  3. The other thread has already reached X number of pages before being moved to the Hall of Super Topics.
  4. Nissan has just unveiled pictures of their GT-R SpecV. The beefed-up version of Nissan's exotic-killer features more carbon fiber parts, lighter wheels, titanium-coated exhausts, carbon-ceramic brakes and special Recaro front seats (and no rear seats). In addition, the engine will be equipped with a special turbo boost control device; no word on how much bhp the engine will churn out. The SpecV will be available in an exclusive Ultimate Black Opal color and will be sold at only seven select Nissan dealerships in Japan for 15,750,000 yen (roughly $172,840). Damn - you can get two standard GT-Rs and a 370Z for that kind of money. 2009 Nissan GT-R SpecV
  5. I saw a few Q-Steer cars at the toy store near my place, and I was surprised by the price. They cost a lot less than ZipZaps! I'm probably gonna go pick one up. It's just a matter of which one to get first.
  6. It's hard to believe that after Takara merged with Tomy, both Digi-Q and Bit Char-G were quickly discontinued. Meanwhile, RadioShack continues to sell their crappy ZipZaps (now under the label XMODS Micro RC). And now, Takara Tomy has a new line of micro R/Cs. Has anyone here picked one up? And how are they compared to the old Bit Char-G and Digi-Q cars?
  7. Wait a minute - why settle with just 10 albums when you can have all of your albums on one MP3 player?

  10. So, does anyone still care about this series? Despite all the backlash and low ratings, NBC still continues to keep the show afloat. This month, the new season kicks off with three key characters being killed off. Yawn.
  11. Best Anime Series – N/A. I pretty much retired from anime last year. Will probably pick up Macross Frontier later this year. Worst Anime Series – Golgo 13. Boring-ass episodes and lackluster music. Best Anime Film – N/A Worst Anime Film – N/A Best Non-Anime TV series – Dexter Worst Non-Anime TV series – Knight Rider. Nothing can suck as much as Team Knight Rider, but this show is just very close. Best Non-Anime Film – See, this is a tough one. The Dark Knight because I expected it, and Iron Man because I didn't expect it at all. Worst Non-Anime Film – Resiklo. If you thought Transmorphers and G-Saviour were the worst mecha/robot films ever made, you haven't seen this Philippine made heap of garbage. Best Album – Dark Passion Play by Nightwish. It was so awesome to discover the band, see them live and meet them in person in a span of just four months. Honorable Mention: Somewhere Back in Time: The Best of 1980-1989 by Iron Maiden Worst Album – Anything that came out on the Pop category (The Block by New Kids on the Block, etc.). Best Game – (tie) Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour. Yeah, it's hard to like both, but let's face it - both games are equally fun. Worst Game – Rock Revolution. Proof that Konami doesn't care.
  12. ikhii, that's an awesome VF-25S, but is it possible to either size down your pic or split it into separate pics so it'll be easier to view? And BlueMax, stop quoting large images just to post a four-word sentence. Not cool at all.
  13. Hmmm...that's weird. Perhaps there's a patch you can download to correct the problem. When I got GHWT for the PS3, I found out that the guitar works on RB and RB2 (but not on the RB Track Pack Vol. 2 unless you download the songs from the PSX Network to play on RB and RB2).
  14. Though I really don't like the new Mustang, the new Shelby GT500 actually looks good. 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
  15. EDIT: Changed pictures to those that haven't been quoted by that idiot taksraven below.
  16. Pop songs done right: Children of Bodom cover Britney Spears' "Oops I Did It Again"
  17. Folks, the review was just the icing on the cake. The whole saga gets worse... 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival
  18. And your point? (Other than the fact that Johnny Rico was originally portrayed in the novel as a Filipino.)
  19. Yeah, I already pointed out that the movie recycled the Battlefield Earth screenplay.
  20. Resiklo Imus Productions/Ignite Media/Star Cinema, 2007 Hah! Let's see if SciFi Channel will pick this up... Directed by Mark A. Reyes Running Time: 110 minutes Rated G (suggested PG-13). Contains violence and mature situations. Cast Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. as Col. Crisval Sarmiento Jennylyn Mercado as Bianca Dingdong Dantes as Angelo Michelle Madrigal as Dr. Miles Ella Cruz as Kiara Jairus Aquino as Arkin Lowdown My brother hates me. And just to prove it, he gave me a DVD copy of this movie for Christmas. The film begins with an asteroid on a collision course towards Earth. Then, all of a sudden, it shatters into pieces, revealing a mothership that launches squadrons of attack ships and, well, you know the rest... Shortly after the opening credits, we meet the film's protagonist, Col. Crisval Sarmiento, who stands in front of a grave site as he watches some home movies on his camcorder while recalling the first invasion that took away his family. And then we find out, as some hot chick is writing a journal, that the year is 2021 and while the aliens have taken over Earth and enslaved most of humanity, those who escaped their wrath in the Philippines live in a secluded sanctuary simply called "Paradise." And so, since most of civilization is nothing but landfill, mankind has to rely on recycled parts to build their own mecha to combat the alien threat. Okay, that's it - I'm gonna stop talking about the movie here, as you all know where this is leading to. Resiklo is the Tagalog word for "recycle," and it doesn't just imply the mecha used here. It also refers to the movie plot itself. Not only does the plot recycle scraps of other sci-fi films - most notably the over-budgeted disaster known as Battlefield Earth, but also all the elements that make Philippine Cinema nearly impossible to take seriously: the cheesiness of an action film, the overacting of a drama, the dry slapstick of a comedy and annoying child actors all over. (Surprisingly, it doesn't have the musical elements of the typical Tagalog comedy.) Hell, they even stepped it up by adding cheap CG effects in the mix. And the mecha - obviously, someone's been playing too much Mechwarrior and StarCraft. I'm surprised they didn't use jeepney parts to build those mechs. Sure, you'll say the Japanese sci-fi flick Returner is downright cheesy and cliche, but at least it's still fun to watch. Resiklo, on the other hand, is simply a train wreck. It makes G-Saviour look like The Godfather. It makes Steel look like The Dark Knight. It makes Robot Jox and Transmorphers look like Citizen Kane. Hell, it even makes Brokeback Mountain straight. Yes, it's that bad. And given its title, there's only one place it belongs - in the recycle bin. Rating: D- DVD Extras: F Trailers are not extras. Links Official Resiklo Homepage Reference Wikipedia
