  1. I just saw the PSA for the UN a couple of days ago. It definitely is not Macross Zero material. As far as animation quality goes, it's a cross between the Korean animated film Armageddon and the Korean series BASToF Syndrome.
  2. Time's up. Dat Pinche Haro!, if you have another trivia question, go ahead and post it.
  3. Most of the 2005 NEXTEL Cup season has been pretty boring, but last night's race in Phoenix was pretty exciting. Here were some highlights: - Although Kurt Busch won the race, Michael Waltrip was the driver of the night, finishing second place, despite hitting the wall twice while chasing Busch. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. also landed a top-10 finish, proving to everyone that Dale Earnhardt, Inc. is more of a force to be reckoned with than ever. - Jeff Burton scored his first top-5 finish in over two years. - Bobby Labonte's streak of bad luck ended last night with a top-10 finish. - Carl Edwards spun out halfway in the race and went two laps down, but in the end, he went back on the lead lap and finished in the top-10. Next week: Talladega.
  4. In 1999, TV Guide sponsored the Roush Racing #16 car, which was then driven by Kevin LePage. The paint scheme gimmick involved the current issue cover on the hood. At the fall Talladega race Pikachu was on the cover. Your turn, Dat Pinche Haro!
  5. Time to dust off this thread once again. Next question: Which title was the first anime to be featured on a NASCAR stock car? A. Yu-Gi-Oh! B. Pokemon C. Speed Racer D. Duel Masters E. Digimon Bonus: Name the number, car sponsor and driver of that car, as well as the team that owned that car.
  6. I always wanted to see that film. Even though Robby Gordon is a total jackass in NASCAR, I've been told that he's actually a great off-road racer.
  7. Old combiner type Super Robot Not to mention the unofficial Philippine national hero.
  8. Weta Workshop has just released concept sketches of the movie, which has been put on hold for the moment: http://www.wetaworkshop.co.nz/projects/fil...lm/neon_genesis
  9. Carl's Jr./Hardee's chicken breast strips are better. Besides, chickens don't have nuggets.
  10. At least it's not as commonly molested as a Civic. Aside from that, I really can't recommend any other FWD coupe. The '00-'04 Mitsubishi Eclipse is notoriously unreliable, not to mention that it's very fugly. Just buy the previous-generation model instead (even though some people actually painted theirs green to look like the one seen in The Fast and the Furious). The '03 Tiburon looks nice, but the 6MT suffers from major clutch problems. A friend of mine owns a black GT V6 with a 5AT, and so far, he claims the reliability on the car is bulletproof. Knock on wood, I guess. Of course, you can also go all the way back and get yourself either a Mazda MX-6 or Ford Probe. Both cars are actually very reliable (especially considering the fact that they're Fords).
  11. On the May 14 race at Richmond International Raceway, Kyle Busch (#5) will have a full-blown Episode III paint scheme on his car. Now this is one I wouldn't mind owning in 1/24 diecast.
  12. On May 1 at Talladega Superspeedway, Jeff Gordon (#24) will have Yoda on his Pepsi-sponsored car.
  13. Slightly OT, but still Star Wars-related: Episode III will be heavily promoted in NASCAR this month and next month. This Saturday night (4/23) at Phoenix International Raceway, the cars of Dale Jarrett (#88) and Elliott Sadler (#38) will sport M&M's "Jedi vs. Sith" colors.
  14. Beer, for the most part, doesn't make me sick (except maybe for Coors Light, which gave me bad indigestion). Lately, I've been drinking a lot of Smirnoff Ice, as I found out that it's just alcoholic lemonade. Haven't tried the Triple Black one, though.
  15. Well, since you brought up the subject and you sound like you know the answer, what does piss taste like?
  16. FYI, Guinness is Stout, NOT beer. And while I occasionally drink beer, I'm more into hard liquor - especially Jägermeister, Ketel One, Captain Morgan + Coke, and the occasional Vodka Martini (shaken, not stirred).
  17. Now for some anime on UMD news, courtesy of the Anime News Network:
  18. Here are my personal favorite beers by region: Asia Orion (Japan) San Miguel Super Dry (Philippines) Sapporo (Japan) Tsingtao (China) Asahi Dry (Japan) Europe St. Pauli's Girl (Germany) Grolsch (Holland) Heineken (Holland) Lowenbrau (Sweden) Beck's (Germany) North America Gordon Biersch Märzen (USA) Labatt Blue (Canada) Corona (Mexico) Samuel Adams (USA) Budweiser Select (USA) Australia Fosters
  19. Personally, I thought the Celica lost its appeal when Toyota switched it to FWD in 1986. The current one looks okay, but the engine has wimpy torque. If you want a reliable used FWD sports coupe, your best bet would be an Acura Integra. Just as long as you avoid all the aftermarket rice.
  20. I really don't see any Ferrari-styling on either of those two cars, but if you want to talk about a poor man's Ferrari, look no further than at the current-generation Tiburon, which, I'm told, was supposedly designed by Pininfarina.
