS' Official Ah! My Goddess Homepage Reference Anime News Network
  15. Macross Zero Final Episode: "Bird-Human" ( マクロス ゼロ 最終章「鳥の人」 ) Big West/Satelight/Bandai Visual, 2004 U.S. Distributor Seriously Pending. Directed by Shoji Kawamori (Macross/Macross Plus, Sousei no Aquarion). Not Rated (Suggested 16-Up). Contains violence and gore, nudity and mature situations. Following the massive bombing of Mayan Island, the Anti-UN forces capture a component of AFOS, along with Sara and Aries. Aboard the enemy submarine, Sara learns the true motives of Professor Hasford and the U.N. forces. Shin and Focker must once again take to the skies and stop the Anti-UN before the Bird-Human awakens and sings its song of destruction. Story: B+ Two years of keeping us at the edge of our seats have culminated to one of the most anticipated series endings in anime. The questions raised within episodes 1-4 will finally be answered. Will AFOS decide the fate of life on Earth? Who will survive in the ensuing chaos? Will Macross Zero finally be licensed in America? (Okay, maybe not that last question.) Well, the series ending isn't exactly what everyone predicted. It even left many a Macross fan in either confusion or disappointment. Personally, I thought Macross Zero had a very good ending. Never mind that it has nothing to do with the entire Macross continuity (in many ways, it feels like Evangelion and RahXephon). Kawamori wanted the series to end this way, and it actually worked. I won't say anything further - if you want spoilers, go the Series forum. Otherwise watch the episode and decide for yourself. Animation: A++ Since it's the grand finale, Macross Zero has to end with a bang. The fatal four-way between Shin, Focker, Nora and D.D. brings out the best animated dogfight scenes since Macross Plus. And there's nothing like a Destroid Monster preparing to fire a volley of nukes. Soundtrack: A After hearing the same BGM throughout the first four episodes, we're treated to newer music by Kuniaki Haishima (Requiem From the Darkness, Blue Gender), including some powerful vocals played when AFOS awakens. The Bottom Line Love it or hate it, Macross Zero actually ends in a good note. Now let's see if Harmony Gold can top this with their Robotech sequel. 17. I won't buy a PSP until the following happen: 1. All the bugs on the first release are fixed. 2. The price drops to around $150. 3. Anime companies start releasing titles on UMD.
  18. My all-time favorites: Queen Animetal Def Leppard Bon Jovi Guns 'N' Roses (only until Use Your Illusion I-II) Poison Metallica (before Load made them suck) Damn Yankees KISS Rammstein
  19. It's all about the game, and how you play it It's all about control, and if you can take it It's all about debt, and if you can pay it It's all about pain, and who's gonna make it. I am the game, you don't want to play me I am control, no way you can shake me I am your debt, no way you can pay me I am your pain, and I know you can take me. Play the game, you'll never be the same, you're gonna change your name, you're gonna die in flames...
  20. The latest WrestleMania commercial features various Superstars imitating Robert De Niro and using his famous line from Taxi Driver: Heidenreich: "Are you talkin' to me! Are you talkin' to Heidenreich! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!" Director: "Cut!" -- Director: "You talkin' to me?" Batista: "Yeah, I'm talking to you. What's the line?" Director: "You talkin' to me?" Batista: "Forget it." Throughout the duration of the commercial, Batista doesn't realize that's the line he's supposed to say. -- Tajiri: "Ore da no?" -- The Basham Brothers: "Are you tallkin' to us?" -- Snitsky: "You talkin' to me - " (Kitchen prop in background falls off wall.) Snitsky: "That wasn't my fault!" -- When the Big Show tries his part, the camera only gets his chest, he rips the jacket and the boom mic falls on him. -- Carlito Caribbean Cool is supposed to point, but instead, he grabs an apple from his pocket and bites on it. Director: "Lose the apple!" Carlito spits the apple. Carlito: "That's not cool." -- Big Show: "All right, camera, jacket, mic ready. Let's do it." Director: "And..." Screen flashes to WrestleMania logo. Director: "And that's a wrap!" Furious over not getting a chance to take his turn, Show slams a production crew member through the stage. Later, Batista returns to what's left of the stage. Crew Member: "Can I help you?" Batista: "You talkin' to me?"
  21. Okay, the DMC may be slow and unreliable, but let's not forget that DeLorean created the original Pontiac GTO (not the rebadged Holden Monaro).
