  1. Just wondering, are these better or worse than the Toynami 1/100 Valks?
  2. So, is anyone still watching this show?
  3. Thanks, Graham. Paint/printing blemishes aren't a problem for me; we get those in Yamato Valks all the time. Guess that means the Armored VF-25S is my primary target, then. The VF-25F (even the Tornado Messiah) is on the bottom of my list, as I'm not a fan of Alto.
  4. Just wanted to point out that Peaugh is one of the most respected toy reviewers on YouTube. He has the most comprehensive reviews on Transformers figures and now he's doing Macross stuff. Welcome aboard, Peaugh.
  5. Quick question: Next month, I plan to buy a 1/60 VF-25. As I've held off on buying one for the past year due to all the reported QC problems, I'm hoping the newer releases have improved. I'm leaning towards the VF-25S Armored Messiah, but if that one still has certain problems, which variant is the most trouble-free?
  6. Octopus Army really isn't Engrish; it is an actual brand that died out in the Philippines back in the '90s.
  7. Not by a longshot. Petty's always been known as a racer, not a performance car specialist. Putting his name on special one-off cars won't really help much with Dodge's reputation, as compared to Shelby, Roush or Saleen's contributions to Ford.
  8. It looks like Legion is officially the first box-office stinker of 2010. Legion - 21%
  9. You gotta love some of the comments on this game posted on YouTube.
  10. Are you saying she doesn't shave? Disgusting.
  11. There's already talks on the next-generation Mustang, and it looks like it will lose one of its most distinguishable characteristics: the solid rear axle. Report: Next-Generation Ford Mustang to Get Independent Suspension and Global Platform
  12. Fine, then. Let me spoil it out, since no one here plans on watching it. Van Damme vs. Lundgren
  13. This movie disregards everything past the first film.
  14. Universal Soldier: Regeneration Foresight Unlimited/Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, 2010 Directed by John Hyams Based upon characters created by Richard Rothstein, Christopher Leitch and Dean Devlin (Independence Day, Stargate). Running Time: 97 minutes Rated R for graphic violence and profanity. Cast Jean-Claude Van Damme (go look for the film Monaco Forever for his breakthrough role) as Luc Deveraux Dolph Lundgren (Jack Cain in I Come in Peace, He-Man in Masters of the Universe) as Andrew Scott Andrei "The Pitbull" Arlovski (MMA fighter) as NGU Mike Pyle (another MMA fighter) as Capt. Kevin Burke Synopsis Terrorists in Russia have kidnapped the prime minister's children and taken over the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. They demand the release of their comrades within 72 hours, or they kill the children and blow up Chernobyl. Among their ranks is a Next-Generation UniSol, which was smuggled in by a rogue scientist. Meanwhile, former UniSol Luc Deveraux is undergoing rehabilitation to return to society. With very little time left, the U.S. military drags Luc back in their hands and sends him to combat the terrorists, rescue the children and stop the bomb from detonating. Little does he know that waiting for him is a clone of his former nemesis Andrew Scott. Lowdown When will people learn that sequels never work for most movies? Take Universal Soldier, for example. The first film was an underrated masterpiece, but everything else made after that was crap. There were two direct-to-video sequels that didn't even have Van Damme. And then, there was the disastrous 1999 theatrical follow-up Universal Soldier: The Return. Universal Soldier: Regeneration is no different. There is absolutely no cohesive storyline in this film. The action is flat with nothing spectacular. And perhaps the biggest waste of time is Dolph Lundgren's appearance. He does absolutely nothing in this film but fight for about five minutes before . Andre Arlovski's role as a new UniSol does nothing for the film, either. Sure, he has some decent fights with Van Damme and fellow MMA fighter Mike Pyle, but other than that, he sucks on film. Unfortunately, it looks like this won't be the end of the franchise, given the film's ending. If you love action and sci-fi films and are a fan of the original Universal Soldier, do yourself a favor and skip this one. You will be utterly disappointed. 16. (I don't know why the last thread was locked, but I'm sure people here still want to talk about Avatar. Remember to keep the discussion clean and leave any political, racial or inappropriate comments at the front door.) Now, for updates on Avatar: - The film bagged two awards for Best Picture and Best Director for a Drama (James Cameron) at the Golden Globe Awards. - Worldwide ticket sales have topped US$1.6 billion, which means it just needs US$200 million more to overtake Titanic. And, as expected, Cameron will be making at least two sequels. The first sequel will take place shortly after the first. Sam Worthington has signed on to reprise his role as Jake Sully in future sequels. Meanwhile, Stephen Lang had this to say about his character, Col. Miles Quaritch:
  17. Anyone here voting for the "VFs" in Astro Plan 9 from Outer Space?
  18. Perhaps the RT fans should post a petition to make Astro Plan 9 from Outer Space the next RT title.
  19. R.I.P. Daisuke Gouri (1952-2010) Voice actor Daisuke Gouri was found dead on January 17 as a result of a suicide. In the Gundam universe, he did the voices of Dozle Zabi in the original series and Bask Om in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. He also did numerous voices in anime such as Dragon Ball Z, Trigun and Cowboy Bebop. In the video game world, he did the voices of Heihachi in Tekken and Bass in Dead or Alive
  20. This is yet another example of The Asylum's marketing tactics. Their specialty is producing what we call "mockbusters" - low-budget movies made to capitalize on a box-office hit.
  21. I predict that Tekken will at least be somewhere between DOA: Dead or Alive and Double Dragon*, but still below Street Fighter: The Movie. (*Yes, I know Double Dragon wasn't a fighting game to begin with, but when the movie came out, a fighting game was made for it.)
