The Fiat 500 is coming to the U.S. early next year. In the meantime, here's a look at its tiny predecessor: -
Looks like we've found the perfect team to do the RT LAM.
-
The film is titled Iron Eagle because it's a military slang for a Colonel who will not be promoted to General for various reasons. This means the movie is referring to Chappy. Of course, the sequels somewhat defeat the purpose of the title, as Chappy is promoted to Brigadier General.

Sorry, but when it comes to shelfwarmers, nothing compares to these: The Great Wall of Animated Ratchet The Tower of ROTF Breakaway The Hanging Garden of Movie 1 Payload

Time to cover the three sequels in one post. Iron Eagle II Carolco Pictures, 1988 Directed by Sidney J. Furie (Purple Hearts, The Taking of Beverly Hills) Running Time: 105 minutes Rated PG for violence and strong language. To make a long story short, Doug is killed in the opening scene during a run-in with the Soviets (who are flying F-4 Phantoms). His wingman Matt "Cobra" Cooper is recruited alongside Chappy to cooperate with the Soviets on a joint strike operation to destroy a nuclear weapons facility somewhere in the Middle East. Considering that one F-16, a cargo plane and an APC were destroyed and one soldier was killed, this operation sucks. They should've given this mission to the Israeli Air Force instead. And the strike operation itself is a ripoff of Star Wars. Still, the dogfights are decent. Rating: D+ -- Aces: Iron Eagle III Seven Arts Films/New Line Cinema, 1992 Directed by John Glen (all James Bond 007 films from 1981 to 1989) Running Time: 98 minutes Rated R for violence, drug use and strong language. What did Sonny Chiba do to deserve this humiliation? Aces: Iron Eagle III has Chappy and three World War II veterans (a Briton, a German and a Japanese, to be more precise) fly antique aircraft to Peru in order to stop a drug cartel run by a former Nazi captain and a corrupt U.S. Air Force general. This film makes a lame attempt at sarcasm by throwing in every stereotype out there. Worst of all is a sidekick named Tee Vee, who seems to be the precursor to Jar-Jar Binks. Hell, the movie even makes Sonny Chiba do what every Japanese pilot was trained to do during WWII. Probably the only good part of this movie is that bodybuilding hottie Rachel McLish, but that alone doesn't save it from obscurity. Rating: D- -- Iron Eagle on the Attack Trimark Pictures, 1995 Directed by Sidney J. Furie (Superman IV: The Quest for Peace) Running Time: 96 minutes Rated PG-13 for violence, drug references and strong language. Behold: The final nail on the coffin of the Iron Eagle film series. Chappy, now retired from the Air Force, runs a flying school in order to rehabilitate a group of juvenile delinquents. Also, it turns out that Doug did eject from his plane during the incident in Iron Eagle II, but ended up being a POW in the Soviet Union. Also, he's played by someone else. Still, this severely low-budget disaster has no excuses: plot has no direction, characters make no sense, and the fighter jets magically change from F-5s to F-16s. And this movie doesn't even have a decent soundtrack (as the producers were probably too poor to license any rock music). As a result, this movie is beyond awful that an F, bomb or turkey are not low enough to rate it. So I'll use the same rating I gave The King of Failures. Iron Eagle Tri-Star Pictures, 1986 Directed by Sidney J. Furie (The Ipcress File, The Entity) Running Time: 117 minutes Rated PG-13 for violence and strong language. Cast Louis Gossett, Jr. (Sgt. Foley in An Officer and a Gentleman, Jerry in Enemy Mine) as Col. Charles "Chappy" Sinclair Jason Gedrick as Doug Masters David Suchet (Agatha Christie's Poirot) as Col. Akir Nakesh Tim Thomerson as Col. Ted Masters Synopsis Doug Masters is an aspiring pilot, hoping to follow his father's footsteps in the U.S. Air Force. Then one day, his father is shot down over the Mediterranean sea and taken prisoner in an Arab country, where he is to be executed in three days. Seeing that the U.S. government will do nothing about this crisis, Doug takes matters into his own hands, as he and his friends make plans for their own rescue operation. In addition, they receive further help from veteran pilot Col. Charles "Chappy" Sinclair, who flies with Doug on their way to rescue Col. Masters in hostile territory. Lowdown With all this news about a new Top Gun movie, I couldn't help but dust off this 1980s relic. Iron Eagle is seen by many critics as a second-rate Top Gun, mainly because both films came out on the same year. Yes, it's cheesy and a bit dated, but quite a gem for anyone who enjoys the '80s. The first half of the film tends to be dragging, as it focuses mostly on Doug's life, from spending his time flying simulators and Cessnas while cranking his Walkman to dealing with a rejection notice from the Air Force Academy. Doug, at most, is your stereotypical film brat. But then comes Chappy, who carries the whole weight of the film with his cool, calculating attitude. The dogfights are decently choreographed, despite using the same explosion shots over and over again. And as with Top Gun, this film has MiG fighters inaccurately portrayed by Western fighter planes - in this case, the Israeli-built IAI Kfir takes the role of the baddies. But perhaps the strongest point of this film is the music. You've got heavy-hitting rock and metal anthems from Queen, Dio and Eric Martin, as well as the epic theme song "Iron Eagle (Never Say Die)" by King Kobra. In short, Iron Eagle is no Top Gun, but if you're in the mood for a decent air combat movie or if you're a fan of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, look no further. Just don't bother with the sequels, which will be reviewed later on in this thread (at least two of them are better than Stealth). Rating: B References The Internet Movie Database

Actually, an Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante was used in The Living Daylights. -
No. It's still a crap movie, as the storyline and characters bear little or no resemblance to the video game. At least Mortal Kombat stayed true to the original concept, despite being much less violent. Here's a more detailed review of the film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCDDP3SkGzg

My laptop started with 2GB DDR3 RAM, but as my work requires the constant use of Skype and Dropbox, my CPU meter gadget was reading the RAM usage at up to 100% with major slowdown. I uninstalled the POS Kaspersky software, which restored the CPU speed, but RAM usage was still going up to 80% on startup. So I had an additional 2GB DDR3 RAM added in, and it makes a world of difference. My programs boot faster, Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) runs smoother and the RAM usage has been reduced to 35%. -
Time for something different.

I had a problem with YouTube wherein Flash was unresponsive until the video was fully loaded... eventually. That problem went away after upgrading to the latest version of Flash 10. -

A South African tuning company takes the Holden Ute and supercharges the 6 liter V8 to 535 bhp and 590 lb-ft torque. The result is a staggering 0-60 acceleration of 4.5 seconds, a 1/4 mile acceleration of 12.7 seconds @ 113 mph and a top speed of 175 mph. Too bad we'll never see this hit stateside as the Chevrolet El Camino... 2011 LupiniPower Chevrolet Super Ute -
CollectionDX Gets a Hold of the YF-11 Unit 4 Also, most branches of Toy Kingdom in Manila are currently carrying Astro Plan 9 from Outer Space bootlegs for under US$3. These are 6" knockoffs of the smaller toys without the spring-loaded transforming mechanism. I have yet to find any store around here that sells the "original" HyperWiz toys. A few months back, I spoke to the owner of GreatToysOnline.com and he says he has no interest in importing them.

2009 Lost Memories ( 2009 로스트메모리즈 / ロスト・メモリーズ) indecom/E-Tube Entertainment/CJ Entertainment, 2002 ADV Films, 2004 Directed by Lee Si-Myung Running Time: 135 minutes Rated R for graphic violence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df3BDkqtxzQ Cast Jang Dong-Gun as Masayuki Sakamoto Toru Nakamura as Shojiro Saigo Seo Jin-Ho as Oh Hye-Rin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPl940-9QH8 Synopsis In an alternate year 1909, the assassination of Japanese Prime Minister Hirobumi Ito by Korean nationalist An Jung-geun is thwarted. As a result, Japan's political stance worldwide changes dramatically. Over the course of the century, Japan allies with the U.S. in World War II, with the atomic bomb destroying Berlin instead of Hiroshima. In addition, Japan also becomes a permanent member of the UN Security Council in 1960, participates in the space race with the Sakura I satellite in 1965, hosts the 1988 Summer Olympics in Nagoya (instead of Seoul) and the 2002 FIFA World Cup (instead of splitting it with South Korea). More importantly, the peninsula of Korea remains part of Imperial Japan. Fast-forward to the year 2009 in the city of Keijo (Seoul). Japanese Bureau of Investigation (JBI) agent Masayuki Sakamoto and his partner Shojiro Saigo end a hostage crisis at a museum instigated by a terrorist group called Hureisenjin. Sakamoto continues to investigate the incident in search of the Hureisenjin's motives, which involves an organization created by former Governor-General Inoue. As he digs deeper for answers, he discovers that his late father was involved with the Hureisenjin, but his further findings make him a marked man by the JBI. Allying himself with the Hureisnjin, Sakamoto realizes that the current timeline should not exist, as history had been tampered with, and he must go back in time to restore history to bring Korean sovereignty back to existence. Lowdown 2009 Lost Memories is South Korea's answer to the film noir genre, with a hardly noticeable sci-fi element on the side. It also gives viewers an idea of how much the Japanese and Koreans hate each other. And that's the problem with this film. Sure, the cinematography is great and the shootouts are well-choreographed, but there are too many interludes that vaguely develop any of the characters, and there's the constant clashing of Japanese and Korean cultures. Plus, making this a time-travel film somehow doesn't seem to work. At least Mamoru Oshii's Kerberos saga is merely an alternate universe. And the running time - 135 minutes? The production team could have accomplished a better story at a shorter time. But perhaps my biggest gripe with this film is the same as Battle Royale II: Requiem: it promotes terrorism. It makes viewers believe that terrorism is the only solution to a country's problems. In short, 2009 Lost Memories is not a bad film. It's just too long with numerous plot holes and too much focus on anti-Japanese/anti-Korean sentiment. A rental at most. Rating: C+ Sub vs. Dub Don't know, don't care. I didn't realize ADV Films licensed this film several years ago until recently. Moreover, according to IMDb, the English dub was produced by none other than Carl Macek. You should also consider the following factors: - Screen size. - Use of CD-ROM drive. If these two are not important, your best bet would be a netbook (preferably an Asus Eee PC). Just be sure that Windows 7 Home Premium is available for it, as Windows 7 Starter blows chunks. Other than that, stay away from Compaq (which still sucks after HP acquired them) and eMachines (still don't trust them even under Acer). -
Simple answer: producers don't care. All they see is the title of the game which, to them, is enough to sell the movie.

No surprise at all on this. Tekken Creator Katsuhiro Harada Calls Tekken Film "Terrible" “That Hollywood movie is terrible. We were not able to supervise that movie; it was a cruel contract. I’m not interested in that movie.” Still, as bad as the movie is, it's still much better than The King of Fighters.

Got myself a new laptop last weekend. Here are the specs: Asus K42JC Intel Core i3 350M 2GB DDR3 RAM 320GB hard drive Nvidia GeForce 310M Cuda 1GB GPU 14" HD (LED) monitor DVD+/-RW Super-Multi drive HDMI port 802.11n + Bluetooth wi-fi BTW, if you're shopping for an internet security program, go for either Norton or McAfee (which I have installed). Avoid Kaspersky like the plague, as it makes gaming rigs run like Pentium I computers. -

The AMP Energy 500 race at Talladega last week was intense, especially during the final lap. The top two finishers (#33 Clint Bowyer and #29 Kevin Harvick) were involved in a collision in the middle of the race, but despite front-end damage on both cars, they finished 1 and 2. The race also ended with a crash that sent #43 A.J. Allmendinger airborne.
