  1. It's that time of year again. This weekend, San Diego will once again host the world's largest comic book convention. And despite missing MWCON and AX this year, I will be at SDCC this Saturday as part of ReelMarks Studios. Anyone else here planning to attend the comic con?
  2. Time to bring everyone updated with wrestling news. - The following WWE superstars were just released early this month: Bubba Ray Dudley D-Von Dudley Joy Giovanni Kenzo Suzuki Matt Morgan Charlie Haas Jackie Gayda Marty Jannetty Dawn Marie Mark Jindrak Maven Shannon Moore James Yun (Akio) David Heath (Gangrel) Billy Kidman Spike Dudley - Yeah, fire the good wrestlers and keep Viscera on TV? That sure makes sense, doesn't it? - In addition, James E. Cornette has been fired from OVW for slapping a rookie wrestler backstage. - After months of "You Screwed Matt!" and "We Want Matt!" chants from rabid fans, Matt Hardy made his return to the WWE on this week's episode of RAW. As expected, he's feuding with Edge and Lita, but him telling WWE to kiss his @$$ on live TV is rather odd. - And the reason for all those releases: Brock Lesnar.
  3. The DVD release by Geneon Entertainment came out a few weeks ago. Did anyone here pick it up?
  4. Sweet ride, Max. I've finally decided that by February of next year, I'll trade in my Civic HX Coupe for a 2006 Ford Mustang V6. As much as I want a GT, it's completely out of my budget. Next year's model will feature a new option package called the "Pony Package," which costs $1,195 over the V6's price. The package, which includes foglamps (smaller than the GT's), a retro-style grille layout and the GT's 17" Bullitt rims, makes the V6 look much more substantial than its base model. 7. Holy crap! I can't wait to get the movie on DVD.
  8. I'll consider it, but right now, my funds are dry.
  9. Be more specific. The original series spawned three theatrical features (the first one being just episode 13 re-edited for the big screen). The recent titles (Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, 555 and Blade) had their own theatrical features; some being follow-ups to the TV storyline, others being completely alternate retellings (i.e. Kamen Rider 555: Paradise Lost). Kamen Rider Hibiki, the current series, will have a big screen feature (alongside the Magiranger movie) later this year.
  10. Like mpchi said, the regular action figures lack articulation. As for now, I only have the Battle Gear Batman, as the other variations aren't in the movie at all. It looks good, but could be better. (When replying to this quote, remove all tags before posting.) Notice that there is some excess glue on the chest where the cape attaches to the upper torso. Even with an X-ACTO knife, it's gonna be a bitch to clean off. I will, however, give Mattel props for some detailed sculpting they did under the figure's left foot. If you have the figure (and possibly every other Batman figure in this toy line), you'll see that the ultrasonic bat attractor is sculpted on the sole. You'll just need some white paint and a red marker to make it stand out.
  11. Here in the L.A. Valley, they're not available at Target, Wal-Mart or K-B Toys. When I visited TRU in Burbank, I only saw one of them among 50+ battle-damaged ones. TRU in Porter Ranch might still have at least two of them in stock.
  12. The Cyclone (not the transforming bike) has always been white, just like the General Lee being orange and K.I.T.T. being black. Kamen Rider bikes have always been either street bikes or dirt bikes (majority being the latter). This new one is too much of a touring bike, and it's really awkward to see Kamen Rider just cruising around. This bike, on the other hand, looks like a worthy successor to the original Cyclone. I'm just not used to seeing bikes other than Suzukis as Kamen Rider bikes.
  13. Masked Rider was Saban's bastardization of Kamen Rider BLACK RX (1988), which was a distant sequel to the original 1971 TV series. For more information on the original Kamen Rider, here are some links: Shotaro Ishinomori's Kamen Riders Igadevil's Kamen Rider Page Kamen Rider Movie Collection Review
  14. A new series will eventually come out next year. Just wait for further announcements from Toei.

  16. It's not a new show; it's a new theatrical release.
  17. Yeah, tell me about it. The first bike is too laid-back, not to mention that it's nowhere near as aggressive as the original. On the other hand, the second bike looks pretty good.
  18. Okay, this thread's become a lost cause. Just lock it up. I don't care anymore if some stupid newbie or MGREXX will post another Yukikaze thread.
  19. Rather than come up with a new Kamen Rider series, Toei is remaking the original series. Kamen Rider the First features Masaya Kikawada (Motoki in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon) and Hassei Takano as the Double Riders. Kamen Rider the First Exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Kamen Rider the First
  20. Last comparison shots. I should paint those buttons black...
  21. Now that we have pics, here are comparison shots between the black Batmobile and the battle-damaged Batmobile:
  22. The battle-damaged one ain't too bad, Noel. Just get a metallic gold Sharpie marker and you're all set.
  23. Wow...Batman's everywhere these days. Especially since yesterday's race at Michigan International Speedway was aptly titled Batman Begins 400.
