  1. I always liked the old 356 and the 550 (never mind the fact that James Dean was killed in one). The 911 always looked good (except for the 996 series with its awkward-looking headlights). Was never a fan of the 944, but the 928 has always been an awesome machine. The Cayman is better-looking than the Boxster. The Carrera GT looks sexy, too. No comment on the 914. A Porsche Super looks better than the Panamera, and it has a purpose.

  5. Actually, it is the worst of the bunch (especially if you also count the Maserati Quattroporte). The Rapide is pointless, but still attractive. I was never a fan of Benzes, but the CLS at least comes from a company that makes sedans. And the Audi A7 hasn't even been fully revealed yet (other than the Sportback Concept, which isn't representative of the final version of the A7). The Panamera is not only pointless, but downright hideous. Who really wants that on their driveway?
  6. Here's a better idea: Make a Death Race sequel using the Panamera as the first car to be trashed by the barricade traps before the Dreadnought [insert action here] it.

I'll consider acrylics, noyhauser. Last time I checked my hobby shop, I wasn't impressed with the selection of metallic colors compared to the lacquers. Right now, my upcoming VF-25S Super Messiah project will use lacquers only. Perhaps when I actually get into my YF-19 or YF-21 kits, I'll go acrylic on them. On second thought, I have an assembled RahXephon kit that hasn't been painted yet. Maybe I'll start on that.
  8. Ouch. Good thing I decided not to continue collecting this line after the 25F. And mine is still loose after X coats of clear nail polish on the joints.

Thanks for the explanation, destroid. I think I'll stick to lacquer for now, as my local hobby shop has more lacquer colors than acrylic colors.

Hmmm...for the benefit of beginners, can anyone explain the difference between acrylic, enamel and lacquer paints?

Mr. Color paints tend to be more compatible with Gundam and Macross kits straight out of the bottle than Tamiya paints. Also, I had no problems painting the VF-25S's fin tips yellow without having to paint them white first (something I had to do with Tamiya paints in the past).

Just wondering, what do the resident modelers here at MW use for paints? When I first did Gundam and Macross kits, I started with Tamiya enamel paints. Then, when I moved to the U.S., I switched to Testor's enamel, as I was too lazy to switch to Tamiya acrylic. Today, I use Gunze Sangyo Mr. Color lacquer paints for my VF-25S kits.
  13. Bad News: Porsche just unveiled their hideous Panamera Turbo at the Shanghai Auto Show. If the Porsche execs were smart, they should've spent their money on a 928 successor instead of a pointless 4-door sports sedan. They already made that mistake by jumping the SUV bandwagon with the Cayenne. 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo
  14. Nissan just unveiled the new NISMO 370Z for the U.S. market. The 3.7 liter VQ-series V6 generates 350 bhp and 276 lb-ft torque. The car also has a stiffer suspension and larger brakes, and rides on RAYS 19" alloy wheels mounted with Yokohama ADVAN Sport Y-rated high performance tires (P245/40ZR19 front, P285/35ZR19 rear). The NISMO 370Z comes with only a six-speed manual transmission with Nissan's "SynchroRev Match" function, which automatically controls and adjusts engine speed while shifting. 2009 Nissan NISMO 370Z

  17. The biggest problem with A.I. is that it was 30 minutes over its running time. It should've just ended Instead, Since then, I have not seen a single Spielberg movie other than Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (another one that pissed me off).
  18. As far as Star Trek movies go, nothing can be worse than Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Personally, I don't think this new one will be a great film, but at the same time, it won't be such a bad one.
  19. As bad as it is, it's actually worth a few good laughs. Resiklo (the Philippine Battletech wannabe), on the other hand, is something you should test your pain threshold with.

  22. RDSport has a special performance kit for the BMW 335i. The kit consists of stiffer springs, anti-roll bars and custom Bilstein shocks, as well as a lightweight body kit. Under the hood, the twin-turbo 3.0 liter inline-6 generates 414 bhp and 404 lb-ft torque. With these kinds of numbers, why settle for an M3? 2009 RDSport BMW RS35 Biturbo
