  1. I was doing some research on this series and found this video. It turns out that HyperWiz, the toy company making the KO Valks, started out as a Transformers KO series.
  2. Some quotes about the album: 'We didn't actually have the idea. It was the record company. The record company guys were like, 'Even if we have to go to jail, there's no question that we'll release that.' On the song 'Virgin Killer', time is the virgin killer. But then, when we had to do the interviews about it, we said 'Look, listen to the lyrics and then you'll know what we're talking about. We're using this only to get attention. That's what we do.' Even the girl, when we met her fifteen years later, had no problem with the cover. Growing up in Europe, sexuality, of course not with children, was very normal. The lyrics really say it all. Time is the virgin killer. A kid comes into the world very naive, they lose that naiveness and then go into this life losing all of this getting into trouble. That was the basic idea about all of it" - Rudolf Schenker, guitarist "Looking at that picture today makes me cringe. It was done in the worst possible taste. Back then I was too immature to see that. Shame on me—I should have done everything in my power to stop it. The record company came up with the idea, I think. The lyrics incidentally were a take-off on KISS, whom we had just supported on a tour. I was fooling around and played the riff of the song in the rehearsal room and spontaneously improvised 'cause he's a virgin killer!' trying to do a more or less way-off-the-mark Paul Stanley impersonation. Klaus immediately said 'that's great! You should do something with it.' Then I had the unenviable task of constructing a meaningful set of lyrics around the title, which I actually managed to do to some degree. But the song has a totally different meaning from what people would assume at first. Virgin Killer is none other than the demon of our time, the less compassionate side of the societies we live in today—brutally trampling upon the heart and soul of innocence." - Uli Jon Roth, ex-guitarist
  3. That's the whole problem, as the producers failed to stick to the premise of the first film: THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE. The TV series was good on many parts, but it would've been better if it didn't involve Connor MacLeod. Having two immortal MacLeods with katanas in the same place makes no sense.
  4. Wow...I didn't realize Darren Aronofsky would make such a film. At least he made up for this mistake with The Wrestler.
  5. Yes, I know about that, but I was talking about people posting Robotech II: The Sentinels on YouTube. They obviously posted the video without HG's permission. Also, on some of the more recent uploads, sections containing the Macross flashback have been taken down due to a copyright claim by the Bandai Channel.
  6. Here's what I don't get: If HG is so uptight about Macross stuff and fan art inspired by RT, why haven't they done anything about all the RT videos uploaded by fans on YouTube?
  7. I never saw it and I have no intention of watching it? How much worse is it than Highlander: Endgame?
  8. I say GO BUY IT! Yes, the figure has its flaws, but what Valkyrie toy doesn't? Buying the Armored Messiah reminded me of 10 years ago, when I got Yamato's first Macross offering - the 1/72 YF-19. It chipped paint all over and had that faulty fuselage tab, but who cares? I still have it proudly displayed on my shelf. So yeah, the Armored Messiah is a tad fiddly with its parts, but it's still an awesome display piece.
  9. Especially Virgin Killer (if you can find the original).
  10. Mission Earth has not been adapted into film, and given the outcome of Battlefield Earth, it probably never will.
  11. Mine actually broke on the hinge by the red circle on the left during my second time transforming it. After applying very small amounts of super glue, it's holding on well. However, the hinges by the yellow circle on the left and opposite of it are cracked, but so far, they're holding on.
  12. And they're at it again...
  13. Actually, I have some friends who are Scientologists, and they hated that movie.
  14. For the most part, it should've been true to the original, as it was directed by Chris Roberts, creator of the game series. Unfortunately, he had no skills as a film director (aside from the FMVs of games) and he didn't seem to care anymore about the outcome of the film. As a result, the movie was a disaster.
  15. Anyone here pick up Sting in the Tail by the Scorpions? It's supposed to be their last album ever, as they're calling it quits after 45 years. Also, Nightwish fans may want to check out the album, as the band does a duet with former vocalist Tarja Turunen on one song.
  16. I'm actually betting that the toy is as solid as the old Chunky Monkey, and I already know it's much better than Toynami's MPC Veritech (which is a floppy mess) in build quality.
  17. This weekend, I decided to bite the bullet and order a King Size YF-10 Jin Gang Custom figure from KOTOYS.com for US$39.00. Will post a full report on it once it arrives on my doorstep in 2 weeks.
  18. Let me guess: You just want to buy it for the Aphrodite scenes, right?
  19. If you like it, then why nominate it for Worst Sci-Fi Film?
  20. Not even close, dude. Besides, Killer Klowns is a classic.
  21. It's all Carlos Ghosn's fault. When he took majority control of Nissan, Renault's design team took over.
  22. It's cool how each combination has its own name: 1. Tornado Wings + Armored Parts = Typhoon Messiah (upper left) 2. Tornado Wings + Super Parts = Lightning Messiah (upper right) 3. Tornado Parts + Super Parts + VF-27 Parts = Slash Messiah (lower left) 4. Armored Pack + Tornado Parts = Destroy Messiah (lower right)
