  1. Unfortunately, you're right. I enjoy this toy, as it's far superior to my crappy Toynami MPC VF-1A.
  2. Now for some Guardian and Battloid pics:
  3. Finally got my YF-10 customized.
  4. Astro Plan YF-10 Model Kit (use Google Chrome to translate) As expected, the model kit is a parts-former. Too bad it doesn't have the split-crotch feature of the King Size toy. And what a waste of box space.
  5. Dude, I hope you didn't start with that VF-25 yet, as I've got a better starting point for you. Try using the King Size YF-10 or YF-11 Type Yi fighter from the Astro Plan series. It's only US$27.99 + shipping and it looks closer to the Valkyrie II than the Messiah. Astro Plan Toys at KOTOYS.com
  6. Further proof that the old one is better, but I'd rather have the Yamato GN-U Dou version.
  7. The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day Stage 6 Films/Sony Pictures, 2009 Created and Directed by Troy Duffy Running Time: 117 minutes Rated R for graphic violence, slight nudity and profanity. "There's two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down. You've got your 'talkers' and you've got your 'doers'. Most people are just talkers; all they got is talk. But when all is said and done, it's the doers who change this world. And when they do that, they change us. And that's why we never forget them... So which one are you? Do you just talk about it or do you stand up and do something about it? Because believe you me, all the rest of it is just coffee house bullsh*t." - Rocco Cast Sean Patrick Flanery (The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Max in Suicide Kings) as Connor McManus* Norman Reedus (Detective Reilly in American Gangster, Marco in Deuces Wild) as Murphy McManus* Billy Connolly (Uncle Monty in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events) as Noah "Il Duce" McManus* Clifton Collins, Jr. (Ayel in Star Trek, El Huron in Crank: High Voltage) as Romeo Julie Benz (Rita in Dexter, Darla in Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as FBI Special Agent Eunice Bloom Judd Nelson (Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime in Transformers: The Movie, Bender in The Breakfast Club) as Concezio Yakavetta Daniel DeSanto as Ottilio Panza Bob Marley (the comedian, not the singer) as Detective Greenly* David Ferry as Detective Dolly* Brian Mahoney as Detective Duffy* David Della Rocco as "himself" a.k.a. "The Funny Man"* Peter Fonda (Wyatt in Easy Rider, McElroy in 3:10 to Yuma) as "The Roman" Gerard Parkes as Doc* Willem Dafoe (The Last Temptation of Christ, Green Goblin in the Spider-Man trilogy) as Paul Smecker* *Roles reprised from the first film. Connor: "You ready for this sh*t, my dear brother?" Murph: "Let's do some gratuitous violence." Synopsis Ten years have passed since fraternal twin brothers Connor and Murphy McManus and their father Noah "Il Duce" McManus, collectively known as "The Saints", publicly executed mafia don "Papa" Joe Yakavetta in a Boston court and disappeared to Ireland. But when Yakavetta's son Concezio hires a hitman to commit a copycat execution on a priest, the brothers travel back to Boston to get some answers and wipe out the mafia. Things, however, are not what they seem to be when parts of Noah's dark past return to haunt him. Gangster: "'Erin go Braugh'. What the f*ck does that mean?" Murphy: "It's Irish for 'You're f*cked'!" Lowdown Fans have waited ten years for the sequel to the 1999 cult classic The Boondock Saints. Much of the original cast and crew are back, but does The Boondock Saints II deliver? Yes and no. Yes, it's great to see the McManus clan in full force again. The movie just isn't what it is without them, especially legendary comedian Billy Connolly. Clifton Collins, Jr. also does a great job as Romeo, the brothers' new Mexican sidekick who is a skilled fighter, but not very bright on everything else. Romeo: "Who ordered the whoop-ass fajita?" Murph: "What?" Connor: "'Whoop-ass fajita'?" Connor & Muurph: "That's f*ckin' stupid." Rocco, who was killed in the first film, delivers some outstanding lines during the film's dream sequences. And the detective trio of Greenly, Dolly and Duffy are as comedic as ever. Plus, the film has some excellent performances by Judd Nelson and the legendary Peter Fonda. But perhaps the biggest surprise is the return of Willem Dafoe as Paul Smecker, as he was originally reported not to appear in the film. So what is wrong with this film? "Well, since we've already broken the f*ck barrier... allow me to be blunt. It is because I'm so f*cking smart, that I make smart people feel like they are retarded." - Eunice Julie Benz just doesn't work well in the film as FBI Special Agent Eunice Bloom. Aside from the fake Southern Belle accent, she makes really flat attempts at emulating Smecker's style of investigating crime scenes. During one narration of a crime scene, she is seen wearing a cowgirl outfit, which makes the film unnecessarily cheesier than it should be. An even bigger shame is that two important characters die, but she doesn't. Despite that character, the film delivers a lot of what you'd expect: over-the-top violence, tongue-in-cheek dialogue and countless uses of the F-word. If you're a fan of the first film, definitely check it out. Otherwise, it's strictly a rental for everyone else. Rating: B- DVD Extras: B+ The DVD includes a behind-the-scenes documentary and a conversation with Billy Connolly and director Troy Duffy. The film has an optional commentary track with Duffy and Willem Dafoe. There are also two deleted scenes as well. 8. I was thinking, maybe this year or next year's MWCon should hold a kitbashing contest using the King Size toys. I'd like to see what MWers can make out of them.
  9. Really? I got my KO Fire Valk for $10.
  10. Richard Nixon (Black Dynamite) "SHOWTIME, MOTHERF*CKER!" He killed Black Dynamite's brother and sold drugs to communities, as well as made an attempt to turn Afro-American men impotent. But now, he must face Black Dynamite in a nunchuku deathmatch!
  11. Comedy gold, anyone? I opened up the HyperWiz site using Google Chrome to translate it to English, and I discovered this article: Space Adventures (Astro Plan) identify genuine piracy Published :2010-3-23 16:28:52 Manufacturers of illegal piracy of intellectual respect for the coveted new - Space Adventures (Astro Plan) launched, the market of pirated products immediately overwhelming. Consumer products, even with eyes that are difficult to distinguish between true and false. Should know that using non-toxic materials are genuine products ABS plastic manufacturing, quality inspection departments relevant inspection certificate with the 3C compulsory certification will not jeopardize children's health. Pirated materials used, without correlation, can not guarantee security. From last year, "melamine", "egg poisoning", "water is poisoned," recently attracted uproar, and there Shanxi vaccine event. Make a life-threatening vaccine is really terrifying. Star Jie (HyperWiz), is holding the purpose of health and happiness of children, child development puzzle for the deformation (transforming) of toys, has launched a Variety machine beast, the space adventure. Children are like, in the process of buying, but also carefully check the authenticity of identification. Some even with the genuine packaging of pirated products verbatim.
  12. For those who want to know more about the company that owns Astro Plan 9 from Outer Space: Official HyperWiz Site
  13. Maybe in China, they're dirt cheap. But it ended up costing me a lot more than I expected. I ordered mine through KOTOYS.com for US$39.99 (US$27.99 + US$12.00 Zone 1 shipping). Unfortunately, since it was shipped through EMS, I was forced to pay import taxes and duties here in Manila, which US$32! Maybe those in the US will be luckier with their orders.
  14. You'd be surprised by the build quality of this toy. Examining it is like that one time, at Band Camp, when some MiG-25 pilot defected and landed his plane in Japan for the Americans to disassemble it. This toy screams Chunky Monkey, but it's got some tricks up its sleeves. There are no ball joints anywhere; articulation on the shoulders, hips and swing bar is through loud ratchet joints, while everything else is swivel-type. Unlike the Chunky Monkey or Toynami's Valks, the swing bar is a solid plastic "wishbone". There is one thing it has that no Valkyrie toy has: a telescoping front landing gear. Sheer genius! My biggest gripes so far are the lack of locking mechanisms for the arms, head and tail fin in fighter mode. The arms and head just dangle around under the fuselage and the two halves of the tail fin have no pegs or clips. Otherwise, there's no reason not to pick up this toy. On another note, none of the Type Yi Fighter toys have their "Ultimate Skill" weapons. I was so disappointed when I found out that mine didn't come with the energy axe or the shield. So for those who want the blue one, sorry - no sniper bazooka. Right now, I'm in the process of detailing the toy. I've already painted the UN Spacy kite on the back and gave the wishbone a better color. Pics and full comparison with some Valks coming soon.
  15. More preview pics. Full review coming soon!
  16. If only the show had Agent ONE, then the title would have been completely defined.
  17. Dude, you got it wrong. It's Robotech: Astro Plan 9 from Outer Space.
  18. You'd have to take a closer look at it. In L.A., I once saw a '90s Honda Accord fitted with a body kit to look like a 4-door R34. Sad but true. A dozen GT-Rs is a lot in NJ, hell even in the entire Northeast.
  19. I have to admit that the 1/48 Gundam is a nice model for standing poses, but its price is just a turn-off for me. Besides, I don't have the room to display such a model. I'll stick to MG kits for the time being.
  20. Time to switch gears on this thread: In your opinion, who are the 10 greatest heel wrestlers of all-time, and what made them stand out from the rest?
  21. Wait a minute...since when were RT fans concerned about legal issues?
  22. It's good that the guy kept it in original JDM-spec. I've seen a handful of GT-Rs (R33 and R34) in Manila, and they were all LHD-converted due to strict rules against RHD cars.
  23. Recent ramblings over at RT.com over this:
  24. Too true. Anyway, it looks like there's a newer version of the second trailer with better BGM arrangement.
