  1. Finally got Voyager Megatron yesterday. After a couple of hours of panel line drawing, I transformed him, and I must say I'm very impressed. And to think I was about to buy the Leader version.
  2. I've been banned from Robotech.com around three times. The first was because I called someone a dumbass because he suggested Macross Plus be part of the RT universe. The second time was when Toynami had the incident where their DYRL Superposeables were missing their Gun Pods. I said Toynami sucks, and that got me the boot. I don't remember what got me banned for the third time, though.
  3. I'll pass on it too on grounds that it's just big chunks of plastic. For the price, Hasbro could've added a lot more detail on the toy, not to mention make Rampage movie-accurate in color.
  4. Ah, so Iowa has the Great Wall of Wheelie.
  5. Better than mine. Deluxe Bumblebee (both Preview and the lame-ass Cannon versions), Sideswipe and the twins are not to be found here. Starscream is selling out fast. If you haven't gotten him yet, you should. If you have movie Starscream 1.0, throw him away. No one's buying Gravity Bots or FABs. And I wonder how many people are actually buying the Bumblebee Plasma Cannon just to play 5 seconds of "The Touch 2007".
  6. How are your local stores holding with stock on ROTF toys? My local TRU has the Great Wall of Breakaway, Barricade and Rampage. Plenty of Voyager Megatrons in stock, but the Leader version is sold out. On the other hand, TRU is having trouble keeping Voyager Optimus Prime in stock, while they still have over a dozen Leader versions. No one's buying Demolishor, Mixmaster, Ironhide or Ratchet. Human Alliance Bumblebee is running out fast. Stratosphere is surprisingly selling out. The Whirl vs. Bludgeon gift pack is likely to just clog up shelves.
  7. Yeah, but telling Michael Bay to zoom the camera out is like telling Slash not to play guitar. It's like telling GM to stop building SUVs. It's like telling Kevin McKeever to grow balls. It's just not gonna happen. So if you want the action zoomed out, you're better off with a different director.
  8. In retrospect, Jetfire's jet mode isn't bad if you just paste him on a frame and hang him on a wall. The bottom kibble is bad, but nothing compared to Voyager Starscream 1.0 (which was absolute garbage in both modes, anyway) or Deluxe Dreadwing (which could've been an okay MiG-29).
  9. Yeah, I'm disappointed by all the robot kibble in jet mode. I'll still get Jetfire, though - just to combine him with Prime.
  10. Got wood? These guys do. As a graduate project at North Carolina State University, Joe Harmon Design of Durham, NC, is building a supercar out of wood composites. The Splinter will weigh approximately 2,500 lbs. and its engine is expected to generate 600 bhp. Let's hope the engine doesn't catch fire, though. Splinter Wooden Supercar
  11. I'm trying to decide which is worse - this movie or Seagal's Lightning Bolt energy drink.
  12. Looks like Karmann isn't dead after all. Reports say they are sealing a $14 million deal with Volkswagen. Perhaps we'll be seeing the second-coming of the Karmann Ghia soon? Karmann Back in Business?
  13. It's a sad day today in the music world. Midnight, former lead vocalist and co-founder of the progressive metal band Crimson Glory died today at 3:30 a.m. R.I.P. Midnight.
  14. Can't be as bad as every Dodge Neon out on the streets. And I'm not even talking about the SRT-4.
  15. Very impressive, I must say.
  16. That used to be the norm, but the plague of ricing spread throughout all forms of vehicles even before The Fast and the Furious.
  17. So who in here is gonna watch the Michael Jackson memorial?
  18. Picked up Voyager Starscream today. It's a huge improvement over the first movie version, with better proportions and much less kibble in jet mode. I'm still not a fan of the robot mode, but this one is more tolerable. It's pretty much the best Voyager toy in the ROTF lineup, next to Megatron.
  19. How come Hasbro never commissioned anyone to make a G.I. Joe real-time strategy game to compete with Command & Conquer? That would've been a better idea than this crappy live-action film.
  20. Wake me up when Hollywood decides to do a Breakout movie.
  21. Has anyone here had any experience with knockoffs of the Animated toys? Today, I picked up a KO of the Activators Starscream figure (known in the package as "Dark Influence") for $3. For a bootleg, the packaging is impressive, with the figure neatly twist-tied. The figure itself is a dead-ringer for the real toy, with some differences. First, the spring-loaded activation feature is missing; the button is now part of the fuselage piece. Second, the plastic is in a glossy finish, as opposed to the flat finish of the real toy. And third, the figure has Autobot symbols on its wings instead of Decepticon symbols. I'll take a few pics and post them later this week.
