  1. Top drift racer Rhys Millen has teamed up with Hyundai to make a racing version of the upcoming Genesis coupe, which made its debut at this year's SEMA auto show. 2010 Hyundai Rhys Millen Racing Genesis Coupe
  2. Being a 007 fan for nearly three decades, I have to say that Quantum of Solace is a very good movie. Obviously, nothing will ever beat Casino Royale, but this new film is very entertaining and fast-paced. Unlike the Bond films of the past, there is absolutely nothing fancy about this one. We get a brutal car chase scene that is, IMO, probably the best of its kind since Ronin. Seeing an Aston Martin DBS get mutilated like that will make most people cringe, but throughout the chase, it rightfully serves its purpose unlike the Bond cars of the past that were just for show. As far as Bond Girls go, Olga Kurylenko is just random. Never mind the fact that she's probably the first Bond Girl to not sleep with Bond at all. Her on-screen chemistry with Bond was almost non-existent. Hell, I was more interested in that hot redhead Gemma Arterton. Overall, it's not a perfect Bond film. But let's face it - this new film series is about a James Bond 007 who is still rough on the edges and nowhere near as polished as Sean Connery. And that alone makes Quantum of Solace worth the full ticket price.
  3. All this talk about military mecha, and I'm surprised no one's mentioned Gasaraki.
  4. PARENTAL ADVISORY: EXPLICIT ENGRISH!
  5. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. KISS co-founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons have mentioned that there will be no new KISS material in the foreseeable future. So, just to please their Japanese fans (or at least grab a quick Yen out of them), the current lineup (with Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, who have replaced Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, respectively) re-recorded 15 KISS classics on one CD. The result is nothing short of disastrous. It's a sad state of affairs when most KISS tribute bands sound better than this re-recording. At least the new Journey still sounds like classic Journey... 6. Couldn't have said it better myself. I hate automatic transmissions with a passion. Cars without a clutch pedal have no soul at all. Besides, everything's so much better with stick than with automatic - performance, weight, fuel economy, etc.
  7. It's true that Waterworld is a crappy movie, but unfortunately, it actually broke even at the box office. Now if you really want to talk about money wasted into absolute garbage, there's always Battlefield Earth collecting dust at your nearest rental store.
  8. Sweet. Now only if Centurions were released on DVD...

  11. Just what we need: another over-budgeted Audi commercial. Transporter 3 brings back Jason Statham as courier Frank Martin. In this film, he awakens to discover an explosive bracelet attached to his wrist. If he steps over 75 feet away from his new Audi A8, he blows up. Sound familiar? Transporter 3 Trailer
  12. The scenes involving the Audi crashes were a mess because according to director John Favreau, they had too many built-in safety features to do the desired stunt work. Iron Man and Audi Cars
  13. So I went to Best Buy today and tried out the demos for both Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour. Here are my observations: Rock Band 2 (XBOX 360) - The wireless Fender Stratocaster controller supposedly has improved electronics, but I'm still not liking the spongy strum bar. - The wireless drum kit is now equipped with rubber padding to reduce noise. Still doesn't do as much as foam pads you can get on eBay, though. - In terms of gameplay and graphics, nothing's changed from the first game. Harmonix is sticking to the philosophy of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Guitar Hero World Tour (PS3) - RedOctane's new wireless guitar feels very much like Kramer Striker from the PS2 version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The Whammy bar is longer and the select button has been redesigned to look like the guitar's bridge (making it easier to press for Star Power). Didn't get to try the new touch pad, as most of the songs on the demo playlist don't take advantage of it. - The new drum section of the game is frustratingly difficult. When RedOctane said the pads are pressure-sensitive, they mean you have to really bang on them in order to score points. - The new graphics interface is much cleaner and more organized than the previous games, which is very uncharacteristic for a Guitar Hero game.
  14. Okay then, why did they censor Nick Fury? No film company other than Marvel Studios has the rights to that character.
  15. Oh, now it's hard to decide between Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2: "Rising up, back on the streets Did my time, took my chances Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet Just a man and his will to survive..." "So many times, it happens too fast You change your passion for glory Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past You must fight just to keep them alive..."
  16. It's official: Konami's Rock Revolution is an Epic Fail! "Chop Suey!" "Run to the Hills" "Walk"
  17. Meh. It would've been better if some Italian film company adapted Ninja Scroll into a Spaghetti Western instead.
  18. This British supercar is powered by a 7 liter GM V8 with an output of 550 bhp. Arash claims that the AF10 can go from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 204 mph. It does look a lot like the Enzo Ferrari, but with a better front end. 2009 Arash AF10
  19. Be careful with what you wish for. Hollywood is now a giant Xerox machine these days.
  20. After over a decade of delays (well, mostly procrastination, the way I see it), Axl Rose (sorry, but it's just not Guns N' Roses without Slash, Duff McKagan Izzy Stradlin and Matt Sorum)* will finally release the much talked-about Chinese Democracy album on November 23 exclusively through Best Buy. You know what this means - Free Dr. Pepper for everyone in America (except Slash and Buckethead). (*Yes, Steven Adler was the original drummer, but let's face it - Sorum's a better drummer.) 21. In that case, why not have Dwayne Johnson as Rhody?
