  1. Yeah, micro R/Cs have died down in popularity. I stopped collecting Bit Char-G - and micro R/Cs in general - late last year; and now, I'm concentrating on XMODS.
  2. I've never seen that before. Did you see if your nearest toy store has other units of the same variation? Now I wonder exactly how many variations there are for this toy.
  3. The 2007 Ford Shelby Cobra GT 500 stats are in. If the car can attain the estimated ratings, I'm definitely buying one. Car and Driver Preview: 2007 Ford Shelby Cobra GT 500
  4. Yeah. Already reviewed here. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=6921
  5. I haven't done anything with my Tumbler other than what you see on the pics. The version I have is actually pretty rare around here. I went to every Wal-Mart, Target and K-B Toys within the San Fernando Valley, and all they had were battle-damaged ones. Out of the 100+ units at TRU in Porter Ranch, there are probably less than 10 in a showroom finish. I'm tempted to buy a battle-damaged one so I can paint the desert camouflage colors on it. BTW, Noel, how about posting pics of yours?
  6. Thanks. I'm deciding on whether or not to repaint the projectiles. The Tumbler costs $24.99 at Toys 'R' Us. And right now, when you buy it, you can get a limited edition bronze Batman figure for free.
  7. Earlier tonight, I talked to one of my friends, who works as a senior manager at AMC Theatres in Burbank, CA. Last night, I mentioned that I saw the Tumbler in person. My friend talked to one of the Warner Bros. execs and got some detailed info on the vehicle: - Eight Tumblers were made at $500,000 each. Two were destroyed during production. One has functional weapon bays. - The Tumbler weighs no more than three tons, yet it can go 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. He also asked the WB exec if the company will show off any more movie cars. The exec said two words: General Lee.

  9. The 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse has been tested. And the results are rather disappointing. Car and Driver Road Test: Mitsubishi Eclipse GT V6 Bhop73, if you're still around, it looks like you'll have to stick with your DSM a bit longer.
  10. None of the above. PCs (especially those powered by the AMD Athlon 64) will always beat any console.
  11. Forget it. There's no use in reasoning with Togo. He already admitted to joking about having me banned, but having me killed is a different story.
  12. Earlier tonight on SmackDown!: - Well, we saw it coming - Randy Orton is SmackDown!'s second draft pick. Just like HBK vs. Angle on RAW, we'll once again see RKO feud with the Undertaker. In other news: - ECW One Night Stand may be over, but people are still talking about what happened beyond the PPV. During the WWE vs. ECW melee, JBL legitimately bloodied up the Blue Meanie. Apparently, because of his ties with Vinnie Mac, he won't be receiving any disciplinary action anytime soon. - There was also a backstage altercation between Francine and Dawn Marie that nearly wound up being a catfight. - Former WWE Diva Rochelle Loewen spoke out on how Randy Orton made her leave the company. Article here.
  13. Cool. I'll set my VCR, then.
  14. Consider yourself lucky that you've never seen Steel. It makes Gen-X look like Sin City.
  15. Box 1 has the first 12 episodes. Since Gatchaman is 105 episodes long, you might be looking at 18 discs total just for the series alone (not counting the bonus discs on the boxed sets).
  16. Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman ( 科学忍者隊ガッチャマン ) Fuji TV/Tatsunoko Productions, 1972-1974 ADV Films, 2005 Directed by Hisayuki Toriumi (Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman, Area 88) Created by the late Tatsuo Yoshida (Mach Go Go Go, Shinzo Ningen Casshan) Running Time: 22 minutes per episode Rated TV-PG for graphic violence, mature situations and mild language. "They're sometimes five, and sometimes one...the White Shadow that steals close without showing its true form." A new threat appears all over the world in the form of the terrorist group known as the Galactor. To combat the forces of Galactor, well-renowned scientist Kouzaburou Nambu unleashes the Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, a team of five young heroes skilled in the art of ninjutsu and dressed in unique bird-like costumes. Story: A- For nearly three decades, this classic anime series has been presented to American audiences as the severely edited incarnations Battle of the Planets and G-Force. Then, just a few years ago, when Rhino Video released the first BOTP DVD, they included the original uncut episodes in very small increments. Today, thanks to the folks at ADV Films, you can now experience Gatchaman the way it was meant to be. Lay witness the adventures of Ken, Joe, Jun, Jinpei and Ryu, as they battle Galactor and thwart their evil plans. You'll also see how the show became an inspiration to today's anime and tokusatsu shows. Animation: B Yes, the animation is old and a bit outdated, but it still looks cool, even after over 30 years. From the funky bird outfits to the legendary God Phoenix, Gatchaman has it all. Character designs by Yoshida. Mechanical designs by Mitsuki Nakamura (Mach Go Go Go, Hurricane Polymar). Soundtrack: A Dare-da?! Dare-da?! Dare-da?! Bob Sakuma's jazzy orchestral score remains one of the most memorable anime soundtracks of all-time. As a matter of fact, some of the tracks were also used in the 1994 OAV remake. And let's not forget the groovy theme "Gatchaman no Uta." Sub vs. Dub Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman features Katsuji Mori (Garma in Mobile Suit Gundam, Nephrite in Sailor Moon) as Ken, Isao Sasaki as Joe, Kazuko Sugiyama (Ten in Urusei Yatsura) as Jun, Yoko Shioya (Tetsuro in The Guyver) as Jinpei, the late Shingo Kanemoto as Ryu, Toru Ohira as Dr. Nambu, Mikio Terashima (Zanzibal in Choudenji Machine Voltes V) as Berg Katse, and Nobuo Tanaka as Sosai X. After decades of horrible dubs, Gatchaman gets an English dub that's actually tolerable. Featured voices include Leraldo Anzaldua as Ken, Brian Jepson (Tetsuya in Mazinkaiser) as Joe, Kim Prause (Rin in Maburaho, Aya in Super GALS!) as Jun, Luci Christian (Kaname in Full Metal Panic!, Yukari-chan in Azumanga Daioh) as Jinpei, Victor Carsrud (Matsuzaki in Samurai Gun) as Ryu, Andy McAvin (Kimura in Azumanga Daioh, Mardukas in Full Metal Panic!) as Dr. Nambu, Edwin Neal as Berg Katse, and Winston Parish as Leader X. DVD Extras: B+ (Boxed Set) Each DVD features gorgeous artwork by famed comic artist Alex Ross (Marvels), textless closing animation sequences, and commentary by the English staff and cast. But for the most bang for your buck, get the boxed set ($22.99 at Best Buy, including a $5 gift card). The box features an awesome painting by Ross and an extra DVD with the following features (many of which are rather useless): - Profile: Ken Washio the Eagle - Character sketches for Ken - Interview with Leraldo Anzaldua (Ken) - Audition Footage: Ken (English dub) - Episode Sketches - Interview with ADR Director Charles Campbell - The Origin of Tatsunoko Productions: A Mini-Documentary - And We Were Watching - an article on what was on U.S. TV while Japan had Gatchaman. - Unused Ending Credit Sequences - Gatchaman Modellock Commercial - featuring one of the earliest Gatchaman toys. The Bottom Line If you have Battle of the Planets or G-Force on DVD, it's time to trade them in for Gatchaman. Still an awesome anime, not to mention one of the best spy thrillers ever made. 17. In the Batman: Year One comics, Joe Chill (NOT "Coolie," BTW) killed Bruce's parents.
  18. And BTW, Togo, don't give me sorry excuses like, "I didn't mean to say that," or, "It was just a joke." That just goes to prove that you're all bark and no bite. Your mouth's running checks your ass can't cash. Don't even apologize, Togo. If you want to kill me, what are you waiting for? I'm not hard to find.
  19. Just came back from AMC Theatres in Burbank, CA. The actual Tumbler was on display, and I must say that it's much smaller than expected. It's as wide as a Hummer, but it's no taller than a regular 4-door sedan and no longer than a mid-sized pickup. Nevertheless, it's an awesome work of art. As for the movie itself, I couldn't agree more that Batman Begins is the best of the entire bunch. Gone are the hokey elements and cartoonish designs that marred the last few films. Instead, you have more realistic settings and much darker elements. And despite the fact that Scarecrow was a total wuss in the film, Christian Bale and Liam Neeson really make the movie worth the ticket. I'll be watching it and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith again this Saturday.
  20. Oooh...did you just give me a death threat, Duke? Bring your guns if you must. I don't give a rat's ass if you want to kill me. Just name the place. Or are you just chickenshit?
  21. All right, that's it. I'm watching it tonight. If it's as entertaining as Sin City, then it's worth the ticket.
  22. The Tumbler's not that bad. At least it beats George Clooney's Batmobile.
