  1. Just wondering... every time I do a YouTube search on "Robotech", I keep coming up with some electropop song by Hyper Crush. Could HG be getting royalties from this song? Hyper Crush - "Robotech"
  2. "If you're gonna ride, Daniel, ride in style..." Oh, wait a minute... wrong song!
  3. Here's the latest trailer. Not really looking forward to this.
  4. Just wondering, why was the Black Lion firing at the other Lions?
  5. Just came back from watching this movie and I must say that it was actually pretty good. Sure, there's no clear definition of who the real villain was - whether it was Barbossa, Blackbeard, the British or the Spaniards - and the whole love affair between the missionary and the mermaid was merely an afterthought, but it made me forget the disaster that was At World's End. And the movie actually worked in 3D for the most part. Looking forward to the sequel.
  6. On this week's episode of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 14: "Now for Traffic Safety" (いまも交通安全) Legend of the Week: Yuji Kishi as Kyosuke Jinnai Villain of the Week: Action Commander Jellacit Gokai Color of the Week: N/A Past Sentai of the Week: Gekisou Sentai Carranger (Power Rangers Turbo), Kousoku Sentai Turboranger (too '80s for Power Rangers fans) and Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuranger (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) The next clue to the Greatest Treasure in the Universe is to observe traffic safety, which leads the Gokaigers to Kyosuke Jinnai - the former Red Racer and leader of the Carrangers. Meanwhile, when it is revealed that Kyosuke interfered with Action Commander Zaggai's mission in the last episode, the Zangyack forces send some troops to eliminate him, while Insarn falls madly in love with him. This episode is pure cornball. If you've never seen Gekisou Sentai Carranger, you will either love or hate this episode, as it emulates the show's self-parody and slapstick style. And because of this, Kyosuke steals the entire show and leaves the Gokaigers in confusion most of the time. Next week on Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 15: "A Privateer Appears" (私掠船現る) An old rival of Captain Marvelous is sent by the Zangyack to deal with the Gokaigers with some Ranger Keys in hand. And Aka Red makes a surprise appearance.
  7. A spy shot reveals a future episode featuring the Gokaigers changing into various sixth Rangers: Dragon Ranger, a female Mega Silver, Time Fire, a female Abare Killer and Magi Shine. This may be the episode where Gokai Silver makes his debut. The Five Gokaigers as Sixth Rangers
  8. I mentioned this Gunpla line a few weeks back. And now, here's a video of it, courtesy of 2Old4Toys.
  9. It's very tragic to hear that the Macho Man has passed away. Now we'll never get that final confrontation between him and Hogan. R.I.P. Macho Man Randy Savage
  10. It was already announced last year that this is the final film, making the series a trilogy. Michael Bay also said that Hasbro will eventually reboot the movie series in the near future.
  11. Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg to Be Inducted into Transformers Hall of Fame
  12. Probably. It reminds me of Robotech: Astro Plan.
  13. Minipla Kaizoku Gattai Gokai Machines (海賊合体ゴーカイマシン) Bandai, 2011 Made in Japan Contents Box 1: Magi Dragon Box 2: Pat Striker Box 3: Gao Lion Set A (head and front legs) Box 4: Gao Lion Set B (body, rear legs and tail) Ramune-flavored candy in each box For every past Super Sentai power unlocked, Gokaioh is given a unique upgrade. And for the Minipla Gokaioh kit,. Bandai has released the Gokai Machine candy toy series to go with it. As with all Minipla kits, each box comes with a delicious ramune candy pill and the box is cut from one side to access the assembly instructions. Magi Dragon (マジドラゴン) In Mahou Sentai Magiranger, the Majin forms of Magi Yellow, Magi Blue, Magi Pink and Magi Green combined into the mythical mecha known as the Magi Dragon. In episode 3 of Gokaiger, the Gokaigers unlocked the powers of the Magiranger keys, giving them their own Magi Dragon, which enables Gokaioh to fly and execute the Gokai Magi Bind. Unfortunately, no toy version has given justice to the Gokai Machine Magi Dragon - and this is no exception. Sure, it has more articulation than its larger DX counterpart, but it's just an underwhelming pile of plastic. Disassembling it and attaching the parts to Gokaioh doesn't make either figure any better, either. Detail: C- Features: C- Articulation: B Pat Striker (パトストライカー) Deka Red's badass mecha from Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger gives Gokaioh the firepower it needs starting from episode 5, when the Gokaigers unlocked the powers of the Dekaranger keys. Save for a few differences, this is spot-on to the original Pat Striker. The front fenders and quarter panels attach to Gokaioh's limbs to give it Gatling cannons for the Gokai Full Blast attack. In addition, the front fenders become handguns for Gokaioh to do some hard-boiled, dual-wielding action. By far my favorite of the set - and not just because I'm a hardcore Dekaranger fan. Detail: B+ Features: A- Articulation: N/A Gao Lion (ガオライオン) Gao Red's Power Animal from Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger sided with the Gokaigers after they unlocked the powers of the Gaoranger keys. When summoned, Gao Lion merges with Gokaioh (which separates its legs) to form the centaur-like Gao Gokaioh and decimate the enemy with the Gokai Animal Heart. After unlocking the powers of the Shinkenger keys, Gao Gokaioh changes into Shinken Gokaioh and destroys its opponents with the Gokai Samurai-giri. By itself, the Gao Lion kit has good detail and articulation. However, once combined with Gokaioh, things go wrong. Gao Gokaioh was a silly idea to begin with, and it shows on any toy version. Shinken Gokaioh would've benefitted from the Minipla's poseability, but it ends up being very clunky. The hind legs protrude too far forward when attached to Gokaioh's forearms, resulting in some wonky arms. The naginata attachments for the Gokai Ken swords is a badass add-on, but the Rekka Daizantou is disappointingly small (even though it is formed from Gao Lion's body). As a Samurai Sentai Shinkenger fan, I consider this one to be a minor letdown. At least I have the Super Robot Chogokin Shinkenoh. Detail: B Features: B- Articulation: B
  14. This is Wanzerfan we're dealing with. He's just looking for another excuse to stuff a shoe in his mouth.
  15. On this week's episode of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 13: "Tell Me the Way" (道を教えて) Legend of the Week: None Villain of the Week: Action Commander Zaggai Gokai Color of the Week: Pink Past Sentai of the Week: Seijuu Sentai Gingaman (Power Rangers Lost Galaxy) Ahim goes out to do some shopping when she is kidnapped at gunpoint. Captain Marvelous, however, refuses to pay the ransom. Meanwhile, the Zangyack send down the Action Commander of the Week to destroy the Gokaigers. It was a so-so filler episode that focused on Ahim-chan. Nothing spectacular, unless you're a fan of hers. Next week on Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 14: "Now for Traffic Safety" (いまも交通安全) The Gokaigers get some important traffic safety tips from the former leader of Gekisou Sentai Carranger (Power Rangers Turbo).
  16. IF it gets a part 2 at all. Chances are, this movie will just tank at the box office.
  17. No surprise here, especially since this movie is by the same people who did Legion last year. Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 20%
  18. On this week's episode of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 12: "The Guaranteed Showy Samurai" (極付派手侍) Legends of the Week: Runa Natsui as Kaoru Shiba and Kazuyuki Matsuzawa as Toshizo Tanba Villain of the Week: Action Commander Delzeiger Gokai Color of the Week: None Past Sentai of the Week: Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (Power Rangers Samurai) Joe leaves the Gokai Galleon in an attempt to make Barizorg remember that he was once his mentor Sid Bamick, but to no avail. After being wounded by Captain Marvelous, Walz Gil orders his troops to show no mercy on the Gokaigers. This show never fails to deliver. And what a way to end a 2-part story arc. We learn more about Joe's past and how he was recruited by the Gokaigers. We're also treated to more fast-paced action that picks up from episode 11. The Gokaigers also continue to dish out the pain with the Shinkenger keys; and with them, they unleash the badass Shinken Gokaioh. For this episode, the Gokaigers go all-out with the past rangers from Gosei Sentai Dairanger (season 2 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), GoGo Sentai Boukenger (Power Rangers Operation Overdrive), Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger (Power Rangers Ninja Storm), Hikari Sentai Maskman (too '80s for Power Rangers fans), Denji Sentai Megaranger (Power Rangers in Space), Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger (Power Rangers Dino Thunder), Himitsu Sentai Goranger (the show that started it all), Chouriki Sentai Ohranger (Power Rangers Zeo), Choujuu Sentai Liveman (another one the Power Rangers fans wouldn't know), Denshi Sentai Denjiman (too '70s for Power Rangers fans), Choushinsei Flashman (too '80s for Power Rangers fans) and Mirai Sentai Timeranger (Power Rangers Time Force). Next week on Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 13: "Tell Me the Way" (道を教えて) Ahim-chan is kidnapped. Bad move for the kidnapper.
  19. Fast Five Original Film/Universal Pictures, 2011 Directed by Justin Lin (Better Luck Tomorrow, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) Based upon characters created by Gary Scott Thompson (Hollow Man, 88 Minutes) Running Time: 130 minutes Rated PG-13 for graphic violence and profanity Cast Vin Diesel (The Iron Giant, xXx) as Dominic Toretto Paul Walker (Chris in Timeline, Jerry in Eight Below) as Brian O'Conner Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (The Scorpion King, Cliffjumper in Transformers: Prime) as DSS Agent Luke Hobbs Jordana Brewster (Jill in Chuck, Chrissie in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) as Mia Toretto Tyrese Gibson (Epps in the Transformers trilogy) as Roman Pearce Chris "Ludacris" Bridges (Anthony in Crash, Jim Bravura in Max Payne) as Tej Parker Sung Kang (Raj in Live Free or Die Hard) as Han Lue Gal Gadot (Miss Israel 2004) as Gisele Harabo Don Omar (some Reggaeton singer) as Rico Santos Tego Calderón (some Reggaeton rapper) as Tego Leo Matt Schulze (Wall Street in The Transporter, Chupa in Blade II) as Vince Joaquim de Almeida (Bucho in Desperado, Col. Cortez in Clear and Present Danger) as Hernan Reyes Elsa Pataky as Elena Neves Eva Mendes (Ajedrez in Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Sara in Hitch) as Agent Monica Fuentes (uncredited) Synopsis Years after springing Dominic Toretto out of a prison bus, former FBI agent Brian O'Conner and Dom's sister Mia reunite with him in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to do another grand theft auto job. But the job goes awry when Brian discovers that the cars were seized by the DEA and were part of a money laundering operation by businessman Hernan Reyes. Dom and Brian decide to form a team and pull a heist to steal $100 million of Reyes' laundered money, but they are quickly tailed by DSS Agent Luke Hobbs and rookie cop Elena Neves. Lowdown Yes, it's yet another installment in The Fast and the Furious saga, except that they're throwing everything and the kitchen sink into it. Fast Five brings back the main cast from 2009's Fast and Furious. In addition, we see return appearances by Vince from 2001's The Fast and the Furious and Roman and Tej from 2003's 2 Fast 2 Furious. Also joining the cast is The Rock himself, Dwayne Johnson, as a no-nonsense federal agent. In comparison to the previous four films, there's surprisingly a lot more acting and much more story content here. But what about the cars? Well, those who are just in it for the cars will be disappointed. Cars take significantly less screen time than ever. No longer is there any focus on street racing, but at least we're treated to an intense car chase where Dom and Brian in two Dodge Chargers pull a safe vault all over town. There's more action and, surprisingly, a heavy body count in this movie. Yes, this is a darker, more serious film that the ricers probably won't be able to handle. Another improvement is the soundtrack. Yes, you still have tidbits of annoying hip-hop and reggaeton music in some parts, but an orchestral score by Bryan Tyler (Six-String Samurai, Constantine) dominates the background. Perfect to suit the film's mature tone. To sum things up, Fast Five rejuvenates the F&F film franchise with a different style of action worth watching over again. And be on the lookout for some surprise appearances after the credits. Rating: B+ Hobbs: "I'll see you again" Toretto: "No you won't."
