  1. All we have to do now is take these lies And make them true somehow All we have to see is that I don't belong to you And you don't belong to me, yeah yeah! Freedom! Freedom! Freedom! You've got to give for what you take Freedom! Freedom! Freedom! You've got to give for what you take... MG 1/100 Freedom Gundam - Review by Yellow Submarine
  2. I had both the VF-1A and VF-1S when they came out. Had to wait a month or two with the VF-1S due to the crooked tail fin decal debacle. Eventually, I sold my VF-1A, but I bought the Super/Strike Pack for my VF-1S. Here are some old vids for spanner to quote.
  3. I went and rewatched this scene: Yes, the new film should explain how Dr. Okun survived this ordeal if he was confirmed dead. Furthermore, if the lab windows were not bulletproof, why didn't the alien attempt to break them in the first place instead of this long exposition?
  4. I think it's implied that the alien just wrapped its tentacle on his neck to communicate with the President and didn't strangle him. Or they might use the twin brother trope just like every other sci-fi film.
  5. There's an old saying: "One man's trash is another man's treasure." But in this case, trash is trash.

  7. In Macross Frontier, the main cast shared characteristics with those from the original series. For example, Ranka Lee was based on the TV version of Lynn Minmay while Sheryl Nome was patterned after the DYRL version, Ozma Lee = Roy Focker, Catherine Glass = Misa Hayase, etc. For Macross Delta, which characters from past series do the main cast have in common? Here's what I picked up so far: 1. Hayate Immelman = Alto Saotome and a little bit of Shin Kudo 2. Freyja Wion = Ranka Lee 3. Arad Mölders = Ozma Lee (as a commander) 4. Chuck Mustang = Ozma Lee (as a Fire Bomber fan) 5. Bridge Bunnies are Bridge Bunnies
  8. Turbo Kid EMA Films/Timpson Films/Epic Pictures Group, 2015 Written and Directed by François Simard, Anouk Whissell and Yoann-Karl Whissell Running Time: 95 minutes Rated R for extreme violence and profanity. Cast Munro Chambers as The Kid Laurence Leboeuf as Apple Michael Ironside (Richter in Total Recall, Katana in Highlander II) as Zeus Edwin Wright as Skeletron Aaron Jeffery (Thomas Logan in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) as Frederick Romano Orzari as Bagu Synopsis It is the year 1997. Wars and nuclear fallout have created a post-apocalyptic society called "The Wasteland", ruled by the tyrannical Zeus. A lone teenage scavenger known only as The Kid spends his days riding his BMX bike and trading junk for supplies and issues of Turbo Rider, a comic book from the old civilization. One day, he meets a girl named Apple and reluctantly brings her to scavenging trips after she entraps him with a tracking device. But after Apple is kidnapped by a bandit, The Kid stumbles upon a crashed ship, where he discovers and puts on the suit of his childhood hero. Using his new abilities, Turbo Kid races to save his girl from execution at the hands of Zeus. Lowdown Much like Kung Fury, Turbo Kid is a love letter to the '80s - particularly the action and sci-fi B-movies of that decade. The sets look simple, the cinematography feels like a Cannon film, the costumes are loud in color, and the acting is over the top. Being also a tribute to Peter Jackson's earlier works, this film is an extreme splatter fest that rivals Bad Taste and perhaps even Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky. The CG effects add to the overall cheesiness. Of all the cast members, Laurence Labeouf steals the show as Apple, a rather schizophrenic girl with Jem hair and makeup. Michael Ironside really hams it up as the main antagonist Zeus. But if there's one thing that seals the deal, it's the music. The synthpop score by Le Matos is simply mesmerizing, with shades of John Carpenter and Jan Hammer. It easily rivals Mitch Murder and Lost Years' works for Kung Fury. The cast of Turbo Kid know it's silly, but they just roll with it. And in the end, it comes off as one of the most rad movies to come from the independent scene. Rating: A- Links Official Turbo Kid Website Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 88% - "A nostalgic ode to kids' movies of yesteryear, Turbo Kid eyes the past through an entertaining -- albeit surprisingly gory -- postmodern lens." 9. In other bad news, lead vocalist Brian Johnson has ended his 36-year stint with AC/DC due to concerns over his hearing loss. However, there are conflicting reports that Johnson was fired from the band. Huge cracks have formed within AC/DC this decade. In 2014, co-founder Malcolm Young was forced to retire after being diagnosed with dementia. Drummer Phil Rudd, who was part of the classic lineup, was fired in 2015 following his arrest and conviction for drug charges and a planned murder. Perhaps it's time for AC/DC to just hang it up. For the remainder of AC/DC's tour, the lead vocalist position will be filled by none other than Axl Rose, who recently brought Slash and Duff McKagan back into Guns N' Roses.
