Looks good and all, but I'll pass. Neither Toynami nor HG deserve my money.

Official 1/100 BANDAI VF Hi Metal VF-1J Valkyrie
areaseven replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Toys
Pre-production pics look good, but I'll wait until a VF-1S is released. Besides, there's always a laundry list of design bugs on the first release, and the second release usually does away with nearly all of them. -

Acura has come up with a vehicle that's just as ugly and useless as the BMW X6. -

BMW going front-wheel-drive? Say it ain't so (aside from their Mini Cooper...)! BTW, Mercedes-Benz does have FWD cars (A-Class and B-Class, which are not available in the U.S.) and they're absolutely overpriced junk heaps. Is Rear-Wheel-Drive Always Better? BMW Might Not Think So -

Weird-looking off-roader, this is. Debuting at this year's SEMA Convention, Local Motors' Rally Fighter sports a design inspired by WWII fighter planes. It weighs 3,200 lbs. and is powered by a 3-liter BMW twin-turbo diesel that generates 265 bhp and 425 lb-ft. torque. This results in 36 mpg on the highway and 30 mpg off-road. 2010 Local Motors Rally Fighter Official Site -

Actually, the more I look at it, the more I think it needs a Goodyear logo slapped on it. Screw the Goodyear Blimp! Just use the Blazer Valk!

I wonder just how many improvements they've made over the original HG ZZ kit.
-
The only two kits I got from that series were the 1/144 MS-06S Char's Zaku II (because Bandai didn't give Zeon suits equal rights to articulation at the time) and the Core Fighter/Core Booster set. I threw those glue tubes away, as I knew they were rubbish. Still, those kits were a PITA because of their low-tech assembly designs.

Must. Have.

Ditto. I liked the old 1988 1/100 RX-93 Nu-Gundam a lot; and for some reason, I still prefer it over the MG kit.
-
You mean the ones from the 0080 series? I almost bought one of those, but went with the Gelgoog-J instead.

Someone in Japan made this hilarious, yet innovative, stop-motion home video of the YF-19 Double Nuts.

Time for some Q&A: What was your very first Gundam model kit? Back when I was in high school in 1993, I went into a toy store and saw that they had some dusty Gundam kit boxes on a shelf. I didn't know what a Gundam was at the time, but I thought they looked cool; so I picked up a 1/144 HG Zeta Gundam for roughly US$6. In retrospect, the kit is flawed for having inaccurate wing designs (as they were based on the ZetaPlus kit from Gundam Sentinel), but it got me hooked on Gunpla for the rest of the 1990s. Other than that, these are the Gundam kits I've owned in the past: 1/100 RX-178 Gundam Mk. II (non-MG)* RX-93 Nu-Gundam (non-MG) HG Victory Gundam HG Victory-2 Gundam HG Wing Gundam Zero HG Gundam Epyon HG Gundam Deathscythe Hell Custom HG Gundam Heavyarms Custom MG RX-78-2 Gundam Special Coating Edition MG MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam Special Coating Edition MG RX-78 GP01 Gundam GP01 MG RX-78 GP01Fb Gundam GP01 Full Burner MG RX-78 GP03S Gundam GP03S 1/144 MS-06S Char's Zaku II (non-HGUC)* Core Fighter & Core Booster set* MSA-005 Methuss (non-HGUC)* RMS-106 HiZack (non-HGUC) RGM-79R GM II (non-HGUC) RX-93 Nu-Gundam (non-HGUC, without Fin Funnels) RX-78 NT1 Gundam NT1 (non-HGUC) MS-14J Gelgoog Jaeger (non-HGUC) HG RX-78-2 Gundam HG MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam RX-78 GP01 Gundam GP01 (non-HGUC)* RX-78 GP02A Gundam GP02A (non-HGUC)* RX-78 GP03S Gundam GP03S (non-HGUC) Gun Blastor Shining Gundam Wing Gundam 1/550 RX-78 GP03 Gundam GP03 Dendrobium (*Do not buy these kits if you see them. They are absolute crap!)

I understand that most Gundam fans make a big deal about the Core Fighter, but personally, I wouldn't care. I'm more inclined toward the overall detail and poseability. The 2.0 has mad articulation, but its cartoonish armor design is an acquired taste, and it somewhat clashes with the other MG kits.
-
I took a look at the page and noticed that both 2.0 and One Year War (OYW) versions have nearly the exact same articulation. Does the OYW version have any drawbacks that would favor the 2.0?
-
I've been retired from Gunpla collecting for nearly a decade, so over the weekend, I decided to go to my local hobby store and check out all the MG kits, only to see at least 7-8 variants of the RX-78-2 alone. So I have to ask: which is the absolute definitive version of the MG RX-78-2 Gundam?

The WWE and Pro-Wrestling Thread 2

Time for a little flashback: Demolition Back in 1987, the WWF needed their version of the Road Warriors/Legion of Doom (Animal and Hawk). So veteran wrestlers Bill Eadie and Randy Colley became Ax and Smash of Demolition, a tag team that looked like something out of a Mad Max movie. After only a few matches, Colley stepped down because the fans already knew him by his previous gimmick, Moondog Rex. Barry Darsow became the new Smash, and the team started to pave their road to domination. Their undefeated streak was further reinforced when Mr. Fuji replaced Luscious Johnny Valiant as their manager. At WrestleMania IV in 1988, Demolition destroyed Strike Force (Tito Santana and Rick Martel) to become the WWF Tag Team Champions. Demolition's three reigns as champions totaled to 698 days, which remains the longest reign of the title until today. Shortly after WrestleMania VI in 1990, Demolition added a third member in the form of Brian Adams, a.k.a. Crush. Due to health reasons, Ax took more of a managerial position while the team reverted to heel status. Their popularity began to wane when the WWF signed in the Legion of Doom, who cost Demolition the titles to the Hart Foundation (Bret "Hitman" Hart and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) at SummerSlam. The feud ended with a loss to LOD and the Ultimate Warrior on an episode of Saturday Night's Main Event, followed by another defeat at Survivor Series. Shortly afterward, Ax quit from the WWF, leaving Smash and Crush as the team constantly jobbed to other tag teams such as the Rockers (Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty). After losing to Japanese wrestlers Genichiro Tenryu and Koji Kitao at WrestleMania VII in March 1991, Demolition disbanded. Smash became Repo Man, while Crush briefly wrestled as a face. In 2007, Adams died from an accidental drug overdose. In the same year, Ax and Smash reunited for the first time in over 16 years and they continue to wrestle in independent promotions across the U.S. Many long-time WWF/WWE fans consider Demolition to be the greatest tag team of all-time - more so than arch-rivals Legion of Doom. Regardless of what many think of the team, you have to admit that they had one of the best entrance themes ever recorded.- 715 replies

It's huge, but it seems more like a super-sized HGUC kit.

Imagine all the Jetfire fans picking up this kit...

No matter how I see it, the VF-25 is the complete oddball in comparison to the other Valks. The cockpit area is just too skinny, and ff95gj's pic above proves it. -
I've said this numerous times, and I'll say it again: Kevin McKeever is a racist jackass. Back on the old MW forums, he called me a "South East Asian hick", which promptly got him banned. Not once did he apologize for that statement. Instead, he posted on his blog that it was in retaliation to my comment on Toynami's quality control: I don't know how, but McKeever misinterpreted that quote as racist against the Chinese. WTF?
