You think Miami traffic is bad? Try driving in L.A. in the rain. I have to be extra cautious, as most Angelenos have no experience driving in the rain. And even with bad traffic, I'll never trade in stick for an auto. The only thing worse than L.A. traffic is Manila traffic. Rush-hour traffic at 6 mph and no stoplights at the main road (must take designated U-turns instead of left turns).

Man, that Gundam controller sure had a big mouth. Too bad his Gundam couldn't back it up.

Wizard World Comic Convention '06
areaseven replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
In many cases, it should be the only comic con in the West Coast. Wizard World just isn't going anywhere these days when it comes to attracting crowds. Now for some news I gathered around most of the booths: Manga Entertainment Keith Burgess & Co. were promoting Karas. Other than that, one side of the booth had a DJ mixing machine, and they were giving away DVDs to anyone who danced for 30 seconds. I won a Macross Plus boxed set. FUNimation Just an announcement that they're releasing Desert Punk (Sunabozu) this Summer, and that they'll have a private screening of Negima. Top Cow Productions They showed a trailer for the Witchblade anime. Don't know who's actually releasing it domestically, though. SpikeTV TNA's Jeff Jarrett and Jackie Gayda were on hand to sign autographs. Samoa Joe is supposed to show up today. Unfortunately, I'm at work. SpikeTV also gave away promo materials for the upcoming Blade TV series. Mattel The booth displayed new and upcoming toys for Superman Returns, Naruto, Cars and Yu-Gi-Oh. Sony The whole con was boring, so I spent most of the time playing GT4 and trying out Sony's bike racing game Tourist Trophy. It's basically GT4, only with race bikes, so the game physics are completely different. Other Booths The booth with Margot Kidder and Jack O'Halloran was selling tons of Superman and DC Comics merchandise, as well as bootlegs of the "lost" director's cut of Superman II. Didn't have $20 on me, though. So if anyone here has seen this version, fill us in on the details. BTW, while Kidder was out on break, the guy in charge of that booth was talking with O'Halloran about how much of a b*tch she was when it came to flight and hotel arrangements. Charisma Carpenter was also at the con to sign autographs. Didn't get a chance to take pics of her, though. -
RVD told me that there will be another ECW PPV later this year. Hopefully, Styles (and no one else, just like the good old days) does the commentary. Hope you attend the Hall of Fame ceremony. I can't even imagine the crowd reaction for Bret when he gets inducted. For those who just tuned in, here is a short list of current inductees of this year's Hall of Fame: 1. Bret "Hitman" Hart 2. Eddie Guerrero 3. Mean Gene Okerlund 4. Sensational Sherri 5. Verne Gagne (founder of AWA) 6. Tony Atlas 7. The Blackjacks This year's ceremony is rather different, as it includes people who were more successful outside the WWE. But then again, now that WWE owns all of AWA's video archives, it makes a lot of sense.

Even though he is the boss' son, Shane-O Mac has been able to deliver some of the best matches in and out of the ring. Of course, he ripped off RVD in the process, but still, no one expected him to take such big bumps (i.e. his matches with Kane and Big Show). Hell, I didn't expect HBK to execute that superplex off the ladder through the tables. As for Good Ol' JR, I hope he's not back on RAW full-time, as I was already getting used to Joey Styles. Besides, weren't you guys already sick of the following lines? - "Slobber-knocker!" - "[insert finishing move here x2]" - "...Mrs. Foley's baby boy..." - "Stone Cold! Stone Cold!" And yeah, Edge should stop wasting his time with Foley. Give Edge a better opponent, like RVD. Speaking of RVD, he wasn't on SNME last night, as he was shopping at the Wizard World Comic Convention. I met up with him and checked out what he bought. He got a bootleg ECW 10-disc set and a Soundwave bust.

Wizard World Comic Convention '06
areaseven replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Tiffany Taylor (Playboy Miss November 1998) is a frequent guest at pretty much every comic book convention in California. I've talked about her at the 2004 and 2005 San Diego Comic Con threads. -
Wow...those figures are pretty interesting. BTW, wolfx, I couldn't help but notice your avatar. Is Karas pretty good?

Perhaps the best booth to hang around was that of SpikeTV, where they previewed the upcoming Blade TV series. -
Just came back from the Wizard World Comic Convention today, and despite moving to a larger venue (L.A. Convention Center instead of the one in Long Beach), the whole con looked very empty. Here are some pics: Of course, what would a con be without special guests? Don't know if anyone here remembers them at all, though... And then, I realized what was missing here...

If you missed Saturday Night's Main Event earlier tonight, consider yourself lucky. It was no different from an average episode of RAW - only with more time-consuming segments such as the drinking contest between Austin and JBL. And while the HBK/Shane-O Mac street fight was unbelievably good, the ending was just crap with Vinnie Mac doing a Montreal Incident on HBK.

Yeah, for some reason, the F&F franchise always has to have a rapper attached to it (F&F had Ja Rule, while 2F2F had Ludacris). Hopefully, the races won't be CG like in 2F2F. BTW, as reported a few months ago, a 1967 Mustang fastback with a Nissan (the RB26DETT, IIRC) motor appears in the movie. I guess an American muscle car has to be attached to each movie, but putting a Japanese motor in a Mustang is just wrong in many ways.

Three years ago, I was considering a Tiburon as my next car. However, when I checked out NewTiburon.com, I read numerous complaints on the overall quality, namely these problems: 1. Clutch on the 6MT gets fried even under normal driving conditions. 2. Car pulls to the right while driving on a straight line. 3. "Orange Peel" paint job. 4. Weak subwoofer. For problems 1 and 3, owners supposedly were denied warranty coverage by Hyundai. Problem 2 was apparently unsolved, even after numerous suspension adjustments. Problem 4 was apparently caused by reverse wiring. I don't know if KingNor had any problems with his Tiburon (other than someone "flattening" his hood). One of my friends owns a black '03 V6, and the driver's side window stopped working after two years. But like yellowlightman said, the best sports cars are RWD with manual transmissions.

Holy crap! A 400hp Tiburon?!? KingNor's gonna love this...
